Director, Venue Development (Renovations)

The VNI (Venue Infrastructure) team plays a critical role in delivering competition and non-competition venues that are functional, innovative, and accessible for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of the larger Sport & Games Delivery group, the VNI team ensures that all venues are designed and developed with the highest standards for functionality, sustainability, and inclusion. 

We are seeking an experienced leader in infrastructure development and delivery to oversee the coordination, planning, design, and delivery of infrastructure projects, including renovations and venue-owner led construction, associated with the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Director, Venue Development (Renovations) will lead the strategic planning and delivery oversight of a portfolio of venue renovation and upgrade projects across the Los Angeles region. This role is accountable for program-level decision-making, governance, and performance across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, scope, and regulatory requirements.

This position requires a leader with strong local market experience, preferably in Los Angeles or California, including familiarity with permitting processes, building codes, contractor ecosystems, and insurance and bonding requirements associated with major capital works. The Director will provide clarity of direction in complex environments, balancing competing priorities while enabling teams to deliver effectively.

The role is not defined by direct technical delivery, but by decision quality, prioritization, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams through ambiguity. Background & Requirements:

• Minimum 8+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably with 5 years of leadership experience in engineering, architecture, or construction management
• Proven experience leading engineering or architecture and design programs – training as an engineer or architect is preferred but not required but direct experience overseeing and managing complex construction is required

SENIOR MANAGER, COST MANAGEMENT:

The Venue Infrastructure (VNI) team plays a critical role in delivering Games-specific temporary infrastructure for competition and non-competition venues to ensure that they are functional, innovative, and fully accessible for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of the larger Sport and Games Delivery group, the VNI team ensures that all venues are designed, developed, and delivered with the highest standards for functionality, sustainability, and inclusion, while respecting the timeframes established with the venues for the LA28 exclusive use periods. 

Reporting to the Director, Cost Management & Procurement, the Senior Manager, Cost Management will be responsible for developing and leading processes to maintain financial cost control of the infrastructure program. These activities include preparing the strategy, management, and execution of the cost and procurement processes, including the oversight of internal functional areas and external stakeholders, contractors, and consultants. Due to the nature and scale of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, there are many key and unique challenges around IOC requirements, suppliers, delivery methods, and compressed schedules. The Senior Manager will also lead cost plans and budget impacts around each iteration of the venue design books to support our partners and stakeholders in their reviews and oversight. These efforts will require close integration with the organizational Finance team and their consultants to update the budget and lead a procurement strategy to manage the delivery of the infrastructure program. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead infrastructure program, cost management and develop infrastructure procurement strategy in partnership with internal and external resources 
• Prepare and lead infrastructure program budget, including design, program management, and construction services, including suppliers and commodities procurement. 
• Partner with Finance to understand production cycles, supply constraints, and price volatility to prepare budget updates and refresh assumptions 
• Support Commercial team on sponsorship opportunities for goods and services categories within infrastructure sourcing 
• Outline cost estimation techniques and methodologies at each state of program development, including resources strategy and financial risk and change management 
• Develop a procurement delivery plan, including onboarding external procurement specialists to manage supplier intake and compliance, RFI and RFPs, contracting, and invoice processing for a range of potential delivery structures 
• Monitor budget items and advance key financial risks to senior leadership 
• Coordinate with the LA28 Finance and Legal teams on key contracting activities, including procurement and compliance.  Advance LA28 impact and sustainability goals with our suppliers 
• Partner with Venue Development teams around cost estimations and budget refreshes as development programs evolve over iterations of design process 
• Oversee external cost and procurement teams  

Background & Requirements:

• 7+years of large-scale program and project management in the infrastructure space and demonstrated expertise in construction cost management and procurement  
• Experience with temporary infrastructure and overlay for large-scale sport events delivery, or equivalent experience with major infrastructure capital programs

Manager, Electrical Engineering (Renovations)

As part of the larger Games Planning & Delivery group, the VNI team ensures that all venues are designed and developed with the highest standards for functionality, sustainability, and inclusion. 

The VNI Renovations team will be responsible for the coordination, planning, design, and construction oversight of a defined group of renovations to Olympic and Paralympic venues. Reporting to the Director, Engineering this role will oversee the associated engineering works for the renovations, including management of external engineering resources and internal engineering teams, ensuring each venue meets long-term community, compliance, and long term use objectives.

This role will require extensive knowledge of the development of technical plans and designs of electrical engineering systems. To support venue development efforts, this role is required to coordinate with multiple internal functional areas to ensure feedback is captured and designs meet industry codes and standards, IOC requirements, and cost and schedule targets.  The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing capital works, leading multidisciplinary consultant teams, and working in complex stakeholder environments. A background in construction or infrastructure project management is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical engineering technical design and development, including internal and external engineers and consultants

Senior Manager, Electrical 

The Games Planning & Delivery group aims to deliver the most seamless, innovative, and engaging Games experience ever for all athletes, fans, partners, and the community.  The Games Planning & Delivery team is currently organized in four key areas including Venue Infrastructure, Venue Management, Revenue & Commercial, and Games Operations, but will expand to over 30 functional areas by Games time.    

The Venue Infrastructure team is responsible for delivering the competition and non-competition venues fit-for-purpose for the preparation and staging of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This department is responsible for managing the design, development, program management, construction, maintenance, and removal of all Games infrastructure in existing and fully temporary venues.

