About the role 

We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager – AI Platform to build and scale the internal developer platform that enables teams to ship AI-powered products faster. Your primary responsibility will be to improve how engineers build, test, and deploy products — by creating platform capabilities, tooling, and workflows that significantly increase developer velocity and reduce friction.

This is a hands-on, platform-focused role for a PM who loves thinking in systems, translating cutting-edge AI capabilities into smooth, secure, and joyful experiences for engineers, data scientists, and PMs alike. • Driving AI Platform Strategy: Define the roadmap for Skyscanner’s GenAI platform, spanning infrastructure and tooling, developer productivity, and observability.
• Leading with Security and Governance: Partner with security, compliance, and data governance teams to ensure responsible AI usage, privacy, and policy adherence across our stack.
• Powering AI-Ready Knowledge: Help build and scale Skyscanner’s knowledge graph, retrieval systems, and evaluation frameworks for both internal and traveller-facing AI use cases.
• Enabling Measurable Impact: Define and track metrics for platform reliability, usability, and developer delight, ensuring innovation scales responsibly.
• Collaborating Across Disciplines: Work hand-in-hand with ML engineers, data scientists, and PMs to turn platform magic into traveller impact. 

About you 

• Deeply Technical PM: You understand the nuts and bolts of developer experience, and knows how to walk the walk with engineering partners

• Platform Thinker: You’re at home in developer-facing environments and have shipped products or tools that improved engineering velocity, or workflow quality. 

• ModelOps Fluent: You know what it takes to operationalise AI — including evaluation frameworks, reproducibility, model registries, and the practical realities of scaling.

About the role

• Building smarter recommendation systems: You’ll join the team behind the ML systems that help millions of travellers find the right hotel or rental car — and you’ll keep raising the bar on relevance, quality, and performance.
• Owning the full journey: From fuzzy product questions to crisp modelling goals, you’ll run initiatives end-to-end: define what “good” looks like, build models, ship them, and iterate based on what the world tells us.
• Working where it matters: You’ll partner closely with Product and Engineering to get production systems into travellers’ hands (not just into notebooks).

What you’ll be doing

• Improving ranking & recommendations: You will design, build, and iterate on production ranking and recommendation systems across Hotels and Cars.
• Turning ambiguity into objectives: You will translate open-ended product challenges into clear modelling goals and hypotheses.
• Defining meaningful success: You will set success metrics that balance user value with marketplace and business outcomes.
• Running rigorous evaluation: You will design and analyse online experiments and offline evaluations to understand real impact.
• Applying statistical & causal reasoning: You will use strong statistical foundations (and causal thinking where it counts) to make confident, responsible decisions.
• Shipping with partners: You will work hand-in-hand with Product and Engineering to deploy, monitor, and improve systems in production.
• Communicating to influence: You will explain complex trade-offs clearly and help shape roadmap decisions with evidence.

About you

• Production-tested: You have 2+ years’ experience as a Data Scientist working in a production environment.
• Applied ML experience: You’ve worked on real-world machine learning or applied data science problems (bonus points if you have worked on ranking/recommender problems).
• Strong fundamentals: You bring solid foundations in statistics, machine learning, or quantitative analysis, and, you know when to use which tool.
• Hands-on with Python & SQL: You’re comfortable building in Python and querying data with SQL.
• Team-friendly engineer mindset: You’re familiar with collaborative development practices like version control and code review.
• Structured problem-solver: You can take an ambiguous problem, break it down methodically, and move it forward without needing a perfect brief.
• Thoughtful evaluator: You care about robust evaluation, including fairness and reliability considerations.

About the role

You’ll lead our mighty Metasearch Research team — the crew dedicated to understanding how travellers choose, compare, and book the best options across Flights, Hotels, Packages, and Cars. This role is all about elevating insight, shaping strategy, enabling great decision-making, and championing the traveller at every turn. Reporting directly to the Director of Research within our Customer Experience (CX) team, you’ll partner closely with Product and Design leaders to shape the future of decision-making across our marketplace.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading Strategic Research Initiatives: You’ll scout the horizon for the big questions before they land — designing forward-looking, mixed-method research that unlocks long-term business opportunities.
