Client Finance Analyst

Responsibilities

• Generate client billing for assigned clients
• Open, close and manage projects in coordination with account team
• Provide financial support to client account teams and monitor client budgets on a project basis
• Provide financial information to various departments and clients as required
• Provide client financial analysis with the review of monthly results, and summary of monthly billings and reconciliation
• Assist in the creation of project estimates, budgets, and client staffing plans, including calculating fees for client staffing plans
• Assume role of primary financial contact for account team and resource manager on assigned client business
• Generate professional financial reports for review with clients as directed by account team
• Provide complete journal entries, time entry transfers and provide invoicing instructions
• Reconcile labor hours on client projects
• Secure client P.O. or necessary work/payment authorizations and ensure adherence to contract billing policies and workflow procedures
• Monitor accounts receivable status and follow-up on aged balances with client
• Lead and participate in financial meetings
• Participate in the coordination and submission of all internal and external periodic reporting to parent company (actuals, budgets, re-forecasts, balance sheet variance analyses, interest, foreign currency, special year end reporting items/YE reporting packages)
• Prepare journal entries in relation to month end close
• Assist in inter-company payables and receivables
• Assist in all internal and external Audits
• Perform reconciliations and analyses of key accounts and coordinate activities with the treasury and accounts payable department
• Assist with Ad Hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a accounting background
• 3-5 years of related financial analysis and/or accounting experience, preferably within an advertising, marketing, PR or service industry environment
• Finance/Accounting knowledge (Balance Sheet, A/R, P&Ls, etc.)
• Possess an understanding of basic accounting principles
• Critical Thinker/ Problem Solver - identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
• Organized with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel experience, creating and using complicated spreadsheets are part of everyday work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to respond effectively and professionally to the most important inquiries
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership

Experience with NetSuite is strong indicator of success

Salary Range

Our estimated range for this role is $65k - $80k

Role Overview

The Finance Manager, FP&A is responsible for leading financial planning, analysis, and operational finance for the Canadian business within a service-based advertising and technology-enabled agency environment. This role is the primary finance partner for Canada, ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and actionable insight to drive performance.

Reporting into the US-based Head of Network Finance for the Cheil Agency Network, this position works cross-functionally with Canadian leadership and global finance stakeholders, supports treasury and payroll operations, and ensures Canadian compliance
(tax, audit, and statutory requirements). The role provides financial analysis and deal support while escalating commercial terms and high-value approvals per established leadership thresholds.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and budgeting processes for the Canadian business.
• Deliver executive-ready reporting packages with clear variance analysis, forward- looking insights, and performance commentary.
• Build and maintain financial models for revenue, resourcing, utilization, and profitability in a service-based delivery model.
• Partner with operational leaders and account teams to monitor margin performance,
  cost drivers, and delivery health.

Financial Reporting, Close, and Controls

• Oversee the monthly close process in NetSuite for the Canadian entity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of the P&L and balance sheet.
• Maintain strong balance sheet discipline including reconciliations, accruals, and working capital oversight.
• Ensure alignment with network reporting requirements and support consolidation needs for US-based finance leadership.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and documentation to support audit readiness and compliance.

Treasury & Cash Management

• Manage day-to-day treasury operations including cash forecasting and liquidity planning.
• Oversee foreign exchange exposure and related processes (e.g., FX monitoring, execution support, and reporting).
• Collaborate with AR/AP stakeholders to optimize cash flow, reduce aging, and mitigate financial risk.

Payroll & People

• Oversee payroll administration through ADP, ensuring accurate and compliant processing across provinces.
• Partner with HR on headcount planning, compensation forecasting, and benefits coordination as required.
• Ensure payroll practices align with applicable provincial requirements and internal policy.

Tax, Audit & Compliance

• Manage Canadian tax compliance, including GST/HST/QST filings and coordination of corporate tax requirements with external advisors.
• Ensure compliance with multi-province legal and regulatory considerations relevant to finance operations.
• Serve as the primary finance contact for both internal and external auditors and advisors for Canadian audits/reviews; coordinate PBC requests and drive timely completion.
• Support year-end statutory reporting and filings as needed.

