Job Summary

We are seeking a Software Engineer III with strong Ruby on Rails expertise to join our Marketing Technology (MarTech) team. In this role, you will own feature development within Rails-based backend services that power PrizePicks' member engagement, lifecycle marketing, and marketing enablement infrastructure - including data pipelines, customer data platform integrations, and marketing automation tooling. You will own the delivery of complex work end-to-end, begin guiding junior engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions that shape your team's systems. What You'll Do

• Own feature development: Take ownership of features end-to-end - from technical design through delivery - breaking complex projects into well-scoped, deliverable pieces across our martech stack.
• Write high-quality code: Produce Ruby code that is idiomatic, performant, well-tested, and raises the bar for the codebase.
• Contribute to architecture: Participate in team-level architectural decisions around data modeling, CDP event schemas, service boundaries, API design, and background processing patterns.
• Build and maintain martech integrations: Design and own integrations with our Customer Data Platform (CDP) and marketing automation tools like Braze - including event ingestion, audience syncing, and canvas triggering via API.
• Improve quality proactively: Identify opportunities to improve data reliability, pipeline performance, and developer experience - and act on them.
• Guide junior engineers: Provide technical guidance to Software Engineers I and II through thorough code reviews, pairing sessions, and design feedback.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with Marketing, Data, and Product teams to translate campaign and personalization requirements into reliable technical implementations. You should be comfortable sitting in a room with a marketer and speaking their language.

What You Have

Experience

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful time building Ruby on Rails applications
• Hands-on experience working with a Customer Data Platform (Rudderstack, Segment, mParticle, or similar) — you understand how event tracking, identity resolution, and audience building work in practice
• Experience integrating with marketing automation platforms such as Braze, Iterable, or Klaviyo, including direct API usage (not just clicking buttons in a UI)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. We are passionate about delivering cutting-edge solutions and pushing the boundaries of what's possible. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure as we continue to scale and expand our operations.

What you’ll do:

• Design, implement, maintain, and monitor reliable production systems at scale.
• Lead incident response, mitigate production issues, and conduct post mortem analysis.
• Proactively monitor performance, analyze system failures, identify bottlenecks , and propose solutions.
• Create and support observability/monitoring tools and vendor integrations.
• Drive the growth of a reliability culture, promoting cross-functional collaboration towards improving system reliability, scalability, resilience, and security.
• Train and mentor other engineers.

What you have:

• 5+ years of experience as a reliability-focused engineer in a fast-paced, rapidly growing, enterprise environment.
• Deep understanding of tooling and application development in these areas:
• Cloud computing such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Infrastructure as code tools such as terraform or crossplane.
• Developing applications in languages such as python, ruby, or go.
• Deploying and supporting applications in Kubernetes at scale.
• Implementing monitoring in tools like grafana, new relic, or datadog.
• Experience debugging live, critical production issues.
• Familiarity with reliability principles, such as resilient systems, application and supply chain security, and SLO governance.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse engineering teams.
