You will work on systems and tooling at the intersection of trading infrastructure and market microstructure. The role focuses on building data pipelines, analytics and libraries that support execution analysis and improve trading performance. You will operate close to the trading stack, working with high resolution datasets and contributing to both research and production systems.

Your future role within QRT

• Analyse trading behaviour across venues to identify execution inefficiencies and improve latency and fill performance
• Develop Python libraries, data pipelines and tooling to process exchange protocols, order flow and large scale trading data
• Build analytical frameworks, metrics and monitoring tools to evaluate execution quality and system performance
• Contribute to production systems supporting live trading, including data validation, pipeline reliability and real time monitoring
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate analytical insights into measurable improvements in execution performance
• Work with research and infrastructure teams to support ongoing development of execution analysis and market behaviour understanding

Your present skillset

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related quantitative field
• 7+ years of professional experience in Python development, building libraries, data platforms or analytical tooling
• Strong experience working with large scale and time series datasets using tools such as NumPy and Pandas
• Solid SQL knowledge and experience working with analytical databases
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to investigate complex data and system behaviours
• Ability to translate analytical or trading related problems into robust engineering solutions
• Experience working in Linux environments and applying software engineering best practices such as testing, version control and continuous integration
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with financial markets, electronic trading or execution analysis
• Exposure to network protocols, packet analysis or performance optimisation techniques is beneficial
• Experience with lower level programming languages such as C, C++ or Rust is advantageous

You will work on securing AI systems across the firm, including LLM-powered applications, AI tooling, agents, and supporting infrastructure. The role focuses on embedding security into the design, development, and operation of AI systems, working closely with engineering and platform teams to enable safe and scalable adoption. This is a hands-on role covering threat modelling, architecture review, and implementation of security controls across complex, evolving systems.

Your future role within QRT

• Partner with engineering and platform teams to define and implement security for AI and LLM-based systems
• Perform threat modelling, architecture reviews, and security assessments for AI use cases
• Design and implement security controls for AI applications, agents, model integrations, and data flows
• Define secure patterns for access control, secrets management, logging, monitoring, and safe execution
• Assess risks including prompt injection, data leakage, excessive permissions, and third-party AI dependencies
• Contribute to reusable security patterns, guidance, and guardrails for teams building AI systems
• Support security testing, vendor assessments, and incident response for AI-enabled applications

Your present skillset

• Strong understanding of systems engineering and architecture in complex environments
• Experience applying security controls across applications, infrastructure, and platforms

You will work within a production support function responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of trading systems and supporting infrastructure. The role focuses on providing direct support to users, investigating system issues, and ensuring the reliability of trading workflows across multiple markets. You will interact with internal and external stakeholders to manage both trading infrastructure and supporting systems on a daily basis.

Your future role within QRT

• Provide user support for investigation and resolution of issues impacting front office trading flows and LLM based systems
• Monitor and maintain trading infrastructure to ensure system availability and stability
• Support trading platforms across Windows and Linux environments
• Ensure all trading components are operational before the start of each trading day
• Coordinate with engineering and business teams to resolve incidents and minimise disruption
• Support release management processes to maintain a stable production environment
• Maintain and support databases and associated processes
• Develop tools to improve monitoring and operational visibility
• Contribute to the design and implementation of monitoring, dashboards and alerting solutions
• Participate in on call support including evening and weekend coverage when required

Your present skillset

• Experience supporting trading systems including manual trading applications, algorithmic trading platforms, connectivity systems and risk systems
• Understanding of monitoring metrics and ability to analyse system data
• Familiarity with large language model (LLM) concepts and hosting environments
• Strong experience with Windows and Linux system administration
• Proficiency in scripting using Bash, PowerShell, Command Prompt or Python
• Solid experience with relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL
• Strong problem solving ability and ownership of issue resolution
• Experience working in production support roles within fast paced environments
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and business users
• Experience managing expectations of traders or senior stakeholders is beneficial
• Knowledge of financial markets including Equities, Futures, Commodities or Foreign Exchange is beneficial
• Familiarity with market data systems, execution systems or algorithmic trading is beneficial

• Design, build, and maintain automation solutions powered by AI/ML technologies
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Infrastructure teams to integrate LLMs and ML models into production systems
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support robust, testable, and repeatable deployments
• Build scalable APIs and data processing pipelines for model inference and real-time analytics
• Stay current with advances in AI/ML and apply them pragmatically to business and research workflows

Your present skillset

• 1–2 years of professional software development experience with proficiency in Python
• Strong understanding of core Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, complexity, OOP, concurrency)
• Familiarity with AI/ML/LLM concepts and ability to work with Data Science teams
• Experience building automation tools and services, including those powered by AI
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with AWS is desirable
• Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to take ownership in a fast-paced environment
