Oxford Ionics

Oxford Ionics

Founded in 2019 by Dr Chris Ballance and Dr Tom Harty, Oxford Ionics is a pioneering quantum computing company dedicated to building the most powerful, accurate, and reliable quantum computers to tackle the world's most critical challenges.

Our cutting-edge technology relies on the world's highest quality qubits – trapped ions – combined with a unique noiseless electronic qubit control technology. This enables Oxford Ionics to achieve unprecedented performance while utilising chips produced on a semiconductor manufacturing line.

Oxford Ionics is built on decades of leadership at Oxford University, home to some of the first pioneers of Quantum Computing. We define the frontiers of what's possible, with our team setting numerous world records, including best quantum gates, longest quantum memory coherence times, and best quantum networks demonstrated anywhere in the world, in any technology. We accomplish things no one else can by bringing together the best physicists and engineers to build a completely new kind of technology.
