About the role

As an SRE on the Datapath Inline quality engineering team you will have an opportunity to work on world-class SWG solutions. As part of the Inline quality engineering team, you would be required to test, qualify and automate our inline SWG solutions for Email security. You will collaborate with backend service teams to ensure the overall quality, reliability, scalability and performance of the Netskope products. You will work on both the frontend as well as the web application backend. Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in a similar role
• Prior experience provisioning Ubuntu based hosts with Ansible
• Strong Git fundamentals, handling multiple workflows across multiple release branches
• Hands on experience with Jenkins 
• Solid understanding of Linux systems, package installation and uninstallation workflows,
• Excellent expertise with python and Linux scripting skills
• Experience with artifact management solutions such as artifactory

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of other provisioning and configuration management systems, such as Salt
• Experience with multiple CI / CD orchestration tools, like drone, Github Actions etc
• Familiarity with building and packaging tool chains
• Proficient with secrets management tools such as Vault, SSM etc

What you will be doing

• Responsible for deployment of multiple services across 1800+ hosts spread among over 100 points of presence across the world
• Collaborate with QE and other internal teams to help ensure stability and avoid regressions in non production environment
• Co-ordinate with QE and PMs to plan, schedule and execute deployments
• Work with on call engineers to identify issues on time and propose roll back solutions if required
• Launch automation initiatives to streamline and optimize deployment workflows.

Education

• BSCS or equivalent required, MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred

• Design, architect and develop high performance, scalable cloud based security systems to detect and mitigate attacks on generative AI applications and LLMs
• Define and drive best practices around scalable microservices, distributed systems, APIs and secure data flows
• Lead and inspire a world-class engineering organization, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvements
• Partner with product management to understand customer requirements, lead the team and collaborate with other engineering teams to design and implement high-quality solutions
• Perform architectural reviews, code reviews and mentor junior engineers
• Stay abreast of emerging GenAI and cybersecurity technologies and proactively propose innovative solutions

Required skills and experience

• 10 to 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in architectural or technical leadership role
• Deep expertise in backend engineering using Golang, Python, C++ or Java
• Proven experience designing large-scale, secure and cloud-native systems
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, specifically debugging workloads, networking, and storage in on-prem or hybrid environments
• Excellent communication skills, be able to collaborate, influence and lead
• Willingness to work with a globally distributed team in different time zones
• Startup experience in a fast paced environment is a plus

Education

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent required; MS strongly preferred.

• Passionate about developing products for hundreds of millions of consumers, with can-do attitude to deliver innovative solutions in high velocity
• Expertise in building high throughput and low latency dataplane systems, such as networking from Layer 3 to Layer 7, web proxy, security, monitoring and observability,etc
• Demonstrable technical accomplishments and earned engineering credibility
• Experience with cloud service frameworks and service mesh architectures
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate in an open, transparent and consistent manner with team and co-workers
• A strong customer focus and willingness to  roll up your sleeves and respond to the needs of customers proactively and promptly

 Education

• BSCS or equivalent required, MS in CS or Engineering equivalent strongly preferred

Nice to have

• REST API design and development experience.
• Proponent of TDD a big plus, knowledge of various unit testing frameworks
