About the Role
Our In-Vehicle Team is looking for a Shift Supervisor to build a best in class AV operator team to successfully execute on our operational missions and meet Nuro’s challenging goals. As a Front Line manager, you will be responsible for hiring & onboarding operators, actively managing their growth & performance and leading continuous improvement processes and projects. You will work closely with cross functional stakeholders within operations and with other teams to ensure the team’s work remains a valuable part of the company’s metrics.
About the Work
People Management:
- Hiring & Onboarding: You will be responsible for running the interview process and successfully executing the onboarding for new hires in line with the plan. You will work closely with the L&D team to develop the interview & onboarding process and the grading rubric.
- People Development: You will be expected to lead and manage a team of ~ 20 operators. Responsibilities will include providing feedback & guidance to operators, ensuring their training & competency is up to date and providing coaching/ mentoring.
- Performance Management: You will be responsible for the performance reviews of the operators you manage in line with the performance evaluation metrics. As needed you will work with stakeholders to update these metrics and/or determine ways to better capture these metrics
Execution Management:
- You will be responsible for Start of Shift and End of Shift activities that include capturing operator attendance, supporting software burns and data importing, and prep for the operators (keys, disks etc.)
- You will work closely with the planning team to ensure all operators are trained and ready to execute when new features/ capabilities are rolled out.
- You will work closely with the planning team to understand the goals for the week and the allocation strategy. In addition you will provide visibility on operator availability on a periodic basis
- You will respond to operator and onsite incidents as per internally established procedures
- You will actively review plan vs actual performance of your team on a weekly basis to understand drivers for deviations and identify action items to resolve those
- You will work cross functionally with other organizations and manage continuous improvement processes and projects to enhance efficiency and throughput (deep “what’s working and not” feedback)
- You will constantly engage with your peers in other locations to share best practices and drive standardization
About You
- You enjoy working with people and have at least 2+ years experience managing teams of at least 10+ direct reports - hiring, performance managing, coaching and/or mentoring or combination of other relevant work experience
- You are a natural leader and take ownership for your team’s work
- You have an understanding of US Labor laws, Employment laws and Driving laws
- You are a strong problem solver, and take the initiative to resolve issues on your own
- You are comfortable with reviewing data and have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- You enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a willingness to help out where needed
- You have a friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
- You are excited about robots and helping progress tools that will support the development of AI and robotics endeavors
- You have the ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the business needs, including nights, evenings and weekends.

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $68,150 and $92,000 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.

About the Role
Our Fleet Management team is the core of Nuro’s vehicle operations and customer experience. We are the customer support specialists, autonomous vehicle technicians, and vehicle operators who test, maintain, and ensure the operational readiness of our fleet.
The Associate Fleet Technician is a critical, entry-level technical role that provides the foundation for our vehicle operations. You will be instrumental in keeping our autonomous fleet on the road, learning the basics of maintaining sophisticated hardware and software systems. This role is perfect for a mechanically inclined individual who is eager to transition into the fast-paced world of robotics and autonomous vehicles.
About the Work
As an Associate Fleet Technician, you will:
- Vehicle Readiness & Maintenance: Execute daily and weekly preventive maintenance checks (PMs) and tasks to ensure maximum vehicle up-time.
- System Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Perform initial triage and resolution of routine hardware and software issues, and hand off technical issues out of scope. This includes diagnosing basic faults using technical documentation and standardized tools, and providing clear, detailed notes on issues that require escalation for further root-cause analysis.
- Component-Level Work: Execute minor mechanical repairs, part replacements, and system retrofits/modifications on Nuro vehicles and robotics according to engineering specifications.
- Operational Support: Support the transfer, setup, and extraction of autonomous vehicles and robots in operational zones.
- Process Adherence & Documentation: Follow standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and complete detailed digital checklists/work orders daily, ensuring accurate reporting and proper escalation of complex issues.
- Response & Safety: Respond to and professionally handle operational or roadside emergencies with composure, prioritizing safety and clear communication.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Software, and Field Operations teams to provide critical feedback on vehicle performance and maintenance processes.
- Workspace Management: Maintain a clean, highly organized, and safe technical work environment in compliance with all company and safety standards.
About You
- Foundational Technical Experience: Proven experience (e.g., from an academic program, vocational training, or professional role) demonstrating basic technical/mechanical aptitude with vehicles, electronics, or complex machinery.
- Technical Troubleshooting Mindset: Enjoy solving problems that require learning and understanding hardware, software, and electronic dependencies.
- Attention to Detail: Proactive, task-driven, and highly organized with a strict attention to detail required for documentation and adhering to technical procedures.
- Documentation Skills: Ability to effectively understand and follow complex technical documentation, schematics, or flowcharts related to hardware and software systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stand, and/or stoop for long periods to perform vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Driving: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment
- Experience working on ADAS systems
- Basic understanding of Linux and capable to write basic code
Bonus Points
- Relevant Training: Automotive, Robotics, IT, or Technical training/certification (e.g., ASE, CompTIA, vocational certificate).
- High Voltage: High-Voltage (HV) Certification or Training
- EV/AV Experience: Direct experience working with Electric Vehicles (EVs) or Autonomous Vehicle platforms.
- Electrical Aptitude: Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including multimeter use and knowledge of schematics.
- Methodology: Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts like 5S methodology or other continuous improvement practices..
- Software Familiarity: Basic experience with Linux command-line interface or other relevant operating systems for diagnostics.

