Graphics Programmer

As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Graphics Programmer to join the team and help us in crafting the high calibre games our fans have come to expect.

Responsibilities

To maintain and extend our proprietary engine on its VFX related part (particle simulation, materials, post-process effects, rendering/lighting pipeline).

Work closely together with Art/VFX department, to implement visual effects of topnotch quality and extending our library of existing VFX components.

Debug and optimize code to hit quality and performance targets

Document code features.

Requirements

Thorough knowledge of C++.

Strong technical background (bachelor’s degree or comparable experience).

Good spoken/written English.

Passion for making and playing great games.

Experience with modern graphics APIs like DirectX 12, Vulkan, Metal.

Experience with a wide range of CPU and GPU profiling tools.

Experience with particle system algorithms, including GPU particle implementations.

Excellent knowledge of shading languages and experience with writing complex GPU algorithms using shading languages.

Multi threading should be second nature.

Excellent software design and problem-solving skills.

Excellent software debugging skills.

You are a team player and willing to take responsibility.

This is a full-time, on-site role, requiring your presence in the office to support collaboration and creativity.

Previously shipped game/console titles is a strong plus

Responsibilities

Help organise and follow up on the assigned Area/feature(s)

Help manage Area/feature groups from start to finish, and ensure delivery

Help analyse and translate new features and ideas into requirements and action plans

Help track work and progress and react accordingly

Help set up and update high level roadmap and planning of the assigned Area /feature(s)

Identify and set up useful reports for the Area/feature(s)

Advise and assess priorities (and new requests) progress and quality for Area/feature(s)

Based on the status of Area/features, advise and reprioritise, rescope

Unblock, solve or escalate issues to Domain or Heads of Production, remove distractions

Filter, prioritise, interpret, analyse and help assign bug reports

Communicate and align with third parties, internal management, and other departments

Assist in creating and implementing processes that will improve quality and efficiency

Requirements

Experience in game development and game production

Experience managing local and distributed teams

Advanced understanding of Jira, and its setup/operation

Advanced understanding of spreadsheets, beyond basic usage

Advanced English communication, writing and reporting skills
A clear communicator, understands when to report up, down and everything in between; to inform, update and align.

Pragmatic mindset (i.e the voice of reason and the reality check in the room)

Problem solving skills, going into finishing mode, identifying correct priorities

Work on all aspects of engine development, notably, animation-related systems

Write performant, robust and maintainable code

Debug, profile and optimise code to hit quality and performance targets

Contribute to code reviews, testing and documentation

Show strong passion for making the highest quality state-of-the-art games

Be an active participant in the design and production of the engine, as well as tools or gameplay systems.

Responsibilities

Help organise, manage and follow up on technical feature groups and ensure delivery according to specs

Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment and clarity on objectives and timelines.

Help translate new pipelines, workflows, features, ideas and requests into requirements and actionable production plans

Help setup and administrate production pipelines (Jira, reporting, …)

Help analyse existing solutions, new proposals and propose improvements

As a reality check, play the game and try the features to assess priorities, progress and quality

Prioritise, reprioritise, handle requests

Track work and progress and react accordingly

Unblock, solve or escalate issues, remove distractions

Requirements

Experience in game development and game production

Game programming experience (in C++)

Advanced Jira experience (Admin level)

Adaptable and versatile in managing and following up on complex features across technical domains

Can remain impartial and be the voice of reason in the room

Proficiency with Google Sheets, Jira, Miro, Confluence

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to go into “finishing mode” when needed to close features
