SR. SPACEPORT ENGINEER (STARSHIP) 

Starbase is the center of SpaceX's plans to revolutionize space travel, serving as our primary site for Starship development and operations. We're seeking a licensed Professional Engineer for this direct full-time SpaceX employee role. You will be responsible for final plan review of permitting plan sets before they are submitted to permitting authorities. Among other standard-related matters, you will also be responsible for managing contract surveyors, long-term infrastructure planning, and developing internal plan sets and engineering standards. In this role, you'll own the permitting process for infrastructure developments, bridging the gap between our internal teams, consultants, and local authorities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Act as the primary owner and reviewer for final plan documents produced by internal engineering teams and external consultants, ensuring they are submission ready.
• Develop standardized form plan sets, establish minimum standards, and create checklists to guide engineers in producing high-quality, compliant engineering documents.
• Provide expert guidance to cross-functional teams on the status of plans, including readiness assessments for stamping and submission, to streamline workflows and minimize delays.
• Manage contract surveyors and coordinate survey deliverables to support permitting and design efforts.
• Lead long-term infrastructure planning to accelerate growth and operations. 
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues, optimize designs for efficiency, and incorporate innovative solutions that align with SpaceX's rapid iteration ethos.
• Stay up to date on the latest in civil engineering codes, permitting processes, and best practices to ensure Starbase's infrastructure supports our aggressive launch and development timelines.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering documentation processes, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline. 
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas, with the ability to stamp and certify plans.
• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, including project management, plan development, and permitting processes.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

• Experience in high-stakes, fast-paced environments such as aerospace, construction, or large-scale industrial developments.
• Familiarity with Texas-specific regulations, including those relevant to coastal or high-growth areas like Starbase.

REAL ESTATE ANALYST

SpaceX is growing our Facilities team with the addition of a Real Estate Analyst. SpaceX’s corporate real estate portfolio currently includes owned and leased properties that provide office space, manufacturing, support our test/launch/landing and related operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the facilities team with corporate and government real estate matters such as identifying prospective properties of interest, negotiating lease and own acquisitions, dispositions (terminations and subleases/assignments), exercising options and any related matters
• Work closely with Legal, Finance and other related departments to execute real estate transactions, including acceptable terms and conditions, timely and accurate payment, and required document and information delivery
• Maintain real estate database and files (hard copy and electronic) to ensure all required documentation, including legal documents and related correspondence, is properly stored and accessible
• Track and report key property portfolio details, such as contact information, area, location, key lease provisions, expirations and other critical dates
• Gather real estate market data to facilitate internal recommendations/decisions
• Correspond with landlords, property owners, neighbors, and brokers to maintain strong relationships, resolve issues, and negotiate property matters

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate or bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in corporate real estate, or 5+ years of corporate real estate experience without a degree

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Licensed real estate agent in CA, WA, TX, and/or FL
• Real Estate experience with NASA, United States Space Force, or other government agencies
• Contract management experience
• Real Estate Paralegal certificate

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing complex environmental projects from planning through execution and regulatory approval.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage wetland permitting across multiple sites and Corps Districts in accordance with USACE guidelines and the 1987 Wetlands Delineation Manual
• Prepare and submit Section 404/10 permits, including Individual Permits, Nationwide Permits, and Regional General Permits to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and state agencies
• Ensure compliance with the Clean Water Act (CWA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), and other relevant EPA and federal/state environmental regulations
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies (USACE, EPA, state environmental departments) and coordinate agency meetings, site visits, and jurisdictional determinations
• Manage multiple environmental projects simultaneously, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, client communication, and quality control.
• Provide guidance to project leads on regulatory guidelines and facilitate internal coordination on new projects
