About the Team:
The Ads Platform, Experiment team owns Moloco's company-wide experimentation infrastructure. We build the systems that help teams roll out changes safely, measure impact rigorously, and make better product and business decisions with confidence.
Our scope spans experiment lifecycle management, dynamic configuration and feature flag delivery, and the data pipelines and statistical tooling that power experiment analysis. We work at the intersection of backend infrastructure, data systems, and internal product development, partnering closely with engineers, data scientists, and statisticians.
About the Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Experiment Platform team, you will lead the design and evolution of high-leverage systems that shape how Moloco runs experiments across products. You will own important technical areas end-to-end, drive sound engineering decisions in ambiguous problem spaces, and build platforms that improve the speed, safety, and trustworthiness of experimentation company-wide.
This role is well-suited for engineers who combine strong execution with technical judgment, enjoy working across backend and data system boundaries, and want to raise the quality bar for an internal platform used by many teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of major components across experiment management services, configuration delivery systems, and analysis pipelines.
- Own technical decisions for platform areas that require balancing correctness, reliability, performance, and ease of adoption.
- Improve the trustworthiness of experimentation by strengthening system design, observability, data quality, and operational standards.
- Partner closely with engineers, data scientists, statisticians, and stakeholders to turn ambiguous requirements into scalable platform capabilities.
- Mentor other engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and pragmatic technical leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in a production environment.
- Strong hands-on experience in backend systems, data infrastructure, distributed systems, or other relevant platform areas.
- Proven ability to independently drive technical projects from problem definition through production rollout in ambiguous problem spaces.
- Strong engineering judgment in system design, operational reliability, maintainability, and cross-functional execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing and implementing experimentation platforms, A/B testing systems, feature flagging systems, or dynamic configuration platforms.
- Experience owning platform or infrastructure systems used by multiple engineering teams.
- Experience working with analytical data systems, metrics pipelines, or data quality and correctness challenges.
- Familiarity with advertising, mobile product ecosystems, or performance-driven product environments.
Compensation & Benefits

About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Ads Experience (AdEx) team, you will lead the design and delivery of key advertiser and operator workflows in Moloco’s web-based campaign management portal (Moloco Cloud Portal, our Ads Manager UI). You will shape how advertisers configure, monitor, and troubleshoot campaigns at scale, driving both user satisfaction and business impact.
The Opportunity
- Lead the end‑to‑end design and implementation of complex advertiser workflows and services in Moloco Cloud Portal, from problem framing and technical design to launch and post‑launch iteration.
- Act as technical lead for medium‑ to large‑scale projects, breaking down ambiguous problems into clear milestones and aligning engineers and cross‑functional partners.
- Architect and evolve backend services and APIs that support campaign setup, health monitoring, reporting, alerting, and diagnostics for advertisers and internal operators.
- Partner with Product, UX, Data, and ML to define the operational and reporting experience strategy in the Ads Manager UI, ensuring our experiences are coherent, scalable, and easy to operate.
- Collaborate with data and infra teams to design reliable analytics and reporting pipelines, including data contracts, SLIs/SLOs, and mechanisms for data correctness and latency.
- Raise the engineering bar by driving best practices in code quality, testing, observability, reliability, and incident response across the AdEx team.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical feedback, sharing context, and helping them grow in system design and execution.
- Influence longer‑term technical direction for Ads Experience, identifying platform opportunities and technical investments that unlock future product capabilities.
Basic Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant backend or platform work on user‑facing products.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Go, Kotlin, C++, or Python, and experience building large‑scale distributed systems or high‑throughput services.
- Strong system design skills, with a track record of leading the design and implementation of complex features or services across multiple components or teams.
- Deep experience designing and operating web services / APIs and working with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., BigQuery, Bigtable, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Proven experience acting as a project tech lead: breaking down ambiguous problems, aligning stakeholders, and delivering projects on time with high quality.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Product, UX, Data, and ML partners, influencing product scope and technical trade‑offs.
- Fluent in English, capable of driving technical discussions and decisions with global, cross‑functional stakeholders.

