Manager, City Look and Signage

The Manager, City Look and Signage will play a pivotal role within the Look & Signage (LNS) department at LA28, serving as the primary liaison between the internal Look and Signage team and a wide range of external partners. This includes the Host City, venue cities, transportation authorities such as LA Metro, airports, and other key stakeholders involved in delivering the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Look and Signage, this role will lead the development and implementation of the external look and signage integration strategy, ensuring that all city and transport partner look and signage aligns with LA28 brand standards and enhances the Games-time environment. The Manager will work closely with the LA28 City and Government Relations teams to understand partner agreements and ensure brand usage complies with established rights and guidelines.

A key deliverable of this role will be to consult on the creation of a City and Transport Partner Guidelines—providing clear guidance on how external partners can apply the LA28 brand to their own look, signage and wayfinding systems. The Manager will also develop and manage the process for distributing brand assets, reviewing partner signage plans, and approving treatments across the city landscape.

This position requires a strategic thinker with strong relationship-building skills, deep knowledge of branding and wayfinding in public spaces, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across a highly matrixed organization.

Key Responsibilities:

External Partner Integration & Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the LA28 Look and Signage team and external stakeholders including the Host City, venue cities, airports, and transportation partners
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with city and transport partners, ensuring alignment on branding and signage objectives
• Collaborate with the LA28 City and Government Relations teams to understand partner agreements and ensure brand usage complies with contractual rights
• Hire and manage an Associate to assist with the program

Brand Asset Development & Governance

• Consult on the development of the City and Transport Partner Guidelines, outlining how external partners can apply the LA28 brand to their signage and wayfinding systems
• Define and manage the process for distributing brand assets to partners, including usage guidelines and approval workflows
• Review and approve external signage treatments to ensure consistency with LA28 brand standards and Games-time experience goals

 Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with internal teams including Brand, Legal, City and Government Relations, Games Operations and Arrivals and Departures to ensure a unified approach to external signage integration
• Participate in planning meetings, site visits, and readiness exercises with external partners to validate look and signage plans and placements
• Provide strategic input to the overall Look and Signage program, ensuring external signage complements the broader Games environment
• Be an outward champion of the LA28 brand, encouraging non-sponsor partners to use the brand in approved ways

 Reporting & Communication

• Maintain regular communication with the Senior Director, Look and Signage, providing updates on partner engagement, risks, and opportunities
• Document key decisions and lessons learned and contribute to post-Games reporting to inform future host city integration strategies
• Represent the LNS team in external forums, presenting signage plans and brand guidelines to city and transport stakeholders

Background & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in branding, urban planning, communications, or a related field
• 5+ years' experience in branding, wayfinding, or signage implementation—preferably in partnership with city agencies, transportation authorities, or public venues
• Strong understanding of how branding is applied in public environments, including transit systems, airports, and urban landscapes
• Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and navigate multi-agency environments

Manager, Sport Workforce and Planning

The Sport Workforce and Planning Manager will play a critical role within the LA28 Sport team, leading on Games-time workforce and centralized planning deliverables, operations and services of the Sport function. This role will report to the Head of Sport Planning and Operations and work across Sport, including Competition Management, to progress function planning deliverables related to the strategy development, recruitment, and training of Sport’s workforce.    

The role will be expected to collaborate within the Sport department as well as other LA28 functions within (i.e. Event Management, Village, Transportation, Logistics, etc.), and across the organization (including but not limited to People Management, Finance & Procurement, Legal, Communications and Technology).   

Key Responsibilities:

Sport Workforce Planning and Development 

• Lead on Sport Workforce planning for testing, test events and Games-time, including National Technical Officials and Sport Skilled Volunteers, to ensure LA28 has a robust and skilled sport workforce for all Olympic and Paralympic sports  

• Coordinate with People Management and Workforce to ensure Competition Management and Sport Planning & Operations meet all centralized deliverables for workforce planning, recruitment, and training  

• Manage the National Technical Officials and Sport Skilled Volunteers candidate pool assessment and development requirements, coordinating with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and the local sport community   

• Support development of entitlement policies and procedures for National Technical Officials and Sport Specific Volunteers and centralize processes for Sport Managers  

• Project manage all testing, test event and Games-time headcount planning activities for Competition Management and Sport Planning & Operations ensuring consistency across each sport and operation while addressing any sport specific requirements  

• Act as the stakeholder representative for sport workforce with the Workforce function, ensuring that the unique needs of sport workforce are addressed in all workforce entitlement and policies for services such as food and beverage, uniforms, accommodation and transportation  

• Support development of timelines, calendar and budget for National Technical Officials and Sport Skilled Volunteers training opportunities and support in-person training workshops with NGBs, IFs, and sport community  

• Support recruitment and hiring of Sport Planning and Operations team members    

• Program manage Sport’s Games-time workforce training plan and content development  

 Sport Planning, Program Management, and Function Reporting  

• Act as a point of entry in Sport for other LA28 Functions to request sport information on related workstreams for planning purposes  

• Coordinate with Sport Competition on the collection and validation of centralized requests for planning information from other Functions   

• Validate and update key sport information within the LA28 Data Warehouse and other source of truth documents  

• Provide reports and updates on the status of related milestones and deliverables within the Sport department  

• Author Sport updates, presentations and reports on relevant topics to be used internally and externally to communicate progress and issues within the Sport department  

• Support the development of budgets and projects plans with well researched and validated information  

 Other Projects 

• Support project management for additional Sport Planning and Operations workstreams until dedicated resources are in place, including:   

• Review and feedback on other Function policies and procedures that impact Sport and sport stakeholders (e.g., Athletes), including but not limited to Transportation, Accessibility and Food and Beverage.  

