This role is located 2-3 days onsite at our Guadalajara office and manufacturing plant. 

About the Role:

As Mill's Manufacturing Process Engineer you will manage and drive the manufacturing processes through which Mill's products are developed and produced. This role will design and optimize systems and procedures used by our Contract Manufacturing (CM) partner and Tier 1 suppliers. Responsibilities will include designing/sourcing fixtures, reducing CT, implementing design and assembly process updates and optimizing assembly line layout. 

Responsibilities Manufacturing Process Engineer: 

• Work closely with Mill's Electrical and Mechanical Engineering product design teams in San Bruno, CA to perform "Design for Manufacturability" and "Design for Assembly" reviews on new and existing products.
• Increase production capacity and efficiency by optimizing manual assembly processes as well as identifying and implementing new and enhanced automated assembly.
• Design and develop fixtures/tooling - including selection and coordination with suppliers. 
• Create, update and maintain manufacturing documents for pre-production and production. 
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve customer quality issues related to manufacturing process issues. 
• Qualify the manufacturing process on each new product introduction, including working with our CM partner to ensure appropriate line layout, work instructions, operator training, etc. are in place. 
• On site support at Sanmina Planta 8 Ixtlahuacan de los membrillos as required. 
• Drive cost reductions and product quality improvements through manufacturing yield and CT enhancement programs. 
• Work with Mill Engineering & Logistics to set up Reverse Logistics Triage Testing systems/processes and work with Mill Customer Service on implementing RMA processes. 
• Interface between Mill's, San Bruno Engineering and CM to provide technical support on Mill required Serial Numbers for DVT, PVT, and MP Runs accordingly.

Skills/Experience Required: 

• 3-5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Process Engineer or related field.
• Professional working level proficiency in English (B2+). 
• Engineering degree (B.S. Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronic Engineering).
• Strong electro-mechanical background.
• Expert knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, supplier management, and statistical process controls.
• Advanced working knowledge of Excel.
• Knowledge of CAD (NX) and ability to write scripts to aggregate and analyze defect, yield, and productivity data. 
• Experience with Flex Sim, ProModel, or other simulation software tools. 
• Exceptional problem solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Role Description:

The Operations Program Manager for Manufacturing will lead the manufacturing expansion execution for Mill Commercial.  We are looking for someone who can manage a fast-paced program with calm and clarity when the pressure is high. This individual will interface both internally and externally, and must be able to represent Mill’s interests clearly and consistently. The OPM is a master communicator, gathering information from vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders and delivering clear and effective messaging to drive decisions.

The Operation Program Manager will be responsible for:

• Managing the selection process of new Manufacturing Partners (MP) for Mill in the Commercial space
• Documentation ownership:
• Creating RFQ documentation to get official quotations from MP
• Driving MSA (Master Service Agreement) to completion with selected MP
• Aligning with Demand and Planning team on manufacturing ramp and supply capability, including proactive communication of needed lead time for any changes to Plan of Record
• Planning key development build activities (DVT, PVT) with engineering team
• Detailed program management for bring-up of MP including development builds and any testing required for certification

Education & Experience

• 10+ years experience in Manufacturing Operations, including direct management  of third parties (CM / JDM / OEM)  for hardware products
• Program management experience in bringing up new manufacturing, either via NPI or (preferred) new manufacturing locations/partners
• Start-up experience desired
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally

The estimated base salary range for this position is $195k to $225k, which does not include the value of benefits or a potential equity grant. A wide range of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, market conditions, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and business and organizational needs. At Mill, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
