THE OPPORTUNITY:

At Clari + Salesloft, our Manager, Application Security will be pivotal to our company’s success.  You will be a foundational leader within our information security team, tasked with building and leading a world-class group of AppSec Engineers. Your mission is to move beyond tactical fixes and architect a secure-by-default culture across our entire engineering organization.

As a leader at Salesloft, you will have radical ownership of the AppSec function. We are looking for a "manager-of-one" who can navigate ambiguity and execute a long-term vision without needing a playbook provided for them.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

• Lead & Scale: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of Application Security Engineers.
• Program Ownership: Design and execute the long-term AppSec roadmap, including Secure SDLC, threat modeling, and automated guardrails.
• Strategic Influence: Serve as a peer to Engineering Leaders, ensuring security is a first-class citizen in the product roadmap.
• Incident Management: Act as the primary escalation point for application-level security events, leading the team through containment and root-cause analysis.
• Vendor & Community Management: Oversee our Bug Bounty program, external penetration testing partners, and security tooling vendors (SAST, DAST, SCA).
• Evangelize Security: Build a "Security Champions" program to scale security knowledge across the broader development team.

THE TEAM:

Our  Clari + Salesloft Information Security  team is comprised of seasoned and up-and-coming security professionals who are all aligned on one vision and mission:

THE SKILL SET:

• 8+ years of overall experience in Information Security with an emphasis on Application Security.
• Independent Execution: Proven track record of taking messy, undefined security challenges and turning them into streamlined, repeatable processes without hand-holding.
• Technical Depth: Strong understanding of web application security (OWASP Top 10), common attack vectors, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Navigating Ambiguity: Ability to make high-stakes decisions and prioritize the team's workload based on business risk, even with incomplete data.
• Low-Friction Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage upward effectively, providing proactive results and strategic updates rather than requiring step-by-step guidance.
• Collaboration: A "Team Over Self" mentality with the ability to influence senior engineering leadership without formal authority.
• Relevant Certifications: CSSLP, CISSP, or GWEB are highly desirable.
• AI Enablement: Find and implement AI solutions to enhance the Application Security and Engineering Teams capabilities and ability to execute.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

At Clari + Salesloft, our Manager, Security Engineering and Operations will be pivotal to our company’s success.  You will be a foundational leader within our information security team, tasked with building and leading a world-class group of Security Analysts and Security Engineers. Your mission is to lead the talented analysts who defend our environment (Ops) and the expert engineers who build our security infrastructure (Eng). 

We want a "builder"—someone who thrives in high-trust, high-autonomy environments. You will be the primary engine for our defensive strategy, expected to define the "how" once we’ve agreed on the "what." You aren't waiting for a playbook; you are writing it.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

• Lead and Mentor: Manage a hybrid team of analysts and engineers, providing technical guidance, career development, and performance coaching.
• Program Oversight: Oversee the vulnerability management lifecycle, ensuring that scanning, triaging, and remediation efforts are executed with precision.
• Bridge the Gap: Ensure that Security Engineering is building the preventive/detective controls that Security Operations actually needs to be effective.
• Strategic Automation: Drive the "Automation and AI" mindset, moving the team away from manual triage toward automated detection, response, and remediation.
• Incident & Infrastructure Leadership: Serve as the escalation point for incidents while simultaneously overseeing the design and deployment of our security stack (SIEM, CNAPP, SWG, EDR, Vulnerability Scanners).
• Cross-Functional Influence: Partner with Engineering and Infrastructure to integrate security into the Salesloft architecture, ensuring our production environment is "secure by default."
• Executive Visibility: Translate technical engineering projects and operational risks into business context for the CISO and executive leadership.

Security Operations: Assist with the team’s security operations work load as needed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Most importantly, we need a leader with radical ownership—someone who can navigate ambiguity and execute a long-term roadmap without step-by-step oversight.

THE TEAM:

Our  Clari + Salesloft Information Security  team is comprised of seasoned and up-and-coming security professionals.

THE SKILL SET:

• 8+ years of overall experience in Security Engineering or Operations
• Technical Mastery: Professional working knowledge of our stack (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, Postgres) sufficient to architect solutions and conduct deep-dive architecture risk reviews.
• Process Excellence: Experience building or maturing a vulnerability management program across source code, open source dependencies, containers, and cloud infrastructure.
• AI Adoption & Innovation: An innovative mindset dedicated to driving AI-centric improvements across the security stack. You should be passionate about leveraging AI to automate repetitive tasks, enhance predictive detection, and ensure our security architecture evolves alongside AI-driven advancements in the industry
• Data-Driven Leadership: Ability to analyze security metrics (MTTR, vulnerability burn-down rates, etc) to drive continuous improvement.
• Low-Friction Leadership: Proven ability to manage upward effectively, providing proactive updates and results rather than requiring constant management oversight.
• Detection Engineering: Experience identifying Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and turning them into actionable alerting for the Ops team.
• SaaS & Compliance: Deep familiarity with SaaS environments and evidencing controls for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
• Communication: Strong ability to communicate technical risk to non-technical stakeholders and influence cross-functional outcomes.

Project Management: Ability to design and execute on projects via trackable work product and consistent methodology. 

• Certifications: CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, or GCIH/GCIA are highly preferred.
• Threat Modeling: Ability to mentor and lead the engineering team in conducting threat modeling and risk reviews of constantly evolving technical infrastructure.
