As a One Medical Phlebotomist/Administrative Assistant (internally known as Lab Services Specialist/Member Support Specialist) at one of our offices, you’ll provide an exceptional experience for our patients and help them accomplish an important part of their care journey by providing venipuncture as well as other clinical support services. You will be an ambassador for patients, with a mastery of human connection and a strong drive for service. You will remove barriers to care, resulting in a truly exceptional in-office patient experience. You are the steward of the space and ensure the look and feel of the office lobby are on brand with the One Medical experience. You will be the first point of contact for our patients, as well as provide any other support as requested by the Practice Coordinator, Operations Manager, or providers. Our Flex Lab Services Specialist/Member Support Specialist support multiple offices in a Market.

What you’ll likely work on:

• Use impeccable C-I-CARE (a framework containing the key elements of a great interaction and effective communication that we use with patients and each other) in all patient interactions, both clinical and administrative,  and ensure a fluid and positive in-office experience through patient intake, same day schedule management, appropriate follow up scheduling, strong knowledge of billing and insurance, monitoring patient feedback and assisting with outreach as necessary
• Provide best in class venipuncture services on a population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, depending on the office location
• Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as, but not limited to non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, 
• Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization
• Continue to care for our members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases and assisting our providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties such as, but not limited to biometric screening forms, medical record and consult review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting
• All front of house duties including check in/check out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork tasks, prepping tests, tasking to service level expectations etc
• Contribute to team development through rounding, attending team huddles, participating in team problem solving, supporting in office providers with ad hoc asks, etc. 
• Perform opening and closing duties/daily office upkeep as required, including maintaining the look and feel of both patient and employee facing spaces, restocking supplies, and organization
• Master our technology suite including, but not limited to Slack, G-suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, and our Electronic Medical Record System, in order to interact with team members and complete daily work

What you’ll need:

• At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment
• Strong customer service skills, including ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• A High School Diploma or equivalent 
• Proficiency in computer technology such as typing, navigating the internet and using multiple software systems simultaneously
• Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams (additional experience with remote teams a plus) 
• A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care 
• A proven track record of persisting through change, consistently stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations or tasks

Competitive salary: starts at $22.75 per hour based on a full time schedule

This is a full time role (40 hours/week) with 8 hour shifts generally taking place between 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Shifts include opening and/or closing, 7:30am-4:30pm or 8:30 - 5:30, based in office in North Williams Ave in Portland, OR. Flex/float location- Pearl (1122 NW Everett St, Portland, OR 97209) Flex Lab Services Specialists lend support to multiple One Medical locations in a market and location and schedule are subject to change.

Employment type:

• “Casual Employee” (per diem, hourly clinician role)
• 16-24 patient care hours per week

What you'll be working on:

• Seeing patients with a broad array of patient needs; conducting a mix of acute, chronic, and well visits (not a panel-building role)
• Treating patients in-office as well as conducting occasional tele-health visits
• Ongoing collaboration with in-office teammates via daily huddles, as well as with virtual clinical teams 
• Utilization of your specific clinical training and opportunities to perform in-office procedures 
• Willing to obtain additional state licensure and credentialing for One Medical virtual primary care in additional states

Education, licenses, and experiences required for this role:

• Enrolled in, or have completed, an accredited Internal or Family Medicine residency program
• Practiced at least 2 of the last 5 years in an outpatient primary care setting
• Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. If not yet Board Certified, must presently be a Board Eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Resident, or have completed a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Residency Program within the last calendar year and scheduled to take the next available Board Exam
• Licensed in Oregon, obtained before your One Medical start date

• Utilization of your specific clinical training and opportunities to perform in-office procedures 
• Willing to obtain additional state licensure and credentialing for One Medical virtual primary care in additional states

Education, licenses, and experiences required for this role:

• Completed an accredited FNP or PA program with a national certification 
• In the past 5 years, practiced as an Advanced Practitioner for at least:
• 2 years in an outpatient primary care setting seeing patients of all ages (0+), OR 1 year in an outpatient primary care setting seeing patients of all ages (0+), coupled with either a 1 year primary care fellowship or 1+ year in an urgent care setting seeing patients of all ages (0+)
• State licensed in Oregon, obtained by your One Medical start date

• Continuous learning during weekly Clinical Rounds and through other modalities
• Ongoing collaboration with in-office teammates via daily huddles, as well as with virtual clinical teams 
• Utilization of your specific clinical training and opportunities to perform in-office procedures 
• Supervising one or more NP or PA colleagues
• Willing to obtain additional state licensure and credentialing for One Medical virtual primary care in additional states

Education, licenses, and experiences required for this role:

• Enrolled in, or have completed, an accredited Family Medicine or Medicine/Pediatrics residency program
• Practiced at least 2 of the last 5 years in an outpatient primary care setting seeing all ages (0+)
• Board certified in Family Medicine or Medicine/Pediatrics, or Board Eligible with plans to obtain board certification within 1 year of your One Medical start date 
• State licensed in Oregon, obtained before your One Medical start date
