Collections Agent at Oodle Car Finance.  

The Payment Support Team (Collections Team) at Oodle Car Finance are on a mission to deliver a great customer experience. In this role you will support our customers who have outstanding payments to support them to take steps to manage any missed payments. You will have exceptional communication and empathy skills and be able to build relationships with our customers to support them with the right outcome.

What you’ll be getting up to:  

• Dealing with telephone queries from customers who are experiencing financial difficulties  (Inbound and Outbound)
• Having great conversations with customers to find suitable payment solutions for any missed payments 
• Setting up payment plans and working with other specialist teams to support the customer   
• Displaying compassion and understanding towards customers in vulnerable circumstances 
• Recording conversations and administrative actions within the relevant systems  
• Reviewing processes which could be automated or enhanced to improve the customer and business experience  
• Identify and raise any risks with your line manager

The Salesforce team is a crucial part of Oodle’s Engineering division. We drive the Salesforce platform and data  that integrates to all of our other front-end systems. We strive to deliver a high quality on all of our Salesforce and integrated software products, in a fun and social environment.

🙌 The Role

Salesforce Engineer at Oodle Car Finance. 

A Salesforce Engineer works with the product teams to develop software products in line with the project management goals and contributes to the design and development of any work needing to be done by the team with regards to Salesforce, while ensuring that code is in line with the general ethos and approach to development of the Salesforce platform.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has been working with the Salesforce Platform in a development capacity but is looking for a role where they can grow into a Subject Matter Expert in all things SF. You will be joining an organisation who use multiple Salesforce clouds (Sales, Service, Marketing, Experience and Integration) in solutions aligned across multiple operational groups.

The Salesforce technical resources operate in a guild structure where platform knowledge and shared implementations are discussed across operational program boundaries. You should have a thirst for learning and an ability to communicate proposals and solutions to both Salesforce peers and technical resources not familiar with Salesforce.

What you’ll need for this role:

• Experience developing on the Salesforce Platform using both declarative and coded solutions
• An understanding of Lightning UX and configuring Salesforce for agent efficiency, using standard Salesforce features and Lightning Components
• Experience using a development IDE such as VSCode or IntelliJ
• Experience using Git or an equivalent source control system
• Experience in using integration technologies such as REST and SOAP

We’re looking for a Contact Centre Product Manager to take ownership of Connex, our customer contact platform that underpins every customer interaction. You’ll be part of the Product team within our Customer Management function, focusing on the customer journey from the point of acquisition through to the end of the agreement. 

In this role, you’ll focus on improving the tools and experiences used by both customers and internal teams, while ensuring our platform and processes remain compliant, efficient and scalable. 

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across operations, including customer services, collections and complaints, with regular engagement across the wider business and exposure to senior leadership.

• How can we simplify operational processes and reduce manual work for internal teams?

What you’ll be doing 

Your day-to-day work will involve balancing longer-term platform improvements with delivering changes required to support regulatory, operational and business needs. This may include: 

• Working with the Senior Product Manager to prioritise and deliver improvements to the platform and customer journeys  
• Managing and maintaining a backlog of platform improvements, regulatory requirements and operational enhancements  
• Collaborating with engineering teams to define, refine and deliver changes that improve system reliability, scalability and operational efficiency  
• Working closely with operations, legal and compliance teams to ensure changes meet regulatory requirements and deliver fair outcomes for customers  
• Supporting internal and external audits by providing product context, documentation and evidence of how systems and processes operate  
• Monitoring the performance of delivered changes and identifying opportunities to improve outcomes or simplify processes  
• Supporting the continuous improvement of internal tools and workflows used by customer service, collections and complaints teams 

About you 

• At least 2 years product management experience (or equivalent): this isn’t your first product job and you’re keen to grow by learning from an experienced team. Ideally have worked in a startup or scale up environment, with experience in finance or the automotive industry. 
• Experience running agile product teams: you know your stand ups from your retros and how to deliver results 
• Ruthless prioritisation skills: you know how to decide what to do next and aren’t afraid to make tough decisions. You understand trade-offs between competing priorities and understand how to strategically and tactically manage a backlog to get the most out of your team 
• Strong communication skills: you can clearly communicate with a range of audiences, from engineers and operational teams through to senior stakeholders 
• Problem solving and analytical skills: you can quickly understand new problems, identify key drivers behind specific outcomes and can find a simple path through complexity. You are data-driven and understand the importance of our key metrics to our team’s success. 
• Interpersonal skills: you are humble, you quickly build trust and personal relationships within and outside your team. You know when to seek consensus or escalate a decision depending on a situation 

This role is based in our offices in London or Manchester. We work flexibly, combining remote working with in-person collaboration, and typically spend at least a couple of days a week together in the office. 

