About the Role:
We’re looking for an Account Executive who will find new opportunities, generate sales pipeline, and manage and expand existing government relationships with state and local governments as we continue to grow sales according to the business plan.
The ideal candidate is a driven, independent thinker, who can also be creative in identifying and developing new use cases and solutions within the civil market. This person will have a track record of navigating and selling within the state and local level, an extensive network and the ability to navigate framed contracts and the government procurement process . They will identify, qualify, negotiate, and close large-scale government contracts, drive sales and increase Planet’s visibility within the large state agencies. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the objectives, structure, personnel, strategy and processes of the departments we sell to such as departments of natural resources, agriculture, forestry and emergency management. This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States. If located near an office, you are expected to work from that office 3 days per week.
Impact You'll Own:
- Drive strategic engagement and governmental relationships to maintain, renew and grow business with existing and new state government accounts.
- Generate pipeline and revenue from state governmental agencies by working with Planet’s SDR team, maintain outbound, self-directed prospecting, networking, identify new business opportunities, expand relationships and close sales.
- Help inform and develop Planet’s civil go to market strategy, providing guidance and recommendations to product, marketing and the Commercial Leadership team on increasing Planet’s footprint within this market, and developing a cohesive and actionable plan to do so.
- Manage the government contracting process.
- Identify new partnership opportunities to expand Planet’s government presence and work with existing partners as needed.
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers and Professional Services for prospect meetings and presentations to understand departmental needs, develop thoughtful solutions, generate proposals and present pricing to key government personnel.
- Working collaboratively with Customer Success Managers to set client expectations, ensure successful outcomes and secure repeatable and predictable business.
- Develop comprehensive and informed account plans, highlighting existing and potential opportunities and quarterly plans to maximize account engagement and revenue.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date pipeline, sales forecast and CRM.
What You Bring:
- 6+ years of related experience selling to the civil markets of which 5+ years in the Geospatial Earth Observation (or similar) industries.
- Success in self-directed prospecting and identifying and closing business within existing and new accounts in the civil government space.
- Deep understanding of commercial imagery's value in the civil market and the complexities of civil procurement.
- Existing network with the Government and partner ecosystem.
- Ability to partner with multiple internal stakeholders to drive and retain business, increase Planet’ civil reach, product market fit and identify future areas for growth.
- Ability to develop a detailed and achievable sales plan, forecast accurately and manage a pipeline of opportunities.
- Ability to source, sell, co-sell, and close large deals and government contracts; carrying quota and closing should be familiar concepts.
- Ability to run deep discovery meetings by identifying and understanding the prospect’s challenges and needs, gaining consensus with multiple stakeholders, engaging in complex solution evaluations, and navigating the government procurement process.
- Self-starter, able to work independently under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- The ability to interact successfully across cultures.
- Negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Critical thinking, decision-making, sound judgement, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Experience with CRM, outreach tools and forecasting solutions.

- Background in GIS, remote sensing or related field.

About the Role:
The US Army Account Executive will manage Planet’s relationship with the US Army. Additionally, the Account and Program Manager will find new customers for Planet’s broad area monitoring and search product lines as we continue to grow sales according to our business plan. The ideal candidate is a driven, creative, and independent thinker who will assist in our expansion into new markets. This person will have a strong business acumen and an aptitude to learn new things.
This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our Arlington office 3 days per week.
Impact You'll Own:
- Manage Planet’s relationship with the US Army and other stakeholders to provide geospatial intelligence-derived products and information, including coordinating with the Professional Services team and the Customer Success team.
- Identify, qualify, negotiate, and close opportunities to expand the customer base for imagery and geospatial intelligence-derived products and services, as well as applications of generative artificial intelligence (AI) analytics to provide further value to the US Army and Combatant Command customers.
- Target further opportunities with the U.S. Government (DoD) accounts and partner companies with a specific focus to US Army current and upcoming programs of record.
- Identify, qualify, negotiate, and close large-scale complex deals and drive sales revenue targets.
- Technical understanding of geo-spatial imagery products, or a similar technical field and know the customer segments we sell to.
- Develop an extensive pipeline of new sales leads, provide product and sales demonstrations to prospective customers, and formulate appropriate business relationships with accounts.
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers for prospect meetings and presentations, generate proposals and present pricing to executive level buyers.
- Maintain weekly pipeline reporting and accurately forecast quarterly and annual business.
What You Bring:
- 6+ years of relevant technical area experience (equivalent to military O-3/GS-12 or above).
- 5+ years of related experience in Software and/or Data as a Service sales.
- Bachelor’s degree with a major relevant to the duties of the position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance.
- Experience successfully prospecting, finding, and winning business with new customers.
- Experience selling to Federal customers including understanding the nuances of sales cycles and how to navigate multiple agencies/divisions.
- Ability to forecast accurately and manage a pipeline of opportunities.
- Ability to source, sell, co-sell, and close large deals; carrying quota and closing should be familiar concepts.
- Ability to do deep discovery and build relationships to engage in complex pricing negotiations.

