• Strong understanding of how data platforms are designed and operated (e.g., medallion architecture, lambda architecture, data vault concepts) not as an academic expert, but someone who can proactively contribute and provide direction in technical discussions.
• Proven ability to drive data-driven decision making, define quality metrics, and hold teams accountable to outcomes.
• Experience working effectively with both frontline engineers and executives, translating between technical detail and business impact.
• Comfort owning ambiguous problem spaces where correctness, attribution, and accuracy matter as much as speed.
• Prior experience in cybersecurity, data science, compliance, or statistics is preferred
• Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience required; MBA and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join our Platform team — a strategic, hands-on technical leader who will own and evolve the foundational systems that power SecurityScorecard’s core products. You’ll work across the stack to build scalable services, optimize infrastructure, and improve internal tooling. Collaborating with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders, you will accelerate development velocity, improve reliability, and ensure our platform evolves with scale in mind.

This role is both people- and technology-focused: you’ll mentor engineers while guiding complex technical initiatives around microservices architecture, distributed systems, infrastructure, and automation.

What You'll Do:

Technical Leadership:

• Architect, design, and build scalable platform components using Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, and React
• Build and maintain distributed systems, real-time pipelines, and core microservices to support platform growth
• Lead code and architecture reviews to uphold high standards for reliability, performance, and maintainability
• Contribute to and drive adoption of modern infrastructure practices — CI/CD, containerization (Docker), ArgoCD, Terraform, GitHub Actions
• Own and deliver impactful projects end-to-end, translating business needs and R&D insights into scalable technical solutions

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend systems, platform services, or infrastructure
• Expertise in Node.js and modern development patterns (TypeScript/JavaScript)
• Solid experience designing and scaling distributed systems with strong focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and production-grade deployments

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager — a strategic, hands-on leader who will own the foundational systems that power our products. You'll lead a highly skilled team of backend, infrastructure, and full-stack engineers focused on building scalable services, improving developer velocity, and enabling teams to deliver great customer experiences. The role is based in Austin,TX and requires you to work in our Austin office (currently close to UT Austin) 3 days per week.
