Real Chemistry is looking for a Senior Director to join our growing team!
Our Senior Directors are fundamental for directing programmes across the Real Chemistry ‘One Medical’ business. This position is perfect for a visionary leader who can use their extensive team leadership experience, therapy area and scientific expertise, and strong strategic thinking skills to define cutting-edge strategies and ensure excellence in all deliverables across the Medical team.
Senior Directors thrive in shaping the future of the business and fostering a dynamic, supportive, and innovative environment. Our Senior Directors have the opportunity to specialise in content development, team leadership, team development, and/or strategic thinking.
What you’ll do:
- Therapy area and scientific expertise: Direct internal programmes related to therapy area and scientific expertise across the global ‘One Medical’ team
- Strategic thinking: Define strategy on new and complex business proposals in
collaboration with senior team members - Client relationships: Proactively act as trusted advisor for clients and internal teams across Real Chemistry
- Managing and advising:
- Lead, shape and direct medical teams to deliver a range of assets whilst fostering an environment of intellectual curiosity
- Ensure that processes and team structures result in the highest quality of
deliverables - Coaching and mentoring:
- Foster a culture of mentorship across the agency
- Collaborate with agency leaders to direct mentoring programmes across the
agency - Overarching planning to meet KPIs/timelines/budget: Promote development of best practices for project management and content delivery to ensure exceptional quality across the Medical team
- Financial and resource management
- Plan resource allocation across the Medical function, fostering inter-agency
cooperation and sharing of resources and expertise to amplify collective
efficiency and effectiveness - Define and refine processes for financial management of accounts

What you should have:
- You should bring previous extensive experience within medical education including roles that involved management of multiple large teams of medical writers and/or strategists
- Proven record of building strong client relationships and growing business opportunities
- A profound understanding of healthcare, science, medicine, and the pharmaceutical industry is essential
- A high level of academic achievement is expected
- You’ll need to be personable, articulate, and capable of nurturing relationships, with a knack for delivering persuasive presentations

Working with Real HART: Since the pandemic, we have adapted to how our people told us they want to work. We have office locations in cities in the US, UK, and Europe with many employees and clients that serve as hubs where and when they need us. For employees who are within an hour of one of our offices, we expect attendance in the office two days per week, either at a Real Chemistry office or onsite with clients. We are also actively opening new office locations, so if one opens near you, our Real HART policy will apply. Senior Medical Writer
Our Senior Medical Writers are responsible for driving day-to-day project delivery (with support from others) within an account in order to create outstanding medical content across a variety of therapy areas. This position is ideal for an experienced writer who has a passion for scientific and medical developments, a keen interest in AI, and who enjoys tackling new problems, interacting with clients, and mentoring internal team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Scientific knowledge:
- Confidently steps into new therapeutic areas
- Starting to lead discussions with clients and external experts on therapy area, drivers which influence treatment decision-making and patient pathways
- Strategic knowledge: Helps to lead meetings and strategic discussions with clients
- AI
- Proactively utilizes a broad range of AI solutions to streamline complex projects, with support from others
- Evaluates and implements AI-driven solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of projects, identifying opportunities for improvement and collaborating with team members to optimize project delivery
- Provides guidance and training to team members on best practice
- Project ownership:
- Leads content delivery for complex projects with supervision from senior team, delegating to AMW/MWs as needed and where appropriate to ensure timely execution to a high standard
- Skilled in achieving communications objectives by employing a broad range of channels and formats
- Project development:
- Interrogates briefs from clients/internal teams and proactively flags any queries or potential issues
- Applies critical thinking skills towards a project brief to achieve deliverables in a timely and efficient manner
- Provides a proactive, solution-focused approach towards resolving queries, and addressing feedback
- Initiates discussions with Account Teams regarding potential barriers to successful project completion that may arise
- Editorial:
- Develops compelling narratives from complex information
- Structures and writes novel projects that may not have been executed previously
- Quality control:
- Takes responsibility for overall quality of deliverables with supervision from senior team
- Reviews JMWs’ work for adherence to brief, client objectives and quality of writing, providing constructive feedback
- On site: Leads elements of the on-site programme across a variety of events with support from others
- Client liaison: Leads scientific discussion with clients and external experts as appropriate to capture briefs, resolve queries, and progress scientific content development in timely and efficient manner
- Growth and new business
- Supports development of scientific content for new therapeutic areas for new business
- Proactively identifies new business opportunities with new and existing clients
- Project management: Provides timely and accurate communication to accounts team on writer hours, and project progress
- Teamwork: Trains/mentors junior writers on account-specific therapy area knowledge and processes
Qualifications and skills
- You should bring a strong scientific background with a degree in a scientific or medical discipline (post-graduate degree preferred). A high level of academic achievement is expected
- You should bring previous experience of medical writing at an MW level or above
- A passion for, and profound understanding of, healthcare, science, medicine, and the pharmaceutical industry is essential, as well as a keen interest in AI technologies
- You’ll need to be personable, articulate, and capable of nurturing relationships. Previous experience mentoring MWs and interacting regularly with clients is essential
