The Role
We seek a Mechanical Engineer to manage the complete design of aerospace components and subsystems. You will collaborate with structural, thermal, and control engineers to develop hardware meeting performance, mass, and environmental standards. Your role includes translating concepts from sketches to CAD to space-qualified products within the Thermo-Mechanical Team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of components, enclosures, and assemblies for space applications.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings with appropriate GD&T, using CAD software.
- Improve drive design for weight, stiffness, manufacturability, and ease of integration.
- Collaborate with other disciplines—mainly thermal, structural analysis, control, electronic, and optics subsystems—to ensure system-level requirements are met.
- Support integration, manufacturing, and assembly, including interactions with suppliers and participating in design reviews.
- Procure mechanical parts from COTs or use manufactured components.
- Assist in prototype builds, fit checks, and environmental testing (vibration, TVAC, thermal cycling).
- Manage configuration control and documentation throughout the design lifecycle.
- Contribute to or participate in PDR/CDR reviews and technical trade studies.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- 3-6+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in aerospace or high-performance hardware.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent), working with complex assemblies.
- Strong understanding of materials, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes (CNC, sheet metal, composites, additive manufacturing).
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability principles and mechanical interfaces.
- Proficiency with GD&T standards, ISO or ASME
- Basic understanding of thermal and structural considerations in space hardware.
- Experience collaborating with various disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing space mechanisms (deployment systems, actuators, or hinges).
- Hands-on experience with testing, integration, or cleanroom assembly.
- Competence in FEM for structural analysis and a solid understanding of static and dynamic analysis.
- Knowledge of ECSS/NASA standards for mechanical design and verification.
- Basic scripting (Python, MATLAB) for data processing.

The Role
The AIT Mechanical Integration Technician plays a key role in Skyloom’s Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) operations. This position is responsible for the hands-on mechanical assembly of flight and non-flight hardware, including precision components, subassemblies, harnesses, and opto-mechanical structures.
Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical, electromechanical, and opto-mechanical components following work instructions.
- Identify and organize tools and components based on technical descriptions and BOMs.
- Perform precision inspections using metrology tools to meet aerospace-level specifications.
- Conduct mechanical and functional tests; troubleshoot and perform repairs when required.
- Document test outcomes, deviations, and failure analysis results.
- Collaborate with engineering to implement corrective actions and fixture updates.
- Maintain ESD and FOD controls and follow space-grade cleanliness standards.
- Report deviations in parts, tools, or workflows.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within AIT.
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, AIT, electronics, PCB assembly, or high-precision manufacturing.
- Familiarity with precision fasteners and metric hardware.
- Proficiency using basic math for measurements.
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and drawings.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Ability to comply with safety, ESD, and PPE requirements.
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, cleanroom, AIT, or precision assembly environments.
- Familiarity with space hardware or optical components.
- Experience with ERP/MES systems such as Odoo.
- Interest in skill development within a multidisciplinary and international team.
Compensation

The Role
As a System Engineer, you are expected to oversee and drive the conceptual and architectural design of Skyloom´s products, ensuring successful delivery aligned with business priorities. You will interact with various stakeholders to manage projects and product portfolios, fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams and acting as the primary contact for product-related inquiries and decisions.
Responsibilities
- Manage budgets: link, pointing, power, mass, and time allocations
- Oversee memory, physical configuration, and other system parameters.
- Define system architectures, interfaces, manage requirements definition, flow downs and traceability.
- Identify key requirements for each subsystem.
- Negotiate requirements between subsystems and perform trade-off analyses to optimize system performance.
- Promote comprehensive requirement definition for subsystems.
- Develop system and subsystem validation and verification (V&V) strategies.
- Empower and lead system teams, encouraging Systems to take ownership of initiatives and tasks.
- Lead decision-making processes and trade-off analyses.
- Review and reach consensus on subsystem schedules, understanding dependencies and inter-team interactions.
- Approve required tasks for each subsystem, estimating time and resource allocations.
- Conduct internal design reviews (similar to Critical Design Reviews) to ensure interface requirements are met.
- Provide training and knowledge-sharing opportunities for Systems teams through internal courses or presentations.
- Ensure subsystems define their design processes and perform flow-down of system requirements to lower-level subsystems (typically L3 to L4 and below).
- Prepare typical documentation packages for each project phase and support project budgeting.
- Oversee the organization of Systems teams, whether structured per project or product (e.g., OCTs, OGS), with designated responsible leaders for each subsystem.
- Establish clear procedures and processes, enforce their use, and continuously improve system engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and product management.

