We're looking to add a backend engineer to our team. You'll have an opportunity to have a big impact at this early stage, not only on the core product but also on the culture and direction of the company. We're looking for someone who's comfortable going outside their comfort zone and wearing many different hats. Strong experience building web applications is essential; if you've built them from scratch, that's even better.

What You'll Do

• Design, architect, and build Standard Metrics’ core product as a member of the engineering team
• Take ownership of entire outcomes, and continue to support and grow them through iteration, documentation, and bug fixes (we do not have a QA team)
• Collaborate with the product team in scoping and defining the features that will best help the company achieve the outcomes aligned with our goals and the values we believe in
• Be an active contributor to the company culture and future hiring efforts

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years of backend development experience
• Expertise in Python (with Django framework experience preferred) 
• Strong record of building and delivering web applications
• Expertise in modern infrastructure (Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, CircleCI, etc.) preferred, but not required
• Understanding and adherence to modern software development practices (Gitflow, continuous integration, peer reviews, etc.)

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $150,000-$190,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

As an Event Marketer at Standard Metrics, you will play a key role in building relationships with our customers, prospects, partners, and broader entrepreneurial community through high-quality, thoughtfully executed events. You’ll be responsible for bringing our community together in person and creating experiences that support our sales, marketing, customer success, recruiting, and partnership efforts.

You’ll own external events end-to-end, from early planning through on-site execution and post-event follow-up. This is a highly cross-functional, hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys seeing projects through from start to finish.

Travel is a core part of this role, as in-person presence is essential to delivering successful events.

What You'll Do

• Plan, organize, and execute external events for current and prospective customers, users of our product, and other members of our community
• Own the full event lifecycle, including concept, timeline, budget, logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site execution
• Manage all event-related correspondence, including invitations, RSVPs, confirmations, reminders, and day-of communications
• Partner closely with sales, marketing, and customer success to align events with pipeline development, customer engagement, and partnership goals
• Collaborate directly with customers and external partners to co-host events
• Track event details, attendance, and outcomes, ensuring information is accurately documented and shared internally
• Lead post-event follow-up, including internal debriefs and reporting
• Build and refine event processes, templates, and playbooks as the events program continues to scale

What You'll Bring

• 3-5+ years of experience planning, organizing, and executing external events for a B2B AI or SaaS company
• Ability to manage multiple events, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously
• Comfort working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and customer success teams
• Willingness and ability to travel to support events, including 3+ events per quarter
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with strong follow-through
• Experience working in a fast-paced or startup environment
• Experience partnering with customers or external partners on events
• Familiarity with CRM systems (specifically Salesforce),event management tools, Slack, and Notion
• Experience and creativity around automating operational workflows using AI tools
• Knowledge of venture capital, private equity, or private markets, and comfort working with VC and investor-focused audiences

As a member of the Data Ops team you will get to work directly with investment data from our venture capital customers and startup partners. You will dive deep into the numbers, make sense of complicated investment data, and interface directly with some of the leading venture firms and startups in the world. This is a role that has lots of growth opportunity and touches many departments, such as product, engineering, customer success, and sales.

What You’ll Do

• Process investment data from venture capital firms
• Process income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements from startups
• Assist in the successful implementation and onboarding of new customers
• Process account information and other documents by resolving inconsistencies and reviewing data for errors using standard data workflows
• Review discrepancies in data received and ensure data accuracy on platform
• Collaborate with product and engineering on streamlining data workflows and evolving technology

What You’ll Bring

• 1+ years of full-time experience in accounting, banking, economics, or a related finance-adjacent role
• Major in finance, accounting, or data analytics
• Preliminary understanding of Venture Capital and startup investment structures
• Intermediate working knowledge of spreadsheets

The Customer Success team at Standard Metrics is responsible for the complete post-sales lifecycle of our customers, working with some of the best venture capital firms and startups in the world. We are hiring a passionate and self-driven team player who is a tenacious problem solver, a strategic thinker, and excellent at relationship management.

Members of the Customer Success team play a critical role in ensuring that our customers derive maximum value from Standard Metrics, driving overall platform adoption, customer retention, and contract renewal. You will become a trusted advisor to some of our most important customers, deeply understanding their business, goals, and needs in order to implement best practices and drive increased platform utilization. You will also collaborate closely with our sales, data, and product teams, serving as the customer’s internal advocate, to help us rapidly iterate on the platform.

What You'll Do

• Cultivate long-term relationships with customers and connect with key stakeholders across the business, from senior executives to power users
• Develop a deep understanding of the customer’s business requirements, challenges, and goals in order to drive successful outcomes including increasing customer lifetime value and collaborating with customers to provide references and testimonials
• Proactively manage relationships throughout the customer lifecycle, from deployment and adoption to growth and contract renewal
• Drive platform utilization across customer teams and provide best practice recommendations to help further platform adoption
• Own renewals and upsells for your assigned book of customers, proactively identifying and addressing churn risk, and accurately forecasting future revenue growth
• Lead recurring Partnership Reviews to align on business priorities, review product usage and insights, and provide an overview of our Product Roadmap and relevant upcoming enhancements
• Be a champion for our customers with our Product and Engineering teams, ensuring their voices and needs are heard and prioritized

What You'll Bring

• 7+ years of relevant experience in a client-facing role, ideally within customer success or account management
• Track record of developing strategic relationships with customers, identifying business goals, and driving value realization in order to ensure customer retention and reference-ability
• Experience managing and closing renewals and upsells
• Strong executive presence and ability to successfully navigate all levels of customer organizations
• Experience presenting to C-level executives and an ability to influence internal and external decision-makers
• Ability to work in a high-growth environment with a willingness to tackle projects and work independently
• Strong time management and prioritization skills, a natural empathy for customers, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Passion for technology, startups, entrepreneurship, and/or venture capital is a plus
