Senior DevOps Engineer
About this role
The DevOps Engineer will work within the Platform Engineering team and help provide the infrastructure, tooling, and automation that supports Karbon’s engineering teams. This role focuses on improving deployment workflows, platform reliability, and operational visibility across our cloud platform.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:
- Building, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using GitHub Actions and Jenkins to enable reliable production releases
- Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code and automated provisioning using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation.
- Supporting configuration management using Chef
- Supporting containerised workloads using Docker and Azure Container Apps
- Building and maintaining monitoring, alerting, and observability systems using Datadog and OpenTelemetry
- Monitoring the security, performance, and availability of infrastructure and applications
- Investigating and resolving infrastructure and platform-related issues
- Working with engineering teams to deploy infrastructure changes safely and efficiently
- Contributing to disaster recovery, environment management, and operational resilience
- Assisting with cloud cost optimisation
- Delivering operational support for the platform as part of a team on-call roster rotation
- Working closely with Engineering and Product teams to implement DevOps solutions and improve developer workflows
About You
Candidates with the following characteristics and experience are encouraged to apply:
- 5+ years of experience working in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
- Experience supporting Azure cloud environments
- Good understanding of DevOps practices and infrastructure fundamentals (Linux, Windows, DNS, TCP/IP, networking)
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Experience with Docker containerisation and cloud-native application deployments
- Experience using configuration management tools such as Chef
- Experience implementing monitoring and observability using tools such as Datadog and OpenTelemetry
- Experience automating workflows using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages
- Experience working with Git-based repositories and modern development workflows
- Familiarity with high-availability systems, microservice architectures, and distributed systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering teams

About the Role
As a Platform Engineer on the Platform Team, you'll thrive in a diverse and dynamic environment working alongside seasoned professionals, including senior developers, tech leads, and architects. This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering and DevOps — you'll build and maintain the infrastructure, tooling, and automation that powers Karbon's engineering teams while driving continuous improvement across our cloud platform
Your primary responsibilities include hands-on development, infrastructure management, and operational excellence. You'll design and evolve shared platform capabilities that improve reliability, scalability, and developer productivity across the organisation.

What Sets You Apart!
- 3–5+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering
- Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, and SQL, with the ability to design scalable, maintainable systems
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools
- Strong experience with Azure cloud platforms, including Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and operating production systems
- Experience with Docker containerisation and cloud-native application deployments (Azure Container Apps or similar orchestration platforms)
- Deep understanding of distributed systems design, including fault tolerance, scalability, and event-driven architectures
- Solid understanding of observability and production operations, including monitoring, logging, tracing, and SLO-driven reliability (Datadog, OpenTelemetry)
- Experience improving developer experience through tooling, automation, and self-service infrastructure
- Proven experience driving cross-team platform or architectural improvements
- Understanding of cloud security fundamentals, including identity, access management, and secrets management

About the Role
As a Sales Account Executive, you will be responsible for identifying and managing leads and opportunities, demonstrating Karbon’s value, communicating the compelling reason to change, and leading technical demonstrations of our platform while providing a first-class experience and ultimately optimizing how prospects run their firms.
- Respond to prospective customers promptly, book discovery calls with inbound leads, uncover their pain points, and tailor presentations to demonstrate how Karbon will help them modernize their firm, accelerate their growth and retain top talent
- Drive and expand your portfolio of prospects through outbound engagement and call activity (~40% of appointments are generated by the rep)
- Create Outreach sequences leveraging marketing rich content and/or custom campaigns that include phone, email, e-gifting, and LI to secure meetings with decision makers in ICP accounts
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities with a minimum of 3 times quota securing next step meetings throughout the process
- Ensure accurate and timely updates of information and forecasts (call/meeting notes, supporting documentation, next steps etc.) in Salesforce/Gong
- Demonstrate how Karbon's value proposition aligns with clients' requirements
- Harness Karbon’s AI-first culture by utilizing Gong for deep-dive call analysis and ChatGPT/Gemini to synthesize discovery notes, automate follow-up emails, and conduct rapid competitive research to win deals.

