The Recruiting Team @ Pave

Pave is opening its first engineering office outside of the US, and we're looking for a recruiter to help us build it. This is a founding role in the truest sense — you will be the first dedicated recruiter on the ground in Krakow, shaping how we show up as an employer in the Polish market and helping us hire the engineers who will define the office's culture and trajectory. You won't be working from a fully established playbook; you'll be helping write it. If you want to own a recruiting function rather than execute within one, this is the role.

Day-to-day, you'll run full-cycle recruiting for engineering roles and support hiring across other functions as we scale. You'll partner closely with hiring managers in Krakow and the US, manage candidate pipelines, and make sure every candidate has a great experience — whether or not they get an offer.

What You'll Do

• Own full-cycle recruiting for engineering and non-engineering roles in the Krakow office
• Source and engage passive candidates through LinkedIn, local networks, and other creative channels
• Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, calibrate on candidates, and move quickly on strong profiles
• Manage candidate experience end-to-end — clear communication, timely feedback, and a process that reflects well on Pave
• Help build and document recruiting processes, tooling, and workflows as the office scales
• Work alongside or manage relationships with external agencies where needed
• Occasionally support office and event coordination as the Krakow team grows — helping organize team gatherings, offsites, or office logistics on an as-needed basis
• Own the closing process for high caliber candidates while selling Pave’s mission

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience
• Strong sourcing skills — comfortable going beyond inbound and finding candidates who aren't actively looking
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in Polish and English
• Based in or willing to work from Krakow
• Experience with Greenhouse, Gem, LinkedIn Recruiter & Modernloop (bonus!)

We're a small, high-leverage team — two recruiters and a dedicated coordinator — operating as trusted advisors to leadership on every major hiring decision. We own full-cycle recruiting across all levels and have real influence on how we attract and win top talent in a competitive market.

What You'll Do

• Own the full hiring cycle: Drive end-to-end recruiting for R&D roles across Engineering, Product, Design, and Data — from sourcing passive candidates and crafting precise Boolean searches to closing senior hires who had multiple competing offers.

• Become a strategic partner — not a req-filler: Work directly with hiring managers and leadership to define role requirements, pressure-test job specs, build pipelines ahead of headcount approval, and contribute meaningfully to workforce planning as we scale.

• Source where others don't: Build and execute creative sourcing strategies using Gem, LinkedIn Recruiter, and unconventional channels. The candidates we want aren't applying — you'll go get them.

• Close with a data advantage: Own the candidate experience end-to-end — interview coordination, offer strategy, compensation discussions — and leverage Pave's own market compensation data to close candidates with confidence and transparency.

• Build the infrastructure, be ready to scale: Own pipeline metrics and reporting in Greenhouse and Gem, design and run our interviewer calibration and training program, and continuously improve recruiting process quality.

• Use AI as a multiplier: Bring genuine fluency with AI-powered recruiting tools to your day-to-day — candidate research, outreach personalization, pipeline summaries, sourcing signal. We're building AI-native workflows internally and expect you to be part of that.

What You'll Bring

• A proven track record sourcing and closing engineering talent across multiple levels and disciplines — your output matters more to us than your year count, though most people who've done this well have 4+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting behind them

• Experience recruiting at a high-growth startup or fast-paced tech company — you know what it means to hire with urgency without compromising the bar 

• Strong Boolean search skills and sourcing instincts for passive candidates who aren't on the market yet — you know where to find people who aren't looking 

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills - you can sell a company vision, navigate complex offer negotiations, and create an exceptional candidate experience under pressure

• Data-driven mindset — you track pipeline metrics because they help you make better decisions, not because someone asked you to

What You'll Do

Employee Lifecycle & Operations

• Lead HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, documentation, and employee records management
• Execute on seamless onboarding experiences that get new hires productive fast and continually improve the process
• Manage offboarding processes that maintain our culture of transparency and respect
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and internal policies

Payroll, Benefits & Compensation

• Manage payroll processing, bonuses, and annual compensation cycles accurately and confidentially
• Oversee benefits administration (healthcare, 401k, leave policies, PTO) and serve as point of contact for employees and vendors
• Support compensation review cycles and ensure changes are reflected systemically
• Continuously assess competitiveness of compensation and benefits packages

Systems & Process Improvement

• Own and optimize our HRIS (HiBob) to improve efficiency
• Track and analyze people metrics (turnover, engagement, hiring speed, performance outcomes)
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and create scalable processes
• Build dashboards that give leadership real-time insights

Immigration & Compliance

• Manage work authorization processes (H-1B transfers/renewals, TN, green cards) and coordinate with immigration counsel
• Stay ahead of employment law changes across SF, NYC, SLC, and Krakow
• Navigate multi-state and international compliance requirements

Performance & Development

• Manage performance review processes, goal-setting, and professional development programs
• Support managers with coaching, feedback, and growth planning
• Partner with leaders across GTM and R&D to understand team-specific people needs

Culture & Employee Experience

• Develop initiatives to strengthen engagement, recognition, and retention
• Act as trusted HR business partner to employees and leadership
• Help plan company events, recognition programs, and culture-building activities

What You'll Bring

Experience & Background

• 3-5+ years in People Operations, HR, or related roles with demonstrated progression in responsibility
• Broad HR generalist experience across compliance, payroll, benefits, performance management, immigration, recruiting, and employee engagement
• Experience in startup or high-growth company environment 
• Experience managing visa processes or partnering with immigration counsel preferred

Skills & Approach

• Systems-driven mindset - proficient in HRIS platforms (HiBob preferred) and think in terms of scalable processes
• Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices, particularly multi-state compliance
• Excellent relationship-builder with strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Extremely organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change - can build structure while staying flexible