The total compensation package for this position includes base pay and a competitive benefits package including medical/dental/vision insurance, daily meal reimbursement, and paid time off in addition to limited company holidays. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is $25.59 – $34.62 per hour for the Overnight shift. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. You may also be eligible for a discretionary annual contract completion bonus based on company and individual performance.

About the Role
Our team is looking for a Mission Operations Coordinator to schedule, coordinate and optimize allocation decisions across multiple operational missions and geographies to meet Nuro’s challenging goals. As a key part of the Mission Operations team you will be required to use your independent judgment on a daily basis in responding to the dynamic nature of operations.
You will be responsible for understanding operations plans and translating that into a schedule, optimizing allocation as things change; support a group of drivers to meet team and program goals; respond to and handle emergency and troubleshooting situations with composure and lead continuous improvement projects to automate processes. You will work closely with cross functional stakeholders within operations and with other teams to ensure the team’s work remains a valuable part of the company’s metrics.
About the Work
- Scheduling & Coordinating:

- Overall understanding of Nuro’s fleet operations and team capacities by geographies
- Coordinate a full shift of fleet operations (testing, manual data collections and documenting shift activities) across multiple geographies; use independent judgment on a daily basis to course correct and re-optimize to maximize productivity
- Translate the weekly plan into a schedule (with daily operator assignments) and ensure execution to plan; capture plan vs actual and provide insights on deviations
- Ensure procedures are followed and checklists completed consistently with proper escalation procedures as necessary
- Update and publish daily shift reports and hand off notes
- Act as customer support for commercial deliveries by interacting with merchant and customers along with supporting on-road operations and escalating issues to appropriate parties
- Execute other tasks as assigned by the manager
- Troubleshooting & Emergency Response:
- Act as the initial point of escalation for troubleshooting of all technical and software related issues
- Act as the initial point of escalation for any emergency situations; handle situations with composure
- Effectively communicate with operators in the field and respond as needed
- Program Management:
- Drive Mission Operations workflow optimization & automation efforts by working closely with the Sr. Manager of On-Road Operations and other key stakeholders
- Drive planning workflow optimization by synthesizing data and driving plan vs actual insights
- Lead certain initiatives within the team to ensure communication and alignment to processes and policies
About You
- 1 year of resource planning, allocation, optimization, reporting, etc. ideally in fleet management, autonomous driving and or robot operations/logistics
- Ability to implement a schedule of operating times for the assigned shift including, but not limited to, working on shift rotations
- Ability to synthesize and work with data to drive insights into operations for other teams to leverage - comfortable with sheets, data studio, Looker
- Ability to work independently to solve problems and resolve issues
- Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment with a willingness to help out where needed
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain flexible with the changing needs of the business as well as schedule changes

For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $55,800 and $75,390 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