About the Role

What We're Looking For
- 6-8+ years of experience in product design, ideally within B2B SaaS or complex product environments
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design thinking, interaction design, visual craft, and problem-solving across complex systems
- Proven ability to work autonomously on ambiguous problems and drive work forward with clarity and ownership
- Active use of LLMs in your design workflow, for problem framing, research synthesis, prototyping, or iteration, not just awareness of them

About the Role!
You'll own and drive the quality engineering strategy across the Karbon application, leading the transformation from a QA gatekeeping model to a developer-led quality culture where squads ship confidently without dedicated QA gatekeepers. This role sits at the intersection of technology, people, and process — building the foundations that enable every engineer to own quality.
We're in a significant transition. Our test automation stack needs uplift, our quality team needs strong technical leadership, and our developers need better tools and enablement to embed quality into their daily workflow. You'll lead this transformation end-to-end.
AI is central to how we want to work. We expect this role to actively embrace and champion AI tooling as a force multiplier for quality engineering — from AI-assisted test generation and intelligent data provisioning to AI-powered defect detection and code quality analysis. You'll set the standard for how AI is integrated into quality workflows and coach the wider engineering organisation to do the same.
What You'll Own
Strategy & Vision
- Owning and driving the Karbon Quality Engineering Strategy across its phased roadmap — from stabilisation through to optimisation and acceleration.
- Defining and championing architectural quality principles: fast feedback, deterministic tests, testing at the lowest viable layer, and shift-left practices.
- Establishing and tracking quality success metrics (release confidence, hotfix rates, developer satisfaction, coverage trends) with fully-automated, repeatable measurement.
People Leadership
- Leading and growing a team of 5+ quality engineers — providing coaching, mentorship, and career development while reshaping the function from inspection-focused to enablement-focused.
- Designing the QE engagement model across squads — determining where embedded QEs add value versus where squads operate independently with QE enablement support.
- Recruiting and developing developer-caliber senior quality engineers who lead by example and advocate for quality within engineering teams.
Developer Enablement & Quality Culture
- Driving a quality-first development culture — making it easier for developers to write, run, and trust tests by improving frameworks, documentation, tooling, and developer experience across all test layers.
- Championing the rebalancing of the test pyramid — shifting coverage down from E2E UI tests to unit, component, and integration layers where feedback is faster and more reliable.
- Leading collaborative quality practices (mob testing, testing parties, three-amigos sessions) and running the QE guild to ensure best practices are documented in-repo as living markdown.
Technical Leadership & AI
- Evaluating and making strategic tooling decisions (e.g. Cypress vs Playwright, Bruno vs .NET-based API testing) and defining the quality engineering approach for the Argo microservices migration.
- Driving improvements to CI/CD test execution — faster feedback loops, tests running on PRs, and reduced pipeline runtimes.
- Actively leveraging AI tools to accelerate quality engineering outcomes — including AI-assisted test generation, intelligent test data provisioning, automated quality analysis, and AI-powered code review.

What Sets You Apart (Must-Haves)
- Significant professional experience in quality engineering or software engineering, with a track record of building and leading quality functions in complex, enterprise-scale environments.
- Proven people leadership experience managing and growing teams of 5+ quality engineers or SDETs.
- Deep expertise in test automation strategy and implementation across multiple layers: unit, integration, API, and E2E UI testing, with hands-on experience in modern frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, or similar).
- Experience driving the transition from QA-as-gatekeeper to developer-owned quality models, with a developer advocate mindset — you see your role as making every engineer more effective at quality.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for AI-assisted development and quality engineering. You actively use AI tools in your workflow and can articulate how AI enhances testing, code quality, and engineering productivity.

About the Role!

What You’ll Own:
- Architecting and delivering scalable services using C#, .NET (Core, MVC, Web API), and SQL Server.
- Building modern, responsive applications using TypeScript and React (React Native a plus).
- Driving high engineering standards across testing, observability, performance, and security.
- Leading technical design discussions and influencing architectural decisions.

What Sets You Apart!
- 5-8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant experience delivering enterprise-grade systems.
- Strong expertise in C# and .NET (Core, MVC, Web API) within layered or service-oriented architectures.
- 3-5+ years working with SQL Server, including performance tuning, indexing strategies, query optimization, and data modeling for large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including services such as App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Service Bus, Storage Accounts, and Key Vault..
- Experience building and maintaining secure, compliant, enterprise-scale systems, including authentication/authorization (OAuth, OpenID Connect, Azure AD).
- Familiarity with microservices or modular monolith architectures in regulated or large organizational environments.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions preferred) and infrastructure-as-code practices such as ARM templates or Terraform.
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability using tools such as Datadog, Elastic, or Application Insights.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, scalability, and distributed system design within structured enterprise ecosystems.
- Experience collaborating across large, cross-functional teams with formal SDLC processes.

You’ll build reliable, high-quality software across our .NET and modern JavaScript stack, contributing to both new product capabilities and improvements to existing systems.
