Position Summary

SingleStore engineers build the real-time data platform that enables some of the world’s most demanding applications. Our cloud-native database architecture enables high-performance transactional and analytical workloads at scale.

Our Software Engineers work on small, collaborative teams to help drive our company forward.  Whether you’re improving the fault tolerance a SingleStore cluster, accelerating the performance of SQL queries with techniques like SIMD vectorization and LLVM codeGen, or writing search and costing modules for the query optimizer, our engineers are responsible for building systems critical to high performance workloads.

Note: This role is open across multiple levels. Final leveling (Senior, Staff, or Principal) will be determined based on experience, scope of impact, and demonstrated technical leadership throughout the interview process.

What you'll do:

• Develop database engine features based on company direction and customer requests to ensure that requirements are met in a timely manner 
• Deliver bug-free code in a low-level, unmanaged memory C++ environment
• Translate high-level customer requirements into actionable and deliverable software features
• Learn, propose, and adapt cutting-edge technologies from across industry and academia into SingleStore’s database architecture for ensuring optimal performance and throughput for customer workloads in both analytical and transactional scenarios
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans to evaluate database engine functionality, ensuring thorough coverage and accuracy, using Python, C++, and SQL
• Use low-level debugging techniques including GDB and Flame graphs to fix  problems and improve performance
• Work on distributed systems algorithms and problems/components of core database engine behind SingleStore
• Take part in code reviews and design reviews for the purpose of software quality assurance

Your Experience:

• 4+ years of experience developing and debugging system-level software in unmanaged languages like C++ or Rust
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to design and build highly reliable, high-performance system software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of database architecture and operating systems
• Familiarity with distributed systems managed via Kubernetes

Role Summary

We are looking for a Software Engineer to design and implement core platform capabilities for AI/ML and AI Agents in SingleStore Cloud. You’ll work on services that enable model/tool orchestration (e.g.  MCP style tool discovery and execution), agent workflows, retrieval pipelines (embeddings/vector search), evaluation/observability, and secure multi tenant operations.

You will likely find yourself using Go and Python, Kubernetes, cloud primitives, and the right tools for the job,  while applying solid AI/ML fundamentals to make correct engineering decisions.

Role and Responsibilities

• Build and evolve backend services that power AI features: agent orchestration, tool execution, retrieval/RAG pipelines, and model serving integrations.
• Design APIs and control plane workflows for AI platform components (tenant-aware, secure by default, observable).
• Implement MCP style tool discovery / integration patterns so agents can safely call tools, connectors, and internal services.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, customers, and partner engineering teams to deliver high quality AI experiences.
• Engineer for reliability and scale: latency, cost controls, rate limiting, fallbacks, rollouts, and incident response readiness.
• Establish best practices around evaluation: offline test sets, regression detection, prompt/model/version tracking, and quality gates.
• Contribute to secure AI by design approaches: permissions, data access boundaries, prompt injection defenses, and auditability.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a welcoming, high ownership team environment.

Required Skills and Experience

This is a software engineering role that requires strong fundamentals plus working knowledge of AI/ML concepts.

• Strong software engineering skills with experience in distributed systems (Go, Python, or similar).
• Experience building cloud native services: Kubernetes, containers, service-to-service APIs, CI/CD.
• 4+ years of experience working on a SaaS product or production platform.
• Solid understanding of AI/ML fundamentals (you don’t need to be a researcher, but you should understand concepts well enough to build correct systems):
• Supervised learning basics (training vs inference, overfitting, evaluation metrics, classification, anomaly detection, forecasting, regression etc.)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Helios team and play a critical role in designing and delivering core capabilities for SingleStore’s cloud-managed service. This is a senior technical leadership role with end-to-end ownership of large, release-defining projects at the intersection of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and database technology.

The focus of this role is on cloud based metering and billing for all Helios products and features. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the bookkeeping system and integrations that powers millions in cloud revenue with extreme attention to detail.

SingleStore is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to help optimize and scale our managed service offering across all three major cloud providers. In this role, you will be at the intersection of leading technology trends – A highly performant distributed database, managed by Kubernetes, running in the cloud.  This is a great opportunity to push the boundaries with a cloud-focused SRE role.  

This is a development role, requiring an engineering mindset to solve operational challenges.  You will be part of a globally distributed team of engineers, helping to drive SRE practices across the company.  Through infrastructure automation, you will help us grow our service across multiple cloud platforms.  This requires a relentless focus on eliminating manual processes.  You will also leverage our monitoring platform to improve the overall customer experience by systematically identifying and fixing any issues impacting our customers.  As an SRE, you will also help diagnose issues on the platform, leveraging a deep understanding of the SingleStore query engine along with the backend infrastructure.  

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop automation platform to manage infrastructure rollouts across cloud providers
• Optimize telemetry platform to identify customer impacting events while providing relevant data to drive debugging
• Partner with engineering team to optimize performance of services for cloud architecture
• Debug Live Site events and conduct follow-up postmortem and RCA analysis
• Participate in an SLA-driven on-call rotation, which will include after-hours, weekend, and rotating holiday participation.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5 years of demonstrated experience working as a Site Reliability Engineer
• Infrastructure automation experience. Scripting experience (Python, Bash) a plus.
• Experience with the Prometheus monitoring stack. Experience with Grafana, Mimir and Loki is a plus.
