Skylight is seeking an User Enablement Specialist to support a federal organization as it modernizes a suite of technology systems used nationwide to deliver critical services.
This role is embedded within a growing ecosystem of modern digital products that are replacing legacy platforms at a program within the Administration for Children and Families. The specialist will ensure users across government staff, service providers, and partner organizations can successfully adopt new tools, workflows, and ways of working — with minimal disruption and maximum impact.
This is a hands-on enablement role at the intersection of training, service delivery, user support, and product development. You’ll work closely with product teams, government stakeholders, and end users to translate complex systems into usable, well-supported experiences.

At Skylight, content designers work on cross-functional teams to strategize and advocate for user-centered content practices, plain language, and inclusivity, all while delivering on business objectives. The work can range from a standalone piece of content, to supporting an end-to-end service journey. Content designers also help design content governance strategies and workflows in a user-centered context.
In this role, you'll hit the ground running in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment — coordinating immediately with researchers, designers, engineers, and government stakeholders to deliver against an ambitious vision from day one. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, change management, enablement, and service delivery, and demands someone who can orient quickly, build trust across teams, and ensure new digital capabilities are not only built, but understood, usable, and sustained.

At Skylight, product designers play a critical role in understanding the problem space, identifying opportunities, and developing solutions using a lean-agile approach. Product designers are the primary user advocate on their team and engage in continuous research throughout the product life cycle. Working end-to-end from concept to implementation, product designers conduct research, facilitate design activities, and ensure the product team is building the right thing.
In this role, you’ll partner with a mission-critical organization within the U.S. Air Force Special Operations community to modernize complex user experience journeys that underpin highly specialized operations. Leveraging your strengths in human-centered design and digital modernization, you’ll help deliver secure, scalable solutions that measurably improve usability, operational efficiency, and mission readiness. You will be responsible for managing and scaling a portfolio of software applications for the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) through our BESPIN partnership. Your primary focus will be on mobile application UI/UX design and user discovery.

At Skylight, product designers advocate for users, uncover opportunities, and turn insights into designs that improve how government delivers services. They work end-to-end, from research and concepts through implementation, ensuring services are usable, accessible, and sustainable.
As a product designer on this project, you’ll collaborate across disciplines to research user needs, define flows and interactions, and design accessible interfaces that scale. You’ll contribute to and evolve design systems, prototype ideas to reduce risk, and ensure design decisions are grounded in evidence. Just as importantly, you’ll prepare federal teams to sustain these improvements by sharing knowledge and practices that last — from training and enablement to reusable tools like templates, playbooks, and decision records.
