You’ll be responsible for building relationships with key decision makers at the school district level in addition to selling Newsela’s suite of products to bring engaging reading content to districts. In your day to day, you will do everything from pipeline management and forecasting to designing lead generation campaigns and managing sales through the entire lifecycle. You will also become well-versed in your territory’s funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape, which will help inform your overall sales strategy.

The role:
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) you will work across Newsela’s Sales organization, specifically supporting EveryDay Labs, to support aggressive growth by researching, prospecting through calls and emails, and qualifying leads in order to build pipeline for Sales Reps. Your days will be composed of responding to inbound inquiries, proactive cold outreach to potential new customers, and providing online product demonstrations that draw prospects into initial discovery calls and identify key needs that ultimately lead to qualified opportunities for our Sales team.
EveryDay Labs is an education technology company that uses behavioral science and data to reduce chronic absenteeism in K-12 schools. Founded in 2015 from the research of Dr. Todd Rogers, they partner with districts to send personalized attendance reports to families. The company uses behavioral, data science, and "nudges" (including both text and mail) to help families overcome barriers to attendance.
In addition to EDL’s attendance dashboards and workflow platform that is designed to improve student attendance, the company provides proactive, personalized communication, multilingual support, attendance intervention, and strategic consulting to improve school-family engagement. EDL has partnered with districts to prevent over 3.1 million absences and restore over 1 billion minutes of instruction.