• Lead on cross-functional projects that involve sport operations and stakeholders, presenting assessments of sport specific requirements and service levels across competition and training venues 

• Work closely with National Olympic & Paralympic Committee Services and Sport Competition Management to support Pre-Games policies, communications, and virtual presentations   

Background and Requirements 

• 5+ years’ experience in project and program management, ideally in the sport’s industry

Sport Manager, Football

LA28 is looking to identify a  Football Sport Manager for the Olympic Football Tournament 2028.. In coordination with FIFA, the International Federation for football, LA28 will identify and onboard a Football Sport Manager in 2025. Please make sure to highlight your football-specific experience, including the level of events you have managed and delivered (e.g., club, collegiate, national, international), in your resume.  Please note that due to the expected high volume of applicants the hiring of this position may take longer than others within LA28. 

The Football Sport Manager will play a critical role within the LA28 Sport team, reporting to a Sport Group Senior Manager while leading all aspects of operational planning for the Olympic Football tournament. This role will liaise directly with FIFA and US Soccer. The position will also be expected to collaborate with the centralized Sport Planning team as well as other LA28 functions (i.e. Venues and Infrastructure, Venue Management, Ticketing and Hospitality, Games services, Transport, Accommodations, Food and Beverage, Accreditation, etc), as well as across the organization (including but not limited to Athlete Relations, Strategy, Marketing, Commercial, Technology, HR, and Finance). 

Key Responsibilities:

Competition and Training Venue(s) Design 

• Liaise with FIFA for the development and design of competition and training venues across all football Co-Host cities

• Coordinate with LA28 Venues and Infrastructure and Event Management and other FAs internal to LA28 to provide football specific input into the development and design of competition and training venues  
• Assist with the planning, management and selection of co-host city stadiums and training sites.

Competition Management & Planning 

• Act as the subject matter expert for the sport of football within the organization and especially in the development and refinement of Event Operating Plans  (EOPs)

• Collaborate with FIFA on the development of the competition schedule and training schedules for Football

• Validate sport equipment requirements for assigned football ensuring that all Olympic and Paralympic IF requirements have been scoped 

• Provide sport specific feedback as required for all pre-Games, testing and Games-time planning across the organization via centralized planning activities lead by Sport Planning including relevant Sport Delivery Plans as well as venue specific planning activities with other functions 

• Provide input to Sport Planning on the development of the test event calendar 

• Coordinate with Timing, Scoring & Results to ensure all FIFA requirements are integrated into planning for both systems and infrastructure related to managing the competition 

Competition Management Workforce 

• Assist in the development of an Olympic Football Tournament structure including headcount, job description development, management structure and hiring.
• Collaborate on the Sport Workforce strategy and planning for football, liaising with the NGB and local sport community where relevant to identify paid staff, National Technical Officials and Sport Skilled Volunteers currently engaged in local and regional events 

• Lead the recruitment process for roles within Competition Management for football 

• On-boarding and day-to-day leadership of all Competition Management workforce within football 

• Support the development of football specific testing and Games-time training workforce. 

IF, NGB & Sport Community Relations 

• Act as the point of entry to LA28 and the stakeholder manager for FIFA 

• Liaise with FIFA and US Soccer, local sport communities, for football, and coordinate with other Sport Managers to ensure clear and coordinated communication when managing a multi-discipline sport 

• Manage and track all Olympic and Paralympic IF and NGB communication and brief Sport Group Manager and Senior Sport Director on the status of relations and Games-time planning 

• Manage Pre-Games IF Site visits for football including in Los Angeles and Co-Host Cities, developing an effective agenda, liaising with FAs and Stakeholders on their participation and producing site visit reports and presentations 

• Manage the completion and tracking of all inputs to each Sport Delivery Plan (SDP) for assigned sports/disciplines  

Administration & Program Management 

• Provide reports and updates on the status of deliverables and tasks to communicate overall progress in the planning for football

• Support the development of budgets and projects plans with well researched and validated sport and discipline specific information and planning assumptions 

Competition Management – Testing & Games-Time 

• Lead all competition management workforce for football to ensure a seamless and world class delivery of operations to support the competition, athlete and IF spaces within the competition and training venues 

• Act as the integration point within the organization for all FIFA related requirements for delivery of the competition and training for football 

