The Legal team at Noom plays a pivotal role in supporting our mission by ensuring our operations and practices are compliant, ethical, and in the best interest of our company and community. We’re trusted partners across the business, enabling innovation while mitigating risk.
About the Role
As we continue to grow, we’re seeking an Employment Attorney to support Noom’s evolving employment law needs across our diverse workforce. This role will help shape and sustain compliant, scalable employment practices for a hybrid team of corporate, remote, contract, and international workers, while also preparing us for potential legal considerations related to facility operations.
You Will
- Provide legal counsel and strategic advice on a wide range of employment law matters, including hiring, performance management, terminations, employee relations, internal investigations, and compliance
- Support and advise on employee-related policies and programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Assist with internal investigations related to employee concerns, and advise on appropriate resolutions
- Partner closely with the People Team to support employee lifecycle events, including restructurings, disciplinary matters, accommodations, and leaves of absence
- Monitor developments in employment laws and regulations, translating them into actionable guidance for the business
- Collaborate with outside counsel as needed on employment-related litigation, claims, or regulatory matters
- Deliver proactive training and support to internal stakeholders on employment law topics and best practices
- Be a resource and contact at TMC for other legal question that require handling by other lawyers at Noom
About You

You Have
- J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience, including time spent at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department
- Deep knowledge of U.S. federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Experience working with diverse employee populations, including hourly workers, remote teams, contractors, and international personnel
- Exceptional judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business solutions
- Experience managing sensitive employee relations matters and investigations
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to partner cross-functionally with HR, leadership, and other teams
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment

The base salary range for this position is $136,800 - $184,800. Actual compensation is determined by job-related factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
This role is based in our Lexington, KY office with a hybrid schedule (2 days per week on-site).