Reporting to the Director, Engineering, the Senior Manager, Electrical, will be responsible for overseeing the development of electrical plans, informing procurement, and managing installation, maintenance, and removal during operations.  Significant integration with stakeholders is required to determine the extents and locations of electrical components required. The duties of this role include overseeing external engineering resources and an internal engineering team. This role requires extensive knowledge of the development of technical plans and designs. To support venue development efforts, this role is required to coordinate with multiple internal functional areas to ensure feedback is captured and designs meet industry codes and standards, IOC requirements, and cost and schedule targets. LA28 will make extensive use of existing venues as well as build temporary venues, requiring varying application of electrical principles.

As part of the larger Sport and Games Delivery group, the VNI team ensures that all venues are designed, developed, and delivered with the highest standards for functionality, sustainability, and inclusion, while respecting the timeframes established with the venues for the LA28 exclusive use periods. 

Reporting to the Sr. Mgr., Cost Management, the Manager, Cost will own the costs and budget for groups of venues. The Cost Manager will build out the venue budgets with the Estimators, coordinate with Procurement and Contracts teams to reconcile tender documents to the approved budgets and integrate with the Venue Delivery teams to manage invoices and cash flows with Finance. The Cost Manager will work with other Cost Managers to harmonize reporting and tracking, anticipate and identify financial risks, and prepare consistent review and approvals across all infrastructure venue projects.

The successful candidate will manage project costs in major temporary events or complex infrastructure delivery programs

Key Responsibilities:

Venue Cost Management

• Prepare and manage the budgets across several venues in a sports cluster or group with the Venue Managers and Directors
• Forecast cash flows with Finance, categorizing costs according to agreed reporting groups (commodities, partners, sports)
• Review invoices in partnership with Venue Delivery teams

Financial Reporting

• Prepare cash flows and reporting with Finance
• Reconcile invoicing with contract terms and purchase orders
• Review financial change orders and manage program budget categories

Background & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in project cost management or finance
• Knowledge of key construction project financial processes and risk
• Experience with infrastructure projects and/or sport and events delivery
• Expert knowledge reporting tools such as Excel, Tableau, PowerBI
• Adept at meetings facilitation, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution

Manager, Data Specialist

LA28 is seeking a Data Specialist to join our Venue Infrastructure BIM team, supporting a dynamic, event-driven environment where flexibility, precision, and rapid problem-solving are essential. Unlike traditional design or engineering roles, this position focuses on orchestrating the digital ecosystem of venues, assets, and operational data. They will be responsible for leveraging Autodesk technologies, the common data environment, model data and asset integration into the orgs broader data strategy to facilitate data-driven decision-making throughout all stages of delivery of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games

This role requires a systems thinker who thrives in high-velocity, non-linear workflows. The right candidate will be well-experienced with the tools, and comfortable operating outside the boundaries of conventional project delivery, able to quickly contextualize new challenges, and deliver clear, actionable outcomes for a wide variety of stakeholders.

This role reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Digital Project Delivery.  It also contributes to the broader Venue Infrastructure team, a part of Sport & Games Delivery and will transition to an on-site venue support role at the time of the Games.

Key Responsibilities:

CDE Strategy & Governance:

• Integrate workflows and protocols that align with existing execution plans.
• Process data and various inputs to meet data requirement ensuring downstream usability for operations, sustainability reporting, and asset management.
• Collaborate with BIM Specialist to ensure consistency across Revit, Civil 3D, Forma (ACC), and connected platforms.

Digital Twin & Asset Information Management:

• Contribute to development and implementation of digital twin strategies, ensuring alignment with operational readiness, live event demands, and long-term asset stewardship.
• Define and author data based on reality capture (LiDAR) and contribute to defining strategies for sharing with external partners, stakeholders and vendors.
• Support early insights by linking BIM data with operational systems and metrics from multiple functional teams.

Event-Driven Project Delivery:

• Rapidly adapt AEC data to reveal opportunities for accelerated timelines, evolving priorities, and live-event constraints.
• Support BIM Specialist to Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants, and vendors to align deliverables with real-world readiness, not just design milestones.
• Apply agile project management principles to digital deliverables, ensuring responsiveness and accountability.

Autodesk Tools & Technology Integration:

• Integrate the use and advancement of Forma Data Management (Docs), Forma Build, Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, and Datum within the organization.
• Evaluate and deploy complementary technologies for model validation, clash detection, visualization, and handover.
• Lead initiatives in automation and data federation to minimize manual rework and maximize efficiency.

Stakeholder Communication & Support:  

• Assist BIM Specialist to translate technical information into clear, outcome-focused language by ensuring data strategy achieves the desired outcome. 
• Build trust with diverse stakeholders through proactive engagement, timely delivery, and transparent problem-solving. 
• Develop a CDE UX suited for Non-AEC types.  

Background & Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Temporary Infrastructure, or Entertainment Design (Master’s preferred). 
• 5+ years of experience in AEC Data management or digital delivery roles, with at least 2 years in an owner or client-facing capacity. 
• Demonstrated experience with Autodesk ecosystem (Forma (ACC), Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Tandem) and related digital delivery tools. 
• Proven track record in asset information management and/or digital twin deployment. 

Expectations:

• Familiarity with agile project management frameworks in digital delivery. 
• Experience embedding sustainability metrics into BIM and digital twin workflows, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory frameworks. 
• Experience providing actionable insights on energy performance, carbon impact, and lifecycle optimization using model-based data. 
• Exposure to IoT integration, smart building technologies, or live event operations.
• Proficiency in Dynamo, Python, or other automation/scripting tools. 
• Proficiency integrating SharePoint data and developing workflows for data exchange.
