We’re seeking a Senior Environment Technical Artist to help build, optimize, and scale large, living worlds. Working with designers, engineers and artists, you will own critical environment systems and workflows that enable artists to create beautiful, performant content at scale.

This role is ideal for a technical artist with a strong environment background who can leverage proceduralism and data to solve problems. Someone who enjoys building robust tools, authoring high-quality materials, and world-building resolutions.

What You’ll Do

• Drive asset optimization strategies, identifying performance bottlenecks and implementing solutions across 3d assets, materials, foliage, and world systems.
• Support and refine the housing setup workflows, enabling modular, customizable, and performant player-built spaces.
• Foster and evolve material creation and maintenance workflows. Ensure materials are performant, scalable, and easy for artists to use.

Nous recherchons un artiste technique spécialisé dans les environnements, passionné par la création d'outils, l'amélioration des flux de travail et le soutien aux équipes créatives qui donnent vie à nos univers. Il s'agit d'un poste temporaire d'une durée de 12 mois proposé par notre agence partenaire. 
Vous collaborerez avec des ingénieurs, des artistes et des artistes techniques afin de développer et de maintenir les pipelines, les scripts et les automatisations qui permettent à notre équipe artistique spécialisée dans les environnements de fournir un contenu magnifique, performant et efficace.

Ce poste est idéal pour un artiste technique qui aime résoudre des problèmes, créer des outils et faire le lien entre l'art et l'ingénierie.

Ce que vous ferez

• Développer et maintenir des outils de pipeline pour les artistes environnementaux et les artistes techniques, en rationalisant la création, l'intégration et la validation des ressources.
• Collaborer étroitement avec les ingénieurs, les artistes environnementaux et les équipes de conception afin d'identifier les besoins et de les traduire en solutions techniques.
• Contribuer à l'amélioration des flux de travail artistiques et des processus, en garantissant la cohérence, l'évolutivité et la facilité d'utilisation au sein de l'équipe.
• Participer au profilage et à l'optimisation des performances, y compris les matériaux, les shaders et l'organisation des scènes dans Unreal Engine.
• Soutenir l'intégration de contenu, en aidant les artistes à déboguer et à résoudre les problèmes techniques dans la production quotidienne.
• Documenter les outils et les flux de travail, en veillant à ce que les nouvelles fonctionnalités soient bien comprises et accessibles à l'ensemble de l'équipe.
• Prototyper de nouvelles idées qui améliorent l'efficacité, la flexibilité créative ou la qualité visuelle.

Qui vous êtes

• Vous avez de l'expérience en tant qu'artiste technique dans le développement de jeux avec Unreal Engine.
• Vous maîtrisez le langage C++ pour Unreal Engine ou le code avancé Unreal Blueprint, utilisé pour le développement d'outils ou l'automatisation.
• Vous connaissez bien les pipelines d'actifs de jeux, notamment la modélisation, la texturation, les matériaux et l'intégration de niveaux.
• Vous savez trouver le juste équilibre entre les besoins artistiques et les contraintes techniques, afin de garantir que les actifs soient à la fois esthétiques et performants.
• Vous êtes doué pour résoudre les problèmes en collaboration et vous communiquez aisément avec les autres disciplines.
• Vous êtes curieux, proactif et motivé pour apprendre des autres artistes techniques et ingénieurs afin d'élargir votre champ technique et créatif.
• Vous êtes connu pour prendre des initiatives : vous repérez ce qui pourrait être amélioré et vous créez l'outil ou le flux de travail nécessaire pour y parvenir.

Atouts appréciés :

• Expérience avec Python ou d'autres langages de script utilisés pour le développement de jeux.
• Connaissance des API d'outils DCC tels que Maya, Blender ou Houdini.
• Expérience dans le développement de jeux cosy, de simulation ou multijoueurs.

Forge alternate worlds that deepen players' lives!

We’re seeking an Environment Technical Artist with a passion for building tools, improving workflows, and supporting the creative teams that bring our worlds to life. This is a 12-month temporary position through our partner agency. 
You’ll collaborate with engineers, artists, and tech artists to develop and maintain the pipelines, scripts, and automation that empower our environment art team to deliver beautiful, performant, and efficient content.

This role is ideal for a Tech Artist who enjoys solving problems, writing tools, and bridging the gap between art and engineering.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain pipeline tools for environment artists and technical artists, streamlining asset creation, integration, and validation.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, environment artists, and design teams to recognize needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Contribute to art workflows and process improvements, ensuring consistency, scalability, and ease of use across the team.
• Assist with performance profiling and optimization, including materials, shaders, and scene organization within Unreal Engine.
• Support content integration, helping artists debug and resolve technical issues in daily production.
• Document tools and workflows, ensuring new features are well-understood and accessible to the broader team.
• Prototype new ideas that enhance efficiency, creative flexibility, or visual quality.
• Participate in technical reviews and planning, providing feedback and insight into process bottlenecks and potential improvements

Who You Are

• You have experience working as a Technical Artist in game development with Unreal Engine.
• You have scripting skills in C++ for Unreal Engine or advanced Unreal Blueprint code, used for tool development or automation.
• You are familiar with game asset pipelines, including modeling, texturing, materials, and level integration.
• You can balance artistic needs with technical constraints, helping ensure assets are both visually appealing and performant.
• You’re a collaborative problem solver, comfortable communicating across disciplines.
• You’re curious, proactive, and motivated to learn from other tech artists and engineers to expand your technical and creative range.
• You’re known for taking initiative - seeing something that could be improved, and building the tool or workflow to make it better.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Python or other scripting languages used for game development.
• Familiarity with DCC tool APIs such as Maya, Blender, or Houdini.
• Background in cozy, simulation, or multiplayer game development.

Compensation Information:
