MICROELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN, STARLINK

As a Microelectronics Technician you will be joining a small team that supports the production of highspeed RF and optical modules that are instrumental in achieving high-speed internet for the world’s most advanced internet system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate, maintain, and calibrate microelectronics equipment (die bonders, wire bonders, AOI machines, and more) in an ESD-controlled cleanroom environment, emphasizing detail, accuracy, precision, and efficiency.
• Manufacture high-mix, medium-volume, high-frequency RF products using high-precision tools/processes, semiconductor dies, and automated ball bonding techniques to achieve aggressive production targets.
• Verify processes using metrology tools (e.g., CSAM, X-ray, 3D profilometers, pull/shear testers, contact angle goniometers) to assess epoxy voids, wirebond loop heights, and pull/shear forces.
• Work independently in a fast-paced startup environment while managing workflow, safety, organization, inventory, and 5S principles for a clean, sustainable workspace.
• Communicate via MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ERP software to coordinate with engineers, specialists, and technicians.

BASIC QUALIFCATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 2+ years of experience working in a electronics manufacturing OR cleanroom environment

SMT/HASS PRODUCTION OPERATOR (STARLINK)

DEVELOPMENT TECHNICIAN (PCBA) - 2nd Shift

This role serves as the bridge between production execution and engineering development for the Starlink PCBA team. You will apply hands-on SMT expertise to support the transition of hardware from early development through qualification and into rate production. Working closely with Engineering and Production teams, you will build and troubleshoot pre-production and qualification hardware while helping optimize SMT processes and production lines. 

The ideal candidate: has strong SMT/PCBA experience; enjoys working directly with engineers; proven skills for troubleshooting complex issues; possesses excellent attention to detail; and thrives in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support production engineering during development and pre-production phases by building, assembling, and testing pre-production, qualification, and flight PCBA hardware
• Assist with initial PCBA line setup, equipment programming, qualification of test setups, and transition of new designs into production
• Program, load, and operate automated SMT production machines including pick & place, reflow ovens, stencil printers, conformal coating, AOI, and X-ray systems
• Operate and troubleshoot SMT equipment (pick & place, reflow ovens, stencil printers, conformal coating, AOI, X-ray) with a focus on process stability and yield improvement
• Perform rework and recovery on non-conforming hardware while maintaining design integrity and documenting root causes
• Support continuous improvement projects including test rack builds, factory automation, and production line enhancements
• Thoroughly document processes, failures, and improvements using data to drive corrective actions and yield increases
• Provide surge support for critical production, qualification, or development builds
• Collaborate with engineers to give real-time feedback on manufacturability, DFM opportunities, and process issues
• Assist with training of junior technicians on SMT equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
• Work with production support teams to guarantee the daily success of PCBA production safely, reliably, and at rate 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

SMT REWORK TECHNICIAN

As an SMT (Surface-Mounted Technology) Rework Technician, you would be joining a small team that supports PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) rework with the highest grade of difficulty board and harness repairs coming from a variety of our Starlink Production Departments. Furthermore, you would work alongside our engineering team in the development of new products such as PCBA, harness, electronic components, and test rack systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Solder and de-solder through-hole and SMT components.
• Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application, and coating.
• Mechanical/electrical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis.
• Read, interpret, and work from drawings as well as from controlled documentation and processes.
• Self-monitor work progress against area benchmarks and achieve on-time delivery of all work.
• Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years of electrical and/or PCBA rework/repair experience.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER, PCBA (STARLINK)

As a Software Engineer on the PCBA design and manufacturing team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining software that interfaces with manufacturing equipment on our production line, with the goal of making our PCBA manufacturing process faster and more reliable. This is a high-autonomy role that will require building close relationships with manufacturing staff to understand issues, and coming up with software solutions interfacing with APIs or hardware that may have little or no documentation or vendor support. We are looking for people who like to own a problem from start to finish in a high-responsibility and low-micromanagement environment!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop highly reliable software solutions that are used across SpaceX production and engineering
• Create new applications that improve how SpaceX production operates
• Build prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints

MECHANICAL DESIGN SPECIALIST, PCBA PRODUCTION - 1^st SHIFT (STARLINK)

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Specialist to aid Starlink satellite production and drive process improvements. As a Mechanical Design Specialist, you will be responsible for creating tooling and equipment to enable high-rate production of satellite PCBAs. You will work closely with manufacturing engineers focused on SMT and secondary PCBA processes such as selective solder, X-ray, press fit, staking/underfill, and conformal coat. An individual in the specialist role will support production by managing tooling assets, writing and validating machine programs, collecting data, and communicating with various stakeholders across the company. This position will be hands-on and befits someone passionate about mechanical design, willing to learn and collaborate, and motivated to take on challenging work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, review, draft, procure, assemble, and test tooling and equipment
• Identify and action continuous improvement opportunities for safety, build quality, efficiency, and cost

SMT SPECIALIST - 1ST SHIFT

• Execute new product introduction builds across all work centers

• Design custom fixtures for PCBA to ensure efficient process flow

• Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted
• Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

ENTRY LEVEL PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN - PCBA

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Operate PCB assembly machines to manufacture circuit boards, such as: SMT placement, reflow, paste printing, conformal coating, masking, epoxy application, coating, optical, and x-ray inspection.
• Run thermal and functional testing of electronic hardware, including setup, instrumentation, test execution, teardown, and troubleshooting. 
• Ensure production equipment is maintained and calibrated through scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Manage schedule priorities and independently execute work to meet company deliverables.
• Thoroughly document failure modes and use data to improve quality.
• Component kitting and measurement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school degree or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of hands-on work experience or vocational training/cert.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from layout drawings, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists.
• Proficient in using a PC, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office suite, ERP, and related programs.
• Soldering proficiency including IPC and/or J-STD certification.
• Experience setting up and running tests and experiments.

Starlink Production Technician/Level 1: $22.00 - $26.50/hour
Starlink Production Technician/Level 2: $25.50 - $31.00/hour
Starlink Production Technician/Level 3: $29.50 - $37.00/hour
