About the Role

As the Team Lead for the Forward Deployed AI Engineering Team, you will serve as a hands-on Player/Coach, leading a customer-facing AI engineering and scientist group responsible for deploying and scaling Rhino’s Federated Computing Platform (FCP) in complex, real-world environments. You will maintain a direct, hands-on contribution by working with customers’ technical and research teams to design, implement, and optimize federated AI models and systems. Critically, you will also coach, mentor, and manage a team of applied AI engineers, guiding them through federated model training, inference, deployment, and monitoring, while helping customers unlock the full potential of federated data collaboration. Your leadership will shape how federated AI is operationalized at scale. 

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the design and delivery of federated AI solutions across imaging, text, and structured data domains.
• Design and implement federated training and inference pipelines, integrating data preprocessing, model orchestration, and AIOps tooling.
• Own project execution from scoping to deployment — ensuring clarity, speed, and technical excellence.

Customer Engagement & Enablement

• Partner directly with customers to understand workflows, map data ecosystems, and design scalable AI solutions.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor on privacy-preserving ML, model optimization, and deployment best practices.
  Build long-term relationships that drive adoption and measurable outcomes for customer programs.

Team Leadership 

• Manage multiple concurrent engagements, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on problem-solving.
• Provide mentorship to Forward Deployed Engineers and Scientists, fostering a high-performance, learning-driven culture.

Product Feedback & Innovation

• Identify reusable solution patterns and contribute to the standardization of federated AI workflows.
• Surface customer insights and field feedback that shape Rhino’s roadmap.
• Collaborate with product and research teams to prototype and validate new federated learning research and frameworks.

Required Skills

• Experience: 5+ years in applied AI, machine learning engineering, or MLOps roles; experience deploying models in production environments.
• Technical Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) and AI/MLOps ecosystems.
• Generative AI Tools: Familiarity with LLM frameworks (GPT, Gemini, Claude, LangChain, agentic frameworks, etc.).
• Programming & Systems: Strong proficiency in Python, REST APIs, and data systems (SQL/NoSQL); comfort with cloud computing and GPU-based systems.
• Delivery Focus: Proven ability to own technical outcomes end-to-end, from scoping and prototyping to full-scale delivery.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate across customer, product, and engineering teams.
• Mindset: Action-oriented, adaptable, and able to prioritize effectively in fast-changing environments.

Preferred Skills

• Industry experience in healthcare, biopharma, financial services, and public sector.
• Ph.D. or M.S. in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Engineering, Biomedical Informatics, Bioinformatics, Chemistry, or related).
• Prior experience deploying federated learning, privacy-preserving AI, or secure distributed computing systems.

Boston preferred, but open to other locations for highly qualified candidates.

About the Role

As a Deployment Strategist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery and expansion of some of our most strategic customer deployments. This role sits at the heart of our customer programs and serves as the key driver of deployment execution, delivery governance, and cross-functional alignment.

You will act as the orchestrator across internal teams (Engineering, Product, Solutions, Delivery, Support, Customer Success, and Commercial) and customer stakeholders to ensure that customer goals translate into successful, scalable, and measurable outcomes. You will deeply understand customer environments, program goals, timelines, dependencies, and risks—and ensure that the right decisions, prioritization, and escalation happen at the right time.

This is not a hands-on implementation role, but it requires strong technical fluency, strong stakeholder leadership, and high ownership. You will lead complex programs with multiple workstreams and ensure that we execute with clarity, accountability, and predictability.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Program Ownership

• Own customer deployment programs end-to-end across discovery, planning, execution, go-live readiness, and ongoing expansion initiatives.
• Develop a deep understanding of customer goals, use cases, operating model, and technical landscape in order to shape realistic deployment strategies and success plans.
• Partner with customer stakeholders to align on milestones, rollout sequencing, and readiness criteria.

Program Planning & Execution

• Define and maintain project plans, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple workstreams and teams.
• Drive execution discipline by leading recurring program cadences (status reviews, workstream syncs, risk reviews, stakeholder updates).
• Ensure clear ownership, accountability, and follow-through across internal and external stakeholders.

Technical Gap Identification & Risk Management

• Identify technical gaps, blockers, and areas of ambiguity early and drive resolution through the appropriate teams.
• Proactively manage risks, escalation paths, and scope control—ensuring that issues are surfaced early and addressed before they become delivery failures.
• Ensure that deployment decisions account for both short-term success and long-term scalability.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Act as the connective tissue between customer reality and internal execution—ensuring accurate expectations, clean handoffs, and strong ownership across teams.

Customer Success & Outcomes

• Ensure deployments lead to measurable customer outcomes, adoption readiness, and long-term operational success.
• Drive go-live readiness criteria and ensure the customer is prepared for success post-deployment.
• Partner with Customer Engagement and Delivery leadership to ensure customers receive proactive attention when adoption or outcomes are at risk.

Required Skills

Experience & Core Capabilities

• 5+ years of experience in program management, solutions delivery, implementation leadership, technical account leadership, or similar roles in a B2B SaaS or deep-tech environment.
• Proven experience leading complex customer programs with multiple workstreams and executive-level stakeholders.
• Strong ability to drive accountability across cross-functional teams, including teams you do not manage directly.

Technical Fluency

• Strong technical understanding of software deployments and delivery processes (e.g., APIs, data pipelines, cloud environments, integrations, authentication, BI/reporting workflows).

About the Role

We are seeking a visionary and authoritative Solutions Architect to set the technical solution and architectural strategy for Federated Computing AI across our customer base and product development. You will act as a trusted technical expert, defining architectural standards, providing thought leadership, and serving as a primary technical advisor for strategic accounts. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Forward Deployed Engineering, and Product teams, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to the broader Delivery team to ensure excellence in architectural integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Define a technical vision, architectural best practices, and repeatable patterns for the deployment of the Rhino Federated Computing Platform.
• Act as an escalation point for the Delivery team, helping to resolve the complex technical and architectural challenges.
• Provide technical thought leadership to technical and senior technical client stakeholders, contributing to the shaping of their long-term AI and data strategy and acting as a trusted advisor on complex architectural decisions.
• Oversee the development of foundational, reusable reference architectures and deployment best practices that scale for Rhino’s solution portfolio.
• Showcase the Rhino value proposition through presentations, meetings, and written artifacts in coordination with the Rhino sales and product teams.
• Create customer-specific documents, presentations, guides, and blogs demonstrating advanced capabilities of the Rhino platform.
• Scope, and at times execute pilots for highly complex customer engagements and nurture strong customer relationships during the product evaluation and review process.
• Provide critical feedback and collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to address customer issues with a focus on strategic product improvements.

Required Skills

• 8-10+ years of progressive experience in technical architecture and engineering roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in large-scale, complex system design and architecture, with a proven track record of setting technical direction and successfully launching enterprise-grade platforms.
• A history of successfully influencing product roadmap through synthesis of customer requirements and market trends.
• Hands-on experience with Cloud, Data Platform, or AI platform technologies.
• Experience in delivering live prototypes using platform products.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex customer needs simultaneously.

• Deep AI Workflow Knowledge - Modeling, Instruction Tuning, Fine tuning, and Inference.
• Data Engineering stack.
