As a Geotechnical Engineer on our Rail Construction and Administration Management team, you will bridge the gap between soils at client sites and structures, ensuring the stability and strength of their projects from the ground up. You will perform geotechnical engineering design, project proposal, and management duties with integrity and a drive to succeed. You will also process design calculations, develop project scopes and schedules, and travel to job sites for observation. This position will ensure high client service by providing constructible designs, meeting deadlines, and creating clear communications with our clients.

We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of or near any Olsson office locations; close proximity to an airport is acceptable as well. This role involves traveling to various job sites and working in diverse terrains and weather conditions.

Our Construction Materials Testing Team plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of materials used in infrastructure and building projects. From concrete and asphalt to soil and aggregates, our team provides essential testing and analysis that supports the structural integrity and compliance of construction efforts.

As a Project Manager I, you will lead and coordinate construction materials testing projects from initiation through completion. Your involvement in the full project life cycle will be crucial for ensuring timely completion of projects, in accordance with established scope, schedule, and budget. This position leads to the successful delivery of projects that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve engineering and design needs. In this role, you will assist with structural design efforts for federal projects, including building frameworks, foundations, and structural systems. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced engineers and designers, gaining exposure to federal standards such as UFC, DoD, and VA requirements, while strengthening your skills in structural analysis and modeling software. Key Responsibilities

• Provides structural design elements for federal engineering projects using fundamental knowledge of structural principles, standard techniques, and established methods for small to mid-sized projects.
• Performs basic structural plan production and receives instructions for necessary tasks, including drafting and detailing structural components.
• Develops and apply knowledge and experience working within structural design and modeling software, such as Revit, Risa, and other structural analysis tools.
• Assist with project schedules, engineering calculations, and preparation of construction documents.
• Coordinates with experienced structural engineers and designers on non-routine techniques and procedures to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Gather research, recommend solutions, and create drafts of technical reports.