Occasional travel between our London and Manchester offices will be required (with expenses covered when travelling to a non-contracted location).

🔧Engineering at Oodle 

Oodles’ Product and Engineering department is divided into two main areas:  

• The Pre-Funding area oversees the onboarding process for our customers. This involves the checks and procedures that are carried out ‘prior’ to the disbursement of a car loan. Its focus is on verifying customer details, validating necessary documents, and ensuring that the application adheres to all lending and compliance standards. The objective is to mitigate risk and confirm that the loan can be securely approved and funded. 
• On the other hand, post-funding represents Oodles’ most essential system, which manages the complete loan lifecycle, encompassing payments and direct debits. This area pertains to the actions that take place ‘after’ the loan has been funded.  

Supporting these functions are the Platform Engineering team, the Data team, and the information security team. 

 The primary technologies used are Salesforce, and a collection of microservices developed in either Java, or Python, all hosted on AWS. 

 🙌 The Role 

 The Engineering Manager for Pre-Funding will be reporting directly to the VP of Engineering.  You will lead & manage an experienced team of onshore software engineers to deliver a stream of awesome software releases that deliver real business value. 

 What you'll be getting up to: 

• Collaborate with product management to plan a realistic roadmap  

• Lead, mentor, and develop your engineering teams; creating a collaborative and high-performing culture 

• Support the professional growth of your team members by having regular developmental conversations with them  

• Own the architecture across the team and drive architectural alignment.  

• Manage the delicate balance between the need to deliver business value with the need to continuously improve the architecture and reduce tech debt. 

• In collaboration with the product managers, own agile ceremonies, and play a key role in the overall product governance processes. 

• Ensure the team adheres to best practices in software development, including continuous improvement of engineering processes and tools to improve code quality and shift-left on testing, security, monitoring and deployment.  

• Provide guidance on complex technical issues and assist with problem-solving. 

• Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes and tools 

 What strengths you’ll bring: 

• An ability to combine technical skills with leadership  

• Experience leading and line-managing a team of 5-10 software developers,  

• At least 5 years as a hands-on software engineer; ideally with Java and/or Python. 

• Experience with Salesforce is not essential but would certainly be helpful. 

• Have experience of cloud technologies (ideally AWS) 
• A qualification in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equal industry experience.

🟢Location and working style

Overview: 

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with data, programming, and turning analysis into commercial decisions that improve customer outcomes and portfolio performance.

If you like owning your work, building strong data foundations, and learning fast in a high-impact environment, this role will give you exposure across pricing, unit economics, and portfolio strategy.

What you will be doing in the role:

• Own the management, monitoring, and optimisation of pricing strategies, including KPI design, MI automation, root‑cause investigation, and actionable recommendations.
• Run champion/challenger pricing tests, from shaping hypotheses to designing tests, supporting implementation, monitoring performance, and evaluating statistically robust outcomes.
• Carry out scenario and sensitivity analysis to understand how pricing strategies perform under different market conditions (e.g., funding cost movements, loss rate changes, channel mix shifts).
• Build and maintain unit economics models and cashflow forecasts to assess profitability at segment and channel level, clearly articulating key drivers.
• Shape and evaluate introducer commission strategies, identifying incentives, monitoring economics, and assessing interactions with pricing, volume, and selection effects.
• Partner with Commercial teams to provide insight on risk‑adjusted returns and product performance, supporting both strategic and tactical decisions.
• Improve analytical tools, workflows, and controls (e.g., reusable Python modules, reproducible processes, documentation), and support governance for pricing and profitability models.
• Communicate analytical findings confidently and clearly with senior stakeholders, explaining model behaviour, trade‑offs, limitations, and recommended actions.
• Support and coach junior analysts through peer review, sharing best practice, and helping to enhance the team’s overall capability and pace.

• 2 - 4 years’ experience in pricing, credit risk, consumer finance analytics, or a similar quantitative field where you’ve demonstrated measurable impact.
• Strong quantitative skills, including statistical modelling, test design, and interpreting analytics (e.g., regression, classification, uplift, segmentation, forecasting, and performance metrics).
• Solid Python experience and confidence with SQL; comfortable creating reliable, reusable analytical code and working with version control.
• Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, practical recommendations for non‑technical audiences.
• Understanding of unit economics or cashflow modelling (or relevant experience in a related profitability or forecasting discipline).
• A commercially aware mindset and strong judgment, balancing precision with pragmatism.
• Experience working in production or “operational analytics” environments (e.g., monitoring, controls, parameter updates, documentation, and change processes).
• Degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative subject (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science).
