Role Summary

In this role, you will provide administrative support to our Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and NLG Capital Leadership team.  In addition, you will be responsible for planning, organizing and/or managing special projects to deliver against our strategic objectives. Providing in-depth administrative and project coordination support, you will interface with external partners and all levels of leadership throughout the Company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide timely and effective administrative support to our CIO and the NLG Capital Leadership Team

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; equivalent years of job experience or certification

Role Summary

As a member of NLG Capital’s Commercial Real Estate team, this role supports the origination, underwriting, and closing of commercial mortgage investments on behalf of National Life Group. The Analyst will contribute to financial modeling, credit analysis, and market research to support investment decisions and ongoing portfolio management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Origination & Underwriting

• Analyze and underwrite commercial mortgage loan opportunities, including cash flow modeling and debt sizing.
• Build and maintain financial models (cash flow projections, IRR, NPV, sensitivity analyses).
• Evaluate investments across property types, including multifamily, industrial, retail, office, and niche sectors.
• Assess key credit metrics such as DSCR, LTV, and debt yield.
• Perform sensitivity analysis on interest rates, vacancy, and exit assumptions.

Structuring & Execution

• Support loan structuring, including amortization, covenants, reserves, and pricing.
• Review third-party reports (appraisals, engineering, environmental, sponsor analysis).
• Analyze leases, operating statements
• Coordinate with legal, appraisal, and internal stakeholders throughout the closing process.
• Assist in preparation of credit memos and investment committee materials.

Portfolio Management & Reporting

• Maintain pipeline tracking and portfolio analytics.
• Support quarterly and annual portfolio reporting.
• Monitor loan performance, including covenant compliance and credit quality.
• Assist with risk rating assessments and internal reporting.
• Support asset management activities

Market Research & Risk Assessment

• Conduct market research on supply/demand dynamics, rent trends, and liquidity.
• Identify and evaluate risks, including tenant rollover, capital expenditures, and market conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field and 2 or more years of related experience.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial functions, including NPV.
• Experience with financial modeling and underwriting.
• Understanding of real estate fundamentals and capital structures.
• Demonstrated understanding of capital market dynamics and pricing.
• Knowledge of, and experience in, structuring positions with the capital stack and relative value.

Role Summary

The Director, Commercial Real Estate Origination is a senior originator to lead the sourcing, structuring, and execution of commercial real estate debt investments.  This role is responsible for developing a consistent pipeline of institutional-quality opportunities and advancing the firm’s credit strategy and portfolio objectives.  The position is relationship-driven, focused on originating transactions across core property types while partnering closely with underwriting, asset management, and senior leadership through closing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Origination & Relationship Management

• Build and maintain a pipeline of high-quality investment opportunities.
• Develop and manage relationships with sponsors, brokers, and mortgage bankers.
• Travel to key markets for client meetings, broker engagement, and site visits.
• Represent NLG Capital through industry engagement and conferences.

Underwriting & Structuring

• Originate, structure, and close commercial mortgage loans (typically $15M–$60M).
• Underwrite stabilized, transitional (bridge), and construction loans.
• Assess business plans, lease-up risk, capital expenditures, and exit strategies.
• Structure loans within credit parameters aligned with risk-return objectives.
• Perform cash flow analysis, market evaluation, and sponsor credit review.

Execution & Credit Approval

• Prepare and present investment memoranda to internal credit committees.
• Negotiate loan terms, pricing, covenants, and legal documentation.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders through closing.

Portfolio & Market Strategy

• Monitor market conditions and capital markets trends.
• Partner with portfolio management on diversification across assets and geographies.
• Collaborate with asset management to support portfolio performance and risk mitigation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field and 6 - 8 years of related experience.
• 6 or more years of commercial real estate lending experience with a track record of originations.

• Established network of sponsors, brokers, and mortgage bankers.

Role Summary

• The Senior Hedging Trader at NLG Capital is responsible for execution and implementation of the hedging program for the company’s insurance and reinsurance operations. This is a critical role that sits at the intersection of investments, risk management, and actuarial strategy. The position requires deep expertise in hedging and derivative strategies, combined with the ability to play a senior role within the hedging team working with the Head of Hedging and the broader NLG Capital investment team to ensure effective risk management, capital efficiency, and alignment with the firm’s long-term objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Facilitate day-to-day hedging transaction management within the stated goals of the organization, within risk limitations and in conjunction with the broader resources of the organization.
• Monitor and report on hedge effectiveness, including metrics such as value-at-risk, hedge P&L attribution, and capital impacts.
• Partner with investment, actuarial, and finance teams to design and execute hedging strategies for new products, M&A, and reinsurance deals—including FX hedging and inforce risk management.
• Optimize collateral and capital efficiency associated with hedging activities.
• Collaborate with actuaries, distribution partners, and banking counterparties on the development and launch of new FIA and RILA products, including custom and indexed-linked strategies.
• Work with corporate finance and actuarial valuation teams to support projections, capital planning, and stress testing.

Position Overview

The Director of RMBS Trading & Residential Credit Investing is responsible for leading residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) trading, whole loan trading, and private residential credit investment initiatives. This role oversees portfolio management, sourcing, pricing, structuring, and execution across a broad range of residential credit asset classes. The Director drives relative value analysis, develops proprietary analytical tools, manages junior team members, and partners cross-functionally to deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns.

Key Responsibilities

RMBS Trading & Portfolio Management

• Manage and actively trade multi-sector RMBS portfolio, including agency, non-agency, CRT, NPL/RPL, and other structured credit subsectors.
• Conduct relative value analysis, performance surveillance, and risk monitoring across holdings.
• Source and evaluate market opportunities, maintaining relationships with buy-side and sell-side counterparties.
• Develop and enhance internal pricing models and analytical frameworks to support trading decisions.
• Oversee portfolio analytics, scenario analysis, and performance attribution.
• Build loan-level pricing models incorporating prepayment, default, severity, and rate assumptions.
• Manage and mentor junior team members responsible for modeling and portfolio surveillance.
• Manage acquisition and disposition of whole loan asset classes
• Coordinate transaction execution with legal, transaction management, counterparties, and servicers.
• Prepare and present detailed investment committee memoranda outlining return expectations, risk factors, and sensitivities.

Risk Analytics & Process Development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field; strong academic record required.
• 7+ years of experience in RMBS trading, whole loan trading, residential credit investing, structured products, or mortgage analytics.
• Deep knowledge of residential mortgage products, securitization structures, and credit performance drivers.

• The Hedging Leader at NLG Capital is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the hedging framework and activity for the company’s insurance and reinsurance operations. This is a critical leadership role that sits at the intersection of investments, risk management, and actuarial strategy. The position requires deep expertise in hedging and derivative strategies, specifically index and product related design, combined with the ability to lead a team and collaborate across functions to ensure effective risk management, capital efficiency, and alignment with the firm’s long-term objectives.

• Develop and implement a scalable hedging program to manage market, interest rate, and option risks across NLG’s insurance companies.
• Oversee day-to-day hedging operations, starting with static hedging programs and evolving toward dynamic overlays as business and asset volumes increase.
• Monitor and report on hedge effectiveness, including metrics such as value-at-risk, hedge P&L attribution, and capital impacts.