The Role
We are seeking a V&V and Operations Tools Developer to design, build, and maintain the critical software infrastructure and tooling required for the early design verification, system deliveries validation, and operational monitoring of our flight systems. This role is fundamental to achieving mission assurance by automating testing, supporting complex physical testbeds involving external sensors and actuators, and facilitating early hardware/software integration.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality, robust automation scripts and tools to support early hardware integration testing and interface verification.
- Apply Object- Oriented Programming(OOP) principles to design scalable and reusable software libraries for hardware interface communication and complex data acquisition from the testbed.
- Design and implement automated test sequences for health integration and performance verification of flight systems, analyzing feedback loops, sensor readings, and actuator responsiveness.
- Manage and configure the physical testbed infrastructure, including integrating and calibrating external sensors, actuators, and instrumentation required for comprehensive system testing.
- Develop and maintain the tools and framework necessary to execute Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, including environment simulation, real-time data injection, and automated fault insertion.
- Implement minimal services to facilitate data handling, instrument control, and integration between various V&V tools in a distributed physical testbed environment.
- Utilize Docker to containerize development, testing, and V&V environments, ensuring consistency and reproducibility across the organization.
- Administer and maintain Linux operating systems that host the V&V testbeds, simulation platforms, and operational tools.
- Configure and troubleshoot networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, UDP, etc.) to ensure reliable connectivity between test equipment, flight hardware interfaces, and data centers.
Qualifications
- Systemic Mindset: Ability to view the flight system and its V&V testbed not as separate components, but as an integrated system, understanding dependencies, interfaces, and optimizing end-to-end performance.
- Python: Advanced proficiency for tool development and scripting.
- Strong understanding and application of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Linux: Experience as user, basic administration for troubleshooting in various distributions.
- Bash scripting for system automation and pipeline execution.
- Experience with Docker for containerizing environments.
- Minimal experience designing or interacting with REST microservice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Observability Stacks (e.g., ELK/Influx/Grafana) for monitoring testbed health, data logging, and visualizing operational metrics.
- Prior experience in the validation of control software or safety-critical systems.
- Familiarity with data analysis libraries such as Pandas and plotting libraries like Matplotlib for analyzing sensor and performance data.
- Understanding of Distributed Systems architecture and challenges.

The Role
The System Integration & Test Engineer is responsible for executing subsystem- and system-level integration and test activities across a range of hardware and software complexities. This role ensures that individual components and fully integrated systems perform according to requirements through structured verification and validation processes.
This position requires a strong combination of hands-on testing capability, systems thinking, and software/scripting proficiency to support automated testing, data acquisition, and analysis. The engineer will work closely with electrical, mechanical, optical, and software teams to troubleshoot issues, validate performance, and improve system reliability.
Responsibilities
- Execute subsystem and system-level test campaigns (functional, performance, environmental, acceptance)
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures from requirements
- Support system integration across electrical, mechanical, optical, and software domains
- Troubleshoot integration and test anomalies
- Monitor and analyze test data in real time
- Develop and maintain test scripts and automation tools
- Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems
- Prepare and support TRR and TRB reviews
- Ensure documentation, traceability, and configuration control
- Improve test processes and infrastructure
Qualifications
- Experience with integration and testing of complex hardware systems
- Experience with oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, DAQ systems
- Troubleshooting of analog, digital, and mixed-signal systems
- Strong scripting skills (Python, MATLAB or similar)
- Data acquisition and analysis experience
- Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings

The Role
At Skyloom, we’re building cutting-edge optical communication systems for space. We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer with a strong hands-on mindset to help test, debug, and validate electronic assemblies (PCBA and Card Circuit Assembly) across development and production.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working in the lab, solving real hardware problems, and collaborating across disciplines. Experience with complex electronic systems is key, deep aerospace or space background is a plus, but not required.
You’ll work closely with hardware, firmware, optical, manufacturing, and test teams to bring advanced electronic systems from prototypes to flight-ready production.
Responsibilities:
Hardware Test & Debug
- Test and debug PCBAs and electronic subsystems, including multi-board systems.
- Perform functional and performance testing during development, qualification, and production.
- Support hardware bring-up and troubleshooting using lab instrumentation.
Validation & Production Support
- Verify electrical and functional requirements.
- Support design verification and production acceptance testing.
- Help identify root causes of failures and support corrective actions.
- Contribute to test procedures, acceptance criteria, and production documentation.
Interfaces & Signal Integrity
- Test and validate common communication interfaces (Ethernet, SPI, I²C, UART, etc.).
- Assist with debugging signal integrity issues in high-speed or mixed-signal designs (e.g., SERDES-based links, LVDS, etc.).
Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, optical, manufacturing and AIT teams.
- Support environmental testing activities (thermal, vibration, etc.) as needed.
- Collaborate with international partners to support system integration and testing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3-6 years of relevant experience (flexible depending on skill set).
- Solid foundation in electrical engineering fundamentals (digital, analog, or mixed-signal).
- Hands-on experience testing or debugging electronic hardware.
- Comfort working in a lab environment using standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, etc.).
- Experience with PCBAs, prototypes, or production hardware.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries.
- Exposure to optoelectronics, RF, or communication systems.
- Basic scripting or embedded programming (Python, C/C++ or similar languages).
- Interest in growing into more complex system-level testing or aerospace testing roles.

The Role
To support Skyloom’s production of optical communication terminals, the Project Manager’s primary responsibilities will be to oversee all aspects of designated technical and production programs including budgeting, scheduling, resource management, and communications. You will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams across our organization to ensure timely completion of objectives and identify any potential obstacles. This position would report to the CTO – Santiago Tempone.
As a Project Manager, you will carry significant responsibility for coordinating other teammates’ efforts and the timely success or failure of specific projects.