Background & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience delivering national and international level sporting events in a leadership role 
• Extensive knowledge of football and event operations experience and exposure at multiple levels, including professional leagues or teams, federations, universities, and grassroots  
• Direct Olympic and Paralympic sport experience at a previous OCOG, multi-sport Games or experience delivering IF level events is a significant asset 
• Understanding and expertise within football at the international and national level as well as coordination with international and US Sport governing bodies  
• A clear understanding of IF rules and regulations for football
• Experience collaborating with colleagues on venue design, event planning, management and delivery across multiple functional areas  
• Extensive experience recruiting, training and leading a large and diverse workforce for the delivery of sporting events

• This position will require international, domestic, and local trips for IF and NGB events/congresses, as well as venue tours in the Los Angeles area during official IF site visits
• International travel may involve travelling to different countries to observe global sporting events and will require a valid Passport. We anticipate International travel to be 1 - 2 times per year for 1 - 2 week intervals. Approximately 20% or less of working hours. 
• Domestic travel may involve traveling within the United States to observe global sporting events.  Anticipated travel can be 0-3 times per year. 
• Local travel will consist of visiting local venues that LA28 is considering using as a competition and training venue as well as competition and training venues in Co-host Cities. Attendance and meetings with local sport clubs, colleges and related organizations may also require local travel as well as observing at local sport events. Anticipated travel can be 0-2 times per month and can increase as 2028 approaches.

• Collaborate on the Sport Workforce strategy and planning for open water swimming, liaising USA Swimming and the local sport community where relevant to identify paid staff, National Technical Officials and Sport Skilled Volunteers currently engaged in local and regional events  

• Lead the recruitment process for roles within Competition Management for open water swimming   

• On-boarding and day-to-day leadership of all Competition Management workforce within open water swimming  

• Support the development of open water swimming specific testing and Games-time training workforce  

IF, NGB & Sport Community Relations  

• Act as the point of entry to LA28 and the stakeholder manager for World Aquatics  

• Liaise with World Aquatics and coordinate with other Sport Managers to ensure clear and coordinated communication when managing a multi-discipline sport  

• Manage and track all World Aquatics communication and brief Head of Competition Management and VP of Sport on the status of relations and Games-time planning   

• Manage Pre-Games IF Site visits for open water swimming, developing an effective agenda, liaising with FAs and Stakeholders on their participation and producing site visit reports and presentations   

• Manage the completion and tracking of all inputs to each Sport Delivery Plan (SDP) for open water swimming  

Administration & Program Management  

• Provide reports and updates on the status of deliverables and tasks to communicate overall progress in the planning for open water swimming  

• Support the development of budgets and projects plans with well researched and validated sport and discipline specific information and planning assumptions  

Competition Management – Testing & Games-Time  

• Lead all competition management workforce for open water swimming to ensure a seamless and world class delivery of operations to support the competition, athlete and IF spaces within the competition and training venues  

• Act as the integration point within the organization for all IF related requirements for delivery of the competition and training for open water swimming 

Background & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience delivering national and international level open water swimming events in a leadership role  

• Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills  

• Strong communication, team building, and interpersonal skill  

• Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to work independently to resolve issues  

• Fluent working with Office suite products including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint  

• Self-starter with experience in defining tasks, seeking feedback, and evolving work  

• Required proven ability of building good interpersonal relationships with people across the organization and with external stakeholders, while balancing assertiveness with diplomacy  

• A collaborative mindset; someone who prioritizes the team and fosters a culture of high performance without ego  

• An innovative viewpoint, willing to challenge the status quo and thinking ahead to the future possibilities within the Movement  

• Ability to implement and manage change effectively  

• Extensive knowledge of open water swimming and event operations experience and exposure at multiple levels, including professional leagues or teams, federations, universities, and grassroots  

• Direct Olympic and Paralympic sport experience at a previous OCOG, multi-sport Games or experience delivering IF level events is a significant asset  

• Understanding and expertise within open water swimming at the international and national level as well as coordination with international and US Sport governing bodies

• Experience collaborating with colleagues on venue design, event planning, management and delivery across multiple functional areas  

Position Requirements:

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions 

• Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office  
• The majority of work may be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.    
• This position will require international, domestic, and local trips for IF and NGB events/congresses, as well as venue tours in the Los Angeles area during official IF site visits. 
• International travel may involve travelling to different countries to observe global sporting events and will require a valid Passport. International travel may be up to 1 - 2 times per year for 1 - 2 week intervals. Approximately 20% or less of working hours.   
• Domestic travel may involve traveling within the United States to observe global sporting events. Anticipated travel can be 0-3 times per year.   
• Local travel will consist of visiting local venues that LA28 is considering using as a competition and training venue as well as competition and training venues in Co-host Cities. Attendance and meetings with local sport clubs, colleges and related organizations may also require local travel as well as observing local sport events. Anticipated travel can be 0-2 times per month and can increase as 2028 approaches.

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $115,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