Contracts, SOW/MSA Review & Commercial Support

• Review Statements of Work (SOWs) and certain Master Service Agreements (MSAs) for financial risk, operational feasibility, and margin implications.
• Provide deal economics analysis (e.g., staffing assumptions, cost-to-serve, margin expectations) and present recommendations to leadership.
• Escalation/Approvals: Anything over $500K must be escalated to Head of Network Finance and Cheil Agency Network General Counsel

Systems, Data & Process Improvement

• Act as a key Canadian finance systems owner/user for NetSuite and ADP, ensuring data integrity and reporting accuracy.
• Apply strong data analytics capabilities to improve insight, reporting quality, and forecasting accuracy.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities across reporting, close, and planning cycles.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or Canadian equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally within an advertising agency, professional services, or tech-enabled services organization (service-based delivery model).
• Proven ability to manage and develop an integrated finance team, driving collaboration across FP&A, accounting, and operational finance.
• Demonstrated success working in an international / inter-country environment, including reporting into US-based leadership and operating in a matrixed organization.
• Strong understanding of financial statements with deep expertise across P&L and balance sheet drivers (and their impact on cash/working capital).
• Working knowledge of Canadian taxation (including GST/HST/QST) and experience coordinating tax compliance with external advisors.
• Experience supporting audit processes (internal and external), including strong documentation, control discipline, and PBC management.
• Experience reviewing/working with SOWs and MSAs in a client services environment.
• Systems proficiency: NetSuite and ADP, plus advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Strong data analytics capability; able to synthesize large datasets into meaningful insights and recommendations.
• Excellent executive presence with strong presentation skills—able to communicate complex financial topics clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Ability to travel occasionally (limited) for leadership meetings, planning cycles, or audit-related needs.

Medical Editorial Supervisor

Locations:  New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; Durham, NC

Purpose:
The Medical Editorial Supervisor ensures quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance across medical/consumer advertising materials while leading and developing a team of editors. This role balances hands‑on editorial work with team leadership, workflow oversight, and cross‑functional collaboration. The Supervisor upholds brand/editorial standards, pilots practical improvements (including AI‑enabled workflows), and adapts to evolving business needs.  Pharma experience is a must.

Responsibilities

QC Leadership & Standards (Core Responsibility) 

• Own the editorial QC function; develop, maintain, and enforce QC standards and editorial best practices that meet and exceed client expectations.
• Conduct quality audits and trend analysis across deliverables; proactively identify and address systemic quality issues before they reach clients.
• Develop and maintain QC checklists, workflows, and quality benchmarks tailored to each brand's requirements.
• Partner with Account and PM teams to communicate QC value, build client confidence, and position quality assurance as a competitive differentiator.

Editorial Execution & Compliance 

• Perform hands-on editorial work (proofreading, fact-checking) to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with FDA regulations, AMA style, and brand standards.
• Uphold editorial and brand style across multiple brands; serve as the quality gatekeeper for all outgoing materials.
• Partner with Brand (Account/Copy) teams to create, maintain, and evolve brand style guides.
• Support the implementation of FDA/AMA updates across the editorial function; ensure the team is trained and aligned on regulatory changes.

Process Improvements and Innovation 

• Identify, test, and document process improvements and technologies—including AI tools—to improve quality, speed, and consistency; provide recommendations for broader adoption.
• Champion rigorous, QC processes while evaluating new tools that enhance (not replace) editorial judgment.

Leadership & Team Development

• Supervise and mentor editors; provide clear editorial direction, actionable feedback, and coaching.
• Lead or delegate onboarding for full-time and freelance editors to ensure consistency and rapid ramp-up.
• Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with PM, Account, Copy, and other partners to resolve content challenges and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Represent Editorial in select internal and client touchpoints, ensuring clarity of expectations and standards.
• Help plan and deliver training sessions (e.g., FDA/AMA updates, editorial standards, AI/tech workflows).

Workflow & Resource Management

• Manage scheduling for editors and freelancers; adjust resources to accommodate shifting timelines and last-minute needs.
• Field process/tool questions and partner with PM/Operations to maintain smooth workflows.
• Support coverage planning, including evening/off‑hours requirements typical within the industry; proactively communicate risks and mitigation strategies.

Metrics & Impact

• Help define and track editorial quality and efficiency metrics (e.g., error rates, review cycle time, throughput).
• Escalate systemic issues with clear, actionable recommendations.
• Translate editorial improvements into measurable value for the agency (quality, efficiency, and risk reduction).

Reporting & Collaboration

Reports to: PM Director
Works closely with: Brand Leads (Account/Copy), Project Management/Operations, and cross‑department stakeholders.

Qualifications 

• 5–7+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical advertising editorial role, with 2+ years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Preferred: Experience in traditional consumer advertising in addition to pharma.
• Deep expertise in AMA style, with strong working knowledge of FDA/OPDP regulations for medical/pharma advertising.
• Proven ability to manage multiple brands, deliverables, and style frameworks under tight deadlines.
• Strong editorial judgment, problem‑solving skills, and comfort operating in fast‑moving or ambiguous environments.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and familiarity with editorial/QA tools such as GlobalVision, Hive, Content Compare or similar proofing tools. 
• Positive, collaborative communicator with the ability to influence teams across creative, account, and operations.
• Comfortable adopting and championing AI‑enabled editorial workflows and new technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to drive improvements in accuracy, efficiency, and team performance through clear processes and standards.
