We are looking for a Senior Finance Associate to drive priorities across strategic finance, corporate development, and FP&A as Lightning AI scales. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to shape unit economics, advise on deal pricing, and guide investment decisions. You will support GPU financing, fundraising, and investor relations to help Lightning AI acquire and allocate capital effectively. You will also build an operating cadence for P&L management, reporting, forecasting, and planning, turning data into decision-ready insights for leadership.

We are looking for an FP&A Manager to own the financial planning and analysis function at Lightning AI following our merger with Voltage Park. You will build and run the planning cadence for a combined business that spans a developer-first software platform and a large-scale GPU cloud, translating a complex P&L into the clearest possible picture of performance, unit economics, and capital efficiency for leadership, the board, and our investors.

You will be the financial backbone behind decisions that span GPU capacity and CapEx, software ARR growth, merger integration, and long-range planning. You will own the model, own the forecast, and own the narrative behind the numbers. You will work directly with senior executives across Infrastructure, Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Accounting.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to graduate from building models to shaping how an AI cloud runs its business and who finds it energizing to bring order to a fast-moving, post-merger environment.

What You'll Do

• Own the company-wide operating model, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, built on a driver-based framework that reflects both software and infrastructure dynamics
• Lead annual planning, forecasting, and long-range planning, coordinating inputs from every function and delivering a single source of truth

Build and own the tax function

• Stand up Lightning AI's corporate tax function across the multi-entity consolidated group
• Establish tax policies, documentation, controls, and procedures from the ground up to support internal governance and audit readiness
• Develop the multi-year tax operating roadmap, including process design, automation priorities, and the consultant-to-FTE transition plan

Compliance across federal, state, and local

• Lead U.S. federal and state corporate income tax compliance, including the first consolidated federal return
• Manage California mandatory combined reporting and multi-state nexus exposure across the group, including separate-filing and addback jurisdictions
• Oversee indirect tax compliance — sales and use, gross receipts — given the company's multi-jurisdictional data center and customer footprint

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Build and own the treasury function

• Stand up Lightning AI's treasury operating model across the multi-entity group
• Establish treasury policies, controls, signature authorities, and procedures from the ground up
• Select and implement the treasury management system (TMS) and integrate it with NetSuite and the company's banking infrastructure
• Develop the multi-year treasury roadmap, including process design, automation priorities, and FTE buildout

Cash management and banking

• Own daily cash positioning, short-term liquidity forecasting, and intercompany cash movement across the entities
• Own the 13-week operational cash forecast on a weekly cadence, and partner with FP&A on the 12-month and long-range cash forecast — providing the cash-conversion layer that translates the operating plan into liquidity outcomes
• Manage banking relationships, account structure, and bank fee analysis; rationalize the post-merger banking footprint
• Oversee the payment operations partnership with Accounts Payable, including wire and ACH controls and fraud prevention

Debt, vendor financing, and covenant compliance

• Manage existing debt facilities, vendor financing, and equipment financing across the group, including draw and repayment schedules, interest, and fees

You will help manage core accounting activities, payroll accounting, commissions accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, close-related processes, and cross-functional accounting operations. The accounting scope is broad, leadership visibility is high, and the work directly supports financial accuracy, operating discipline, audit readiness, and long-term business scalability.

This is a hybrid role based in either New York City or San Francisco with in-office requirements of 2 days per week. The salary range for this role is $200,000–$220,000.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead and build the Corporate Accounting team

• Hire, develop, and lead a team of 6+ across workstreams including revenue accounting (ASC 606), period-end general ledger close, fixed assets, and AP and AR operations
• Establish team operating cadences — close calendars, review meetings, escalation paths, and performance management
• Develop and mentor the team, building the bench needed as the business scales

Own the close across three legal entities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close across all entities, delivering stand-alone trial balances and a clean consolidation

• Lead accounting memos under ASC 805 (purchase accounting), ASC 606 (revenue recognition for AI compute and infrastructure arrangements), ASC 842 (data center and equipment leases), ASC 360 (impairment), and ASC 350 (goodwill)
• Stay current on accounting developments relevant to AI infrastructure, including evolving guidance on cloud arrangements, data center leases, and capacity contracts

Operational accounting and systems

• Oversee revenue accounting, GL, fixed assets (GPU and data center capex), AP, AR, payroll accounting, and balance sheet integrity
• Lead the completion of the NetSuite implementation across procure-to-pay and order-to-cash, in partnership with the Finance Systems function
• Drive integration of ancillary systems (Ramp, Jira, Rippling, Justworks) into NetSuite with audit-clean data flow

Controls and audit readiness

• Establish foundational internal controls, documentation, and review processes
• Build out the control framework as the business matures

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and in-house controllership experience
• 5+ years managing accounting teams of 5 or more, with a track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong accountants
• Demonstrated experience owning the close in a multi-entity environment, including stand-alone reporting, intercompany, and consolidation
