THE POINT72 ACADEMY SUMMER INTERNSHIP — EMEA

Are you a student interested in pursuing a career in investing? If you are graduating between December 2027 and July 2028, we invite you to apply for our 8-week summer internship, taking place from June to August 2027.

Launch your investing career in the Point72 Academy, an investment analyst training program that will provide you with the tools and knowledge to build a career in our ever-evolving industry. Since 2015, the Academy has graduated more than 230 analysts onto our platform, and some are portfolio managers today – as of March 2026.

The Point72 Academy Summer Internship is a combination of classroom instruction, portfolio casework, and mentorship. The program is designed to give you insights into finance, research, and the workings of the public markets and prepare you for a potential opportunity with the full-time Point72 Academy Associate Program.

During the internship, you will:

• Gain exposure to the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to contribute as an analyst, alongside your peers.
• Receive training in accounting, modeling, presenting, and compliance.
• Collaborate with an investment team, gaining firsthand experience of the daily life of an equities analyst and exposure to one of the sectors covered by our Portfolio Managers.
• Work closely with Academy coaches, delving deeper into data analysis and preparing a final pitch on an investment idea.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Information Security and the Office of the Co-CIO to discover efficient ways to harness AI in your investment processes and workflows

ROLE

Entry-Level Quantitative Researchers are responsible for conducting rigorous quantitative research with a focus on predictive models. You will be trained in all aspects of systematic trading from idea generation all the way to practical trading considerations. Successful hires will ultimately become thought leaders within our collaborative research group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct original quantitative alpha signal research
• Follow, digest and analyze the latest academic research
• Manage all aspects of the research process, including idea generation, data analysis, hypothesis development and testing, alpha discovery, trading strategy generation, backtesting and portfolio analysis
• Build analytical tools to supplement our shared research framework

Role

Data Scientists bridge the gap between raw data and predictive modelling. We believe everything starts with data. You will work closely with our quantitative research team, applying advanced techniques to engineer, validate, and refine features that feed directly into our systematic models. This is a role within an established investment team, offering opportunities for progression into more senior research responsibilities across the full trading pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough data analysis under the mentorship of a senior quantitative researcher.
• Generate novel ideas for enhanced proprietary data products.
• Track and evaluate new offerings from internal and external data vendors in partnership with Compliance.
• Transform firm approved raw datasets into robust features for our systematic models.
• Build analytical tools to supplement our shared research framework.

• Dynamically managing portfolio risk by evaluating historical and real-time strategy performance.
• Overseeing automated trade execution and monitoring transaction costs.
• Supervising a small team of researchers and developers on a daily basis.
• Designing, researching, and managing sophisticated investment strategies by creating and engineering advance quantitative financial computer modeling systems to aid in analysis and research.
• Performing research to acquire historical and production data sources needed to build investment models.
• Designing and developing quantitative mathematical algorithms to link the diverse data sets from various providers.
• Engineering investment models that will make the buy and sell recommendations for the portfolios using advanced quantitative mathematic statistics and investment theory to design and program strategies that explicitly forecast risk, return, and trading costs.

REQUIREMENTS

• Advance degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in a computational or analytical field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience developing, researching or implementing quantitative models for equities, futures and/or FX.
• Hands on experience with all aspects of the research process, including methodology section, data collection and analysis, testing, prototyping, backtesting, and performance monitoring.
• Innovative, intellectually driven, with an intense curiosity about financial markets and human behavior.

• Building components for both live trading and simulation of global equities portfolios
• Building tools for simulation, portfolio construction, dashboards, and the research framework
• Designing and deploying new features to improve portfolio construction methodology and process
• Maintaining and updating the platform, ensuring its stability, robustness, and security
• Identifying deficiencies in the trading platform and deploying solutions
• Developing robust data checking and storage procedures
• Troubleshooting and resolving any systems related issues and handling the release of code fixes and enhancements

REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or other quantitative discipline
• 2+ years of experience designing and developing research tools at a tech firm or quant hedge fund
• Experience with systematic portfolio construction for equities a plus
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Experience with kdb, database design, and large datasets
• Willing to take ownership of his/her work, working both independently and within a small team

Researchers are responsible for independently conducting quantitative finance research with a focus on statistical and predictive models. Successful researchers manage all aspects of the research process including methodology selection, data collection and analysis, testing, prototyping, backtesting, and performance monitoring.

Others have joined from related fields or directly from academia and have thrived with hands on guidance from our large team of experienced portfolio managers and researchers. DESIRABLE CANDIDATES

• MS or PhD candidates in finance, computer science, mathematics, physics, or other quantitative discipline
• 3-7 years of experience in alpha driven quantitative research for equities, futures, fixed income, credit, and/or FX
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research utilizing large data sets
• Programming in any of the following: C++, Java, C#, MATLAB, R, Python, or Perl