About the Role:
Based in Sweden, the D&I Account Executive will be responsible for growing Planet’s Government sales pipeline and book of business in the Swedish Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces and related agencies. The ideal candidate for this position is a driven, independent thinker, who can also be creative in finding new and dynamic ways to expand Planet’s government business. This person will have a track record of selling in government and defense, with an extensive network and able to navigate procurement processes and frameworks. They will identify, qualify, negotiate, and close large and medium-size deals and drive sales revenue targets. Most likely, the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Military Operations and Intelligence as well as designing, forming and selling complex solutions to government customers.
This role involves developing an extensive pipeline of new sales leads, providing product and sales demonstrations to prospective customers, and formulating appropriate business. To support this, the Swedish D&I Account Executive should have the ability to forecast accurately when managing the incoming pipeline of opportunities. The need to source, sell, co-sell, and close deals means that the ideal candidate should be familiar with the concepts of solution selling, carrying quota and closing. Impact You’ll Own:
- Work to develop the sales pipeline needed to achieve or exceed your sales targets and goals.
- Work in close collaboration with the Global D&I Sales team and Leadership.
- Work with Planet’s marketing team to run campaigns to attract and identify new opportunities.
- Prospect and develop business relationships, close sales, and manage customer expectations as the company grows.
- Collaborate with the wider Commercial team (for example Customer Success) to foster and grow customer relationships.
- Engage qualified prospects and take them through the journey of identifying a fit for Planet solutions and negotiating through agreement/contract/procurement obstacles to achieve an ultimate win.
- Manage the contracting and Government procurement process.
- Work closely with Solution Engineering staff to design a solution that answers customer needs and work in a cohesive manner to achieve technical validation that underpins a successful sale.
- Work closely with our post sales organization and customer success team to ensure a successful onboarding for new customers.
- Work strategically to develop the adequate sales pipeline needed to achieve or exceed your sales targets and goals.
- Maintain an extensive level of pipeline hygiene using Salesforce.com.
- Collaborate and innovate as needed to create customer-facing presentations and proposals unique to the prospect and situation.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate professional experience.
- 6+ years of related experience in software solutions and SaaS.
- 6+ years experience selling to government customers including understanding the nuances of Government sales cycles and how to navigate through the process.
- Success finding and winning business with Government customers, in particular the Swedish Armed Forces and related agencies (for example FMV).
- Deep understanding of military operations and planning and the role of intelligence supporting military Commanders that could include Planet’s services.
- Excellent relationships across Swedish Ministry of Defence (especially the Armed Forces and FMV) and Agencies and the partner ecosystem.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-starter, able to work independently under tight deadlines in start-up environment.
- Solid judgment and decision-making skills.
- Negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Salesforce.com or a similar CRM System.

