• Manage development schedules, work packages, and track system progress for the team.
• Make hiring and technology decisions for integrated engine design topics and assist with financial planning and budgeting for hardware, software, and testing.
• Serve as a role model for your team and others, demonstrating professionalism and a strong work ethic.

Qualification Checklist 

• Master’s degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related Engineering field. ·
• 4+ years of experience in rocket engine development. 
• Expertise in cryogenic propulsion systems and complete engine assembly.
• Strong background in structural design, development, and testing of propulsion hardware.
• Hands-on experience with structural components such as regeneratively cooled chambers, rotating parts, and engine structures.
• Proven ability to manage risk and adapt in dynamic, fast-changing environments.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective in cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluent in English.

Your Role in Our Space Mission

• Develop analytical and empirical models to perform comprehensive rotodynamic analyses, including stability and critical speed mapping (Campbell diagrams). Refine such models based on test data.
• Design and validate bearing configurations in cryogenic applications, drive continuous improvement for rotating system reliability and analyze bearing health through test data and hardware inspections.
• Develop, analyze, and validate dynamic seal concepts (e.g., labyrinth seals, brush seals, face contact seals) for performance, wear, and leakage criteria.
• Lead seal and bearing development test campaigns, including planning, instrumentation definition, execution oversight, and data interpretation.
• Collaborate with test facility responsibles to ensure proper test setup.
• Collaborate with structural mechanics team for turbopump rotor related investigations. · 
• Maintain the top-level turbopump CAD assembly, lead release of manufacturing drawings, and define rotor balancing strategies.
• Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and external suppliers to ensure system reliability and quality.
• Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and technical decision-making forums.

Qualification Checklist 

• M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or similar.
• Exceptional knowledge in rotor dynamics and professional experience with Timoshenko finite element rotor dynamic models as well as commercial rotor dynamic analysis software.
• Strong understanding of bearing systems, material behavior, tribology and bearing failure modes, preferably in cryogenic applications.
• Strong knowledge about dynamic seals in rocket engine turbopumps.
• Demonstrated experience in development testing, instrumentation, and data evaluation.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD programs (SolidWorks or Siemens NX preferred) and PDM/PLM systems.
• Effective collaborator in multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams, organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
• Fluent in English.

• Academic or professional experience related to turbomachinery development.
• Working experience in Simcenter™ Nastran® Rotor Dynamics.

Mission Brief 

The task of a Senior Fluid System Engineer is to oversee the development of complex subsystems of the fluid system, for their initial conception, to series production and operation. This includes the management of requirements, design calculations & simulations, CAD modelling, drawing creating, manufacturing organization, acceptance & qualification test planning, test operations, test evaluation & documentation. You will be actively involved in testing and travelling.

Your Role in Our Space Mission: 

• Fully own complex fluidic subsystems from engineering to timeline
• Define and manage the requirements of the fluid system and subcomponents
• Perform calculations and simulations of components and systems
• Work on iterative development of flight proven hardware
• Interface with many other engineering departments to work on shared systems
• Provide general engineering support and mentoring for more junior team members
• Participate in integrated, stage and flight testing operations

Qualification Checklist 

• M.Sc. or M.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

Mission Brief 

The Electrical Technician is part of a team responsible for operating, maintaining and upgrading Isar Aerospace’s engine test facility located at Esrange in the Swedish Arctic. The role encompasses responsibility for the test facility's electrical system, including maintenance, construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Your Role in Our Space Mission: 

• Upgrading electrical systems of the test facility
• Installation, wiring and troubleshooting of electrical systems including analog and digital sensors and actuators, controls panels and cabinets (230/400VAC and 24VDC)
• Prepare test articles and related subsystems for testing
• Maintenance of the facilities electrical systems and updating the documentation accordingly
• Support testing operations as required, including performing manual operations on pressurized and cryogenic systems

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Mission Brief 

You will maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade the control system of the Isar rocket engine test facility near Kiruna (Sweden). You will assume technical responsibility for both software and hardware elements of the control system. There will be close collaboration with the Isar Munich control systems team for work on both this facility, and other future projects.

You will be involved in day-to-day test operations, and will work alongside Propulsion Test Engineers to operate the facility. It is expected that there will be a close connection to the other test engineers, and development of a deep understanding of facility systems and requirements.

Your Role in Our Space Mission: 

• Develop PLC software for existing and future control systems in Kiruna
• Design PLC hardware setups and PLC-related networks
• Perform risk analyses and design safety-critical electrical systems
• Commission control systems and maintain/upgrade them
• Be responsible for hardware and software related topics on site
• Perform rocket engine tests as part of the local test engineering and operations team

Qualification Checklist 

• Either a degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, or similar, or a certified engineer in automation technology
• 2+ years of experience in automation and PLC technology
• Fluent in English
• Experience in the field of PLC programming (soft-PLC) and commissioning preferably using Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 or CODESYS based systems
• Experience in giving technical support and troubleshooting in the field and remotely
• Knowledge about fieldbus systems
• Basic understanding of electrical schematics

Mission Brief 

The Propulsion Test Engineer is part of a team that performs development and verification tests on liquid rocket engines and their subsystems. A Propulsion Test Engineer takes care of test preparation, maintenance and upgrades of the test bench. 

Your Role in Our Space Mission: 

• Plan and conduct rocket engine test campaigns together with propulsion development engineers 
• Ensure safe operations by using and developing procedures and processes 
• Take care of test preparations, troubleshooting, upgrades and maintenance of the test bench: both on paper and in reality 
• Assist in designing and building test benches for propulsion testing 

Qualification Checklist 

• Relevant engineering qualification or engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree in the field of aerospace, mechanical engineering or similar 
• Hands-on experience in development or testing of complex systems, preferably involving extreme operating conditions such as cryogenic temperatures, high pressures, or high temperatures. Such experience can come from either relevant positions held, or internships, clubs, and other extra-curricular activities 
• Capable of designing fluid and mechanical systems from theoretical concept to realization and commissioning 
• Able to perform in high-stress environments, maintaining focus and concentration for long durations 
• Physical dexterity is required as working in confined spaces is necessary
• Able to lift and carry 25kg
• Fluent in English 

Bonus Skills 

• Hands-on experience with fluid system and piping/tubing 
• Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Matlab, C, C#, Cobol...) 
• Knowledge of hazardous systems (cryogenic, flammable, explosive, or similar)
