Due to an internal move, we’re looking for a Talent & Engagement Specialist to lead end-to-end recruitment and help deliver ongoing strong candidate and hiring manager experiences.
What you’ll be doing:
As our Talent & Engagement Specialist, you’ll deliver recruitment strategies that attract, engage and retain both permanent employees and a large seasonal workforce. You’ll be hands-on across the full recruitment lifecycle, partnering closely with hiring leaders and using Greenhouse (ATS) and other sourcing technology to deliver quality candidates to your hiring managers while providing a positive candidate experience.
This is a true end-to-end role where you’ll own briefing, sourcing, shortlisting, hiring manager support and candidate care across a wide range of roles. You’ll also lead and mentor some of our seasonal team members to deliver volume recruitment campaigns hiring our seasonal workforce.
Based at our Whakatu Recruitment office, you’ll run a seamless recruitment process for both hiring managers and candidates. You’ll contribute to projects that shape the future of talent at Mr Apple, including smarter use of automation and AI-enabled tools (used responsibly) and use simple reporting that make confident hiring decisions.

It’s time to lock in your seasonal role for the 2026 apple season with one of New Zealand’s largest integrated apple growers.
Are you a hardworking and reliable team member looking for a packhouse role for the upcoming 2026 apple harvest here in Hawke’s Bay? We have a variety of roles for different skills and experience available in our Longlands and Whakatu packhouse in day and night shifts.
What you’ll be doing
The packhouse is a busy environment, it’s bright, it’s noisy and there are a lot of people working hard to get our perfect apples into cartons, ready to be shipped to the customer.
Whether your skills lie in turning, packing or tray filling, or you have skills in quality, cleaning or supervising, there may a place for you at Mr Apple. Experience isn’t required so if you’re willing to grow, you’ll have the chance to learn on the job and our team of experts will decide which role you are best suited to. Our workplace is dynamic and supportive, and everyone works together to contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality apples to the world.
The season runs for around 6 months, and you need to be willing and available to work 6 days a week (Sunday – Friday) when required.

Join New Zealand’s largest apple grower and exporter as a Forklift Operator for the upcoming season, starting February and running through to August 2026.
Each year, Mr Apple relies on skilled drivers to keep our operations moving—transporting apples through our packhouses and coolstores. If you’re experienced and keen to play a key role in supporting our world-class apple supply chain, we’d love to hear from you. Evening shift hours are approximately 4:15pm to 2:15am and day shift hours are approximately 5:45am to 4:00pm.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Forklift Operator with us, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our evening operations running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for receiving, storing, moving, and loading bins or pallets of apples across our packhouses and coolstores.
You’ll be part of a fast-paced, supportive team environment where safety, efficiency, and teamwork are key. Whether you're moving freshly picked apples from the orchard or loading pallets for export, your work helps ensure our apples reach global markets in top condition.