About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Ads Creative team, you will lead the systems that power how creatives are ingested, processed, and delivered across Moloco Ads. Your work will directly impact ad performance, experimentation velocity, and the quality of creative experiences for advertisers and end users on a global scale.
What You Will Do
- Lead the design and implementation of core backend services and pipelines for creative ingestion (images, video, HTML, etc.), validation, transformation, rendering, and delivery.
- Act as technical lead on medium‑ to large‑scale projects, breaking down ambiguous creative requirements into clear technical designs, milestones, and execution plans.
- Architect and evolve services that manage creative metadata, versioning, policy/quality checks, and runtime selection, ensuring high availability and low latency for online ad serving.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Ads Infrastructure, and Machine Learning teams to define how creative assets are prepared, scored, and experimented on to maximize advertiser performance.
- Build and improve tooling and services that support creative A/B testing, dynamic templates, and performance analytics, enabling rapid iteration on creative strategies.
- Work with data and infra partners to design reliable creative data pipelines, ensuring that logging, feature generation, and reporting around creatives are correct, timely, and cost‑efficient.
- Drive engineering best practices in testing, observability, reliability, and on‑call operations for creative systems, and proactively address tech debt that limits future innovation.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, providing design guidance, review, and context that help them grow their skills and impact.
Basic Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant backend or platform experience in production systems.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Go, Kotlin, C++, or Python, and experience building large‑scale distributed systems or high‑throughput services.
- Strong system design skills, with a track record of owning and leading complex services or features end‑to‑end, across multiple components or teams.
- Deep experience designing, building, and operating web services / APIs and working with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Bigtable, BigQuery).
- Proven experience acting as a technical lead: scoping projects, defining technical approaches, coordinating with other engineers, and delivering on time with high quality.

- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building systems for creative or media processing pipelines, such as ingestion, validation, transformation, optimization, or content moderation.
- Experience with real‑time ad serving or recommendation systems, especially where creatives or assets are selected dynamically at runtime.
- Familiarity with digital advertising / AdTech, including how creative quality and variation impact performance, experimentation, and advertiser outcomes.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud and big‑data technologies (e.g., GCP, BigQuery, Dataflow, Kafka, Beam/Spark) and integrating them into production services.
- Experience designing experiment and measurement frameworks for creatives (e.g., A/B tests, multi‑armed bandits, creative scoring/selection policies) in partnership with ML teams.
- Experience applying or integrating GenAI or automation for creative transformation, auto‑generation, QA, or classification is a strong plus.
- Track record of mentoring engineers, improving team‑wide engineering practices, and contributing to a positive, inclusive team culture.

About the role
As a Software Engineer II on the Ads Experience (AdEx) team, you will build core features and services that power Moloco’s web-based campaign management portal (Moloco Cloud Portal, our Ads Manager UI). - Collaborate closely with Product, UX, Data, and ML partners to turn user problems into simple, reliable product experiences in the Ads Manager UI and via APIs.
- Contribute to analytics and reporting capabilities by integrating with data pipelines and building features such as overview pages, charts, filters, and basic alerting.
- Improve the reliability, performance, and observability of services you own (e.g., metrics, logs, on‑call playbooks), and participate in incident response and root‑cause analysis.
- Participate in design and code reviews, learning from senior engineers while raising the team's quality bar.
Basic Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of software engineering experience in backend or full‑stack development.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Go, Kotlin, C++, or Python.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design, with hands‑on experience building or maintaining web services / APIs.
- Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., BigQuery, Bigtable, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience owning features or components end‑to‑end under guidance from more senior engineers.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross‑functional environment with Product, UX, Data, and ML partners.
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to discuss designs, trade‑offs, and timelines with global stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building advertiser‑, operator‑, or analyst‑facing tools such as campaign managers, analytics dashboards, or internal operations tools.
- Exposure to digital advertising / AdTech, especially concepts like campaign performance metrics, attribution, or billing.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and big‑data technologies (e.g., GCP, BigQuery, Dataflow, Kafka, Beam/Spark).
- Experience working with or alongside Product/Eng teams and incorporating user feedback into product improvements.
- Interest in UX for data‑heavy products and in learning how to present complex information in a clear, actionable way.