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Account Executive to join our Civil Government Sales Team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing strategic relationships, driving revenue, and building a qualified sales pipeline across a portfolio of civil government entities, public agencies, and policy-driven organizations throughout Northern Europe and EU Institutions, supporting them in the adoption of advanced Earth observation and geospatial solutions.
Success in this role requires a high degree of curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving mindset to deeply understand customer needs, explore use cases, and co-create solutions that align technical capabilities with policy objectives and operational requirements.
You will work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders (Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, and Product) and with external partners, navigating complex procurement environments and multi-year public sector programs
This is a full-time, remote position based in Germany, Netherlands, or the United Kingdom. If located near an office, you are expected to work from that office 3 days per week.
Impact You’ll Own:
- Own and grow a portfolio of civil government accounts across Northern Europe (Nordics/Baltics) and EU institutions, from pipeline generation to deal closure
- Build trusted relationships with ministries, national agencies, space agencies, and public bodies
- Manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, including public tenders, RFPs, and framework agreements
- Develop account strategies aligned with policy objectives, regulatory constraints, and public-sector budget cycles
- Coordinate internal teams (solutions engineering, customer success, legal, finance) to deliver compliant and compelling proposals
- Work with partners and system integrators when required to support government programs
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and account plans in CRM
- Represent the company at European conferences, workshops, and institutional meetings
What You Bring:
- 6+ years in B2G or public sector sales
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Ability to close complex, high-value, multi-year deals
- Solid understanding of public procurement processes, including tenders and framework agreements
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing contract and pricing discussions
- Ability to manage long sales cycles while maintaining momentum and stakeholder engagement
- Solid curiosity and problem-solving mindset to deeply understand customer challenges and policy objectives, and translate them into commercial solutions
- Experience selling technology, data, SaaS, or geospatial / EO solutions to government customers
- Solid understanding of how public institutions operate, including policy-driven decision making
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical government audiences
- Confidence in engaging senior stakeholders, including directors and decision-makers
- Solid cross-functional collaboration skills
- Professional working proficiency in English, the language of the company
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Experience working with or selling into Northern European markets (Nordics / Baltics). Cultural understanding of public-sector governance in these regions
- Knowledge of the European space ecosystem, including ESA and Copernicus-related programs

About the Role:
We are looking for an Account Executive, Defence & Intelligence who will be responsible for growing Planet’s Government sales pipeline and book of business in Government Intelligence, Defense and National Security institutions for Japan. The ideal candidate for this position is a driven, independent thinker, who can also be creative in finding new and dynamic ways to expand Planet’s government business. This person will have a proven track record of selling in government and defense, with an extensive network and able to navigate procurement processes and frameworks. They will identify, qualify, negotiate, and close large and medium-size deals and drive sales revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have Military experience, technical understanding of geo-spatial imagery products (or a related technical field) and understanding of government customers that we sell to.
This role involves developing an extensive pipeline of new sales leads, providing product and sales demonstrations to prospective customers, and formulating appropriate business. To support this, the D&I Account Executive should have the ability to forecast accurately when managing the incoming pipeline of opportunities. The need to source, sell, co-sell, and close deals means that the ideal candidate should be familiar with the concepts of carrying quota and closing. Impact You’ll Own:
- Develop the sales pipeline needed to achieve or exceed your sales targets and goals.
- Collaborate with the Government Sales team and Leadership.
- Work with Planet’s marketing team to run campaigns to attract and identify new opportunities.
- Work with Business Development to grow a pipeline of opportunities with strategic accounts.
- Prospect and develop business relationships, close sales, and manage customer expectations as the company grows.
- Collaborate with the whole commercial organisation to foster close customer relationships based on trust and integrity.
- Engage qualified prospects and take them through the journey of identifying the value proposition for Planet solutions and negotiating through agreement/contract/procurement obstacles to achieve an ultimate win.
- Manage the contracting and Government procurement process.
- Work closely with pre-sales/solution architect staff to ensure technical validation of the Planet solution and achieve a technical win.
- Work closely with our post-sales organization and Customer Success team to ensure a successful onboarding for new customers and maintain/grow a relationship.
- Work strategically to develop the pipeline of qualified opportunities needed to achieve or exceed your sales targets and goals.
- Maintain an extensive level of pipeline hygiene using Salesforce.com.
- Collaborate and innovate as needed to create customer-facing presentations and proposals unique to the prospect and situation.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate professional experience
- Experience successfully finding and winning business with Government customers, such as the Military of Defense, an Intelligence account, or similar
- Excellent relationships across Japanese Government and the partner ecosystem
- 6+ years of related experience in Enterprise Solution Sales required along with a successful track record
- 6+ years of experience selling to government customers, including understanding the nuances of Government sales cycles and how to navigate through the process
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to be self-motivated and work independently under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
- Negotiation and persuasion skills
