Venture Builder-in-Residence
(Think: a rotational fellowship for the next generation of founders and operators.)
As a Venture Builder-in-Residence, you’ll plug directly into Shaper Capital’s portfolio companies to tackle the most urgent, high-impact business priorities. Whether it’s helping a founder stand up a new business vertical, scaling critical ops during a period of hypergrowth, exploring new M&A opportunities, or launching a zero-to-one product initiative, you’ll be on the front lines of building. This role is designed as a rotational program—when one critical initiative is complete, you’ll move to the next.
Over time, you'll have the opportunity to embed permanently within a portfolio company, or even start a Shaper-backed company of your own.
This is a unique opportunity for an exceptional, athletic generalist to accelerate their trajectory by working across multiple early-stage companies, getting direct exposure to top-tier founders, investors, and operators, and learning how great companies are built from the inside.

Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic, high-performing Head of Talent Acquisition to establish and lead a world-class recruiting function that attracts top talent across our entire portfolio. Reporting into our COO, you’ll build the engine that helps Shaper's companies find founding and executive talent fast and reliably, and make Shaper the place that every builder wants to join. This is a high-agency, high-impact work - owning the full founding hire playbook in support of our CEOs at launch while scaling a platform for executive, generalist, and technical talent across the portfolio.
For founding teams, you will be responsible for the entire recruiting lifecycle for our CEOs, including sourcing, managing external recruiters, interviewing, process design, and running end-to-end hiring processes across diverse roles and industries; this will include both technical and business roles. Role Overview:
We’re building a “CFO-in-Residence” program to identify and cultivate the next wave of finance leaders for Shaper’s portfolio. This is a unique opportunity for strategic finance professionals to work across multiple early-stage, venture-backed startups—initially supporting them on a fractional basis, and over time, growing into full-time Head of Finance or CFO roles as mutual fit emerges.
As CFO-in-Residence, you’ll partner closely with founders to build the financial foundation of their companies. You might help close a fundraise, set up financial systems, build operating models, or shape pricing and monetization strategies. Each tour of duty is high-leverage, fast-paced, and critical to company success.
This role requires someone who thrives in early-stage environments, is eager to solve complex financial challenges, and is comfortable operating both at a strategic level and in the financial trenches.
