PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of customer accounts receivable. This position collaborates closely with external customers and internal departments to ensure payments are received in a timely manner. This is a hybrid role based out of our Rocklin, CA headquarters, with in-office presence typically required on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with flexibility for additional in-office days as needed.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with multiple departments to manage accounts receivable, including milestone accounts, to ensure timely payments from customers through account statements, reconciliations, reminders, demand letters, and payment plans as needed.
• Manage and update the AR BI Report and other accounts receivable reports.
• Manage and maintain the A/R database, including all accounts receivable collection activity.
• Evaluate accounts receivable bad debt risks on a monthly basis and prepare write-off documents as needed.
• Support all company audits, including external auditors, internal auditors, and government agencies.
• Prepare documentation in the event of customer bankruptcy, including proof of claims.
• Manage Credit Security, e.g. UCC-1 filings, lien recordings, and associated renewals to secure the company's financial interests and collateral position.
• Assist Tax Manager with the collection and organization of documentation for tax filings, audits, and other supporting requirements.
• Support other accounting tasks such as Concur management, Amex reconciliation, check deposits, and accounts payable support as needed.
• Other duties as may be required or assigned.

REQUIRED RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree or relevant years of experience in accounting or finance required.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounts receivable experience.
• SAP experience required.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Root Cause Engineer, Medium Voltage is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining brand quality through root-cause analyses and collaboration with internal and external experts. This role supports SMA's commitment to evidence-based quality processes, working closely with cross-functional and international teams to drive sustainable corrective and preventive actions across the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in medium voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, and converters, along with a strong quality mindset and the ability to collaborate regularly with SMA's global headquarters in Germany.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure analyses are evidence-based, documented in compliance with standards, global processes, and aligned with the requirements of internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform and participate in technical failure and data analyses.
• Apply the 8D method for systematic root cause identification.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary and international teams to implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct initial field analyses, technical evaluations on site, and provide consultations.
• Create detailed failure descriptions and collaborate with headquarters to advise and support other functions.
• Recognize and document existing known failure patterns and provide technical expertise to resolve them.
• Collaborate closely with Customer Quality, Supplier Quality, and regional functions.
• Maintain close collaboration with the analysis unit at SMA headquarters as well as with the application engineering unit in the U.S.
• Execute, monitor, and evaluate corrective actions and measures implemented by the service team or suppliers.
• Travel to Rocklin-based offices, customer sites, and tradeshows as needed.
• Other duties as may be required or assigned.

REQUIRED RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or electrical engineering (Master's preferred) or related field, or similar education.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in research and development (R&D), technical failure analysis, and a background in quality management and customer relations.
• Technical expertise in medium voltage systems, transformer switchgear, electrical systems, converters, and hermetically sealed equipment.
• Expertise in the 8D method for corrective action and quality tools including 5-Why, Ishikawa diagramming, and Pareto analysis.
• Experience in solar, automotive, aerospace, electronics, or similar regulated industries.
• Ability to present quality findings and corrective actions to mid and senior-level management boards.
• Working knowledge of JIRA, Salesforce, SAP, and CRM is a plus.
• Background or sourcing experience with companies such as ABB, GE, Magnatec, Powin, or Eaton Transformers is a plus.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills across international teams.
• Acts with an entrepreneurial and solution-oriented mindset.
• Ability to travel regularly.
• Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is required. Proficiency in German is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Service Engineer is responsible for maintaining utility and commercial inverters, PV Solar equipment, and customer site equipment at an assigned onsite location. This is a full-time, onsite-only role based at a utility-scale solar site in Needville, TX. Candidates must reside within one hour of the site (102 J C Wicks, Needville, TX 77461).

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Commissions, troubleshoots, repairs, and analyzes utility and commercial inverters, PV Solar equipment, and customer site equipment in the field.
• Performs DC tracker system maintenance, panel replacement, substation switching, site inspections, and inverter system operations.
• Operates heavy equipment as required by site conditions and scope.
• Develops a detailed knowledge of SMA's and other utility and commercial inverter products, associated PV accessories, site equipment, and third-party accessories installed at the customer site.
• Maintains a working knowledge of applicable National Electric and Electrical Safety Codes (NEC, NFPA70E, NESC, OSHA).
• Regularly works with high voltage DC electricity, low and medium voltage three-phase power, SCADA or third-party monitoring, and the relevant software and firmware of inverter and site equipment.
• Performs O&M activities across the full scope of the site — not limited to inverter work.
• Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Other duties may be required or assigned.

REQUIRED RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• At least 2 years of experience in PV Solar and/or PV Solar O&M.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic, and/or network communications are required.
• O&M field experience strongly preferred; back-shop or shop electrical backgrounds also considered.
• California Electrical License or Electrical Contractors license preferred.
• NABCEP Certification is strongly preferred.
• An associate's degree or equivalent years of service in a technical field is strongly preferred.

OTHER SPECIALIZED SKILLS

• Knowledge of solar and/or alternative energy markets is preferred.
• Knowledge of National Electric Code(s) and Electrical Safety Code(s) is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is required. German and/or Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is required.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are required.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
• Ability to work from heights, on ladders, or lift equipment. Forklift experience a plus.
• On-call availability required; daily onsite presence is expected.
