Forteus is the asset management division of the Numeus Group. Forteus offers a suite of liquid, actively managed investment products focused on generating alpha in the digital asset markets. Forteus is backed by Schroders, one of the largest global asset managers. 

We are looking for a dynamic, results-driven professional to lead asset raising across North America. You will develop and execute a strategic plan to engage and build trusted relationships with investors, raise capital for the Forteus product suite, and drive measurable growth for the firm. This is a high-impact role where your ability to connect, influence, and deliver results will be recognized and rewarded.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as Forteus’s chief ambassador to investors in North America
• Develop and manage a pipeline of investors for the Forteus funds across all investor segments, with an initial focus on early adopters, including family offices, HNWI, crypto native investors, and wealth managers
• Effectively balance near-term asset raising goals with more scalable, institutional relationships over the medium/longer term
• Build deep knowledge of Forteus products and digital asset markets, contributing towards investor education of these markets and investment opportunities
• Communicate the Forteus “story” and build the Forteus brand, representing Forteus at investor conferences and networking events
• Manage a robust and well organized sales process, document leads and interactions within the firm’s CRM system, and communicate KPIs and key insights regarding our asset raising and investor pipeline development

Skill Set And Qualifications:

• Leadership: 10+ years experience in senior client facing / sales roles in the asset management industry (preferably in alternative assets or digital assets).
• Network: Well-established relationships with institutional investors, family offices, and HNWI investors. Ready access to networks that can accelerate Forteus’s growth.
• Sales: Exceptional client development, fundraising, and deal-making skills. Proven ability to grow AUM and cultivate trusted relationships with institutional investors.
• Profile & Credibility: Respected industry profile with a history of integrity and excellence. Confident communicator capable of engaging senior stakeholders and decision makers. 
• Industry Knowledge: Proven experience establishing and managing sales processes to institutional standards, along with asset management product development across regulatory frameworks. 
• Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Digital Assets: Existing knowledge of the digital asset space is preferable; a demonstrable passion to learn and become immersed in the space is essential
• Location: US based, ideally in our NYC office, although strong candidates in other locations will be considered

The base salary for this role is anticipated to be between $150,000 and $225,000. The anticipated base salary range is based on information as of the time this job post was created. • Collaborate with quantitative researchers to understand their workflow, challenges, and requirements, and provide technical solutions to improve their research productivity
• Design, develop, and maintain software tools, platforms, and frameworks that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of research activities, including data gathering, preprocessing, analysis, and model development
• Identify and implement advanced data processing techniques, algorithms, and statistical methods to optimize research workflows and enhance data analysis capabilities
• Leverage your expertise in software engineering, data engineering, and machine learning to build scalable and robust systems that facilitate large-scale data analysis and experimentation
• Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior research engineers to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quantitative researchers, data scientists, and engineering professionals, to integrate research tools and systems into the existing infrastructure
• Assist in the evaluation and implementation of third-party tools, libraries, and data sources that can enhance the research process

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation, user guides, and training materials related to research tools and processes

• 4+ years experience working in close partnership with quantitative researchers to develop, deploy and maintain quantitatively-driven alpha strategies. Previous experience at a quantitative hedge fund is strongly preferred. 
• Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• Exceptional Python programming skills, with a focus on building scalable and efficient systems
• Experience with graph (DAG) representation, analysis, and processing using tools like NetworkX
• Experience with open source distributed computing tools in Python, such as Dask or Ray
• Proficiency in data processing, analysis, and visualization leveraging best-in-class open source tools, libraries, and frameworks (e.g., Pandas, Plotly, SciPy) 
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and their practical applications in quantitative research
• Solid understanding of the differences between L1, L2 and L3 market tick data
• Experience with AWS, Linux and Docker
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to design practical solutions to complex research challenges
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and translate research requirements into technical solutions
• Experience in recruiting, mentoring, and guiding junior team members is preferred

• Create, manage and maintain our production, research and trading infrastructure across multiple cloud regions
• Optimize our low-latency systematic trading compute and network infrastructure
• Support large research computing and modeling workloads with resilient, auto-scaling clusters and efficient hardware utilization
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise, including server downtime, network connectivity problems, and cloud outages
• Monitor system performance, and proactively identify and address any performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, or other issues that could impact trading operations
• Work collaboratively with quantitative researchers, traders, developers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that the trading and research infrastructure meets their requirements

• 5+ years experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role in a fast-paced environment, ideally buy-side systematic trading
• Production experience with cloud technologies, ideally AWS. Certifications alone are not enough.
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes, including large auto-scaling clusters, and highly available services, as well as knowledge of related GitOps tools such as FluxCD or ArgoCD
• Hands-on production experience with Linux, including knowledge of installations, configurations, and troubleshooting
• Religious about IaC, mastery of Terraform is required. Must have a passion for automation, and experience with relevant tools, such as Ansible.
• Practical working knowledge of UDP, TCP/IP, routing protocols, VPN technologies, user-space kernel bypass networking. Ability to dive deep and understand the full network stack.
• Experience with monitoring frameworks, such as Prometheus and Grafana

We are looking for a Quantitative Researcher who can help us develop alpha through systematic trading strategies. You will work closely with experienced researchers, traders, and a technology team with deep domain expertise. The digital asset space is young, fast-evolving, and filled with innovative sources of alpha and trading opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Employ a rigorous scientific approach to develop sophisticated investment models and deliver insights into how markets behave
• Apply quantitative techniques, like machine learning, to a vast and innovative array of datasets
• Create and test complex investment ideas and develop algorithms that lead to trading decisions
• Analyze investment model performance and behavior, aiming for constant improvements
• Work closely with our team of experienced developers to translate investment models into production code

Skill Set and Qualifications:

• Educational background in technical field, preferably Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Theoretical Computer Science
• Solid experience in model building, backtesting, parameter optimization routines, execution engine design and performance tracking
• Strong analytical skills; experience working with, and analyzing, large datasets
• Strong mathematical and statistical modeling skills (e.g. time-series)
• Ability to think independently, creatively approach data analysis, and communicate complex ideas clearly
• Basic knowledge of the digital asset space is beneficial, but not required
• Intermediate programming background in Python and C++
• Fluent English speaker
