We are looking for a Senior Quantum Sales Executive will be part of our US Go-To-Market team whose mission is to bring IonQ’s offering—including Quantum Hardware (Systems and Networks), Software, Applications, and Access—to a curated set of clients across the Financial Services ecosystem (Tier 1 Banks, Capital Markets/Hedge Funds, and Insurance). This is an individual contributor role with potential to build a team down the road.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop and own executive-level relationships (e.g., Chief Risk Officers, Heads of Quantitative Strategy, BU/Function leads) at target accounts in partnership with your Field Engineer counterpart.
- Pipeline Generation: Develop a pipeline of sales opportunities across IonQ’s full stack, including Quantum Computing for portfolio optimization, Quantum Networking for secure financial data transfer, and Quantum Sensing for high-precision timing in trading.
- Strategic Qualification: Qualify and prioritize pipeline opportunities based on client impact potential, financial profitability, timing, and long-term strategic alignment with IonQ’s roadmap.
- Full Lifecycle Ownership: Own all phases of the sales lifecycle—from relationship development and technical qualification to proposal/RFP response, complex negotiations, and deal closure.
- Internal Collaboration: Ensure support of the broader IonQ organization to successfully pursue high-value opportunities throughout the sales cycle.
- Retention & Expansion: Partner with Customer Success post-sale to ensure high satisfaction, driving renewals and identifying opportunities for incremental revenue
You’d be a good fit with:
- Industry GTM Tenure: Minimum of 10 years of experience selling to the Financial Services Industry with quota-carrying responsibilities and a proven ability to close multi-million dollar platform or infrastructure deals.
- HPC/Analytics Infrastructure Sales: Experience selling high-performance computing (HPC), AI/ML infrastructure (hardware or software) to the industry.
- Industry Network: Existing relationships within Fortune 100 Financial Institutions (including Global Money Center Banks, Hedge funds/Institutional Asset Managers, and global Insurance providers.
- Complex GTM Problem Solving: Ability to navigate the unique procurement, compliance, and regulatory hurdles of the FSI industry and ability to find win wins in seemingly unwinnable deals
- STEM Foundation: An undergraduate degree in Math, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant technical field (STEM).
You’d be a great fit with:
- Targeted senior level relationships: Existing Senior-level relationships (CTO, Head of Quant, Head of Alpha Generation) within the Capital Markets and High-Frequency Trading (HFT) industry.
- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of FSI business drivers and underlying processes that can be enhanced using Quantum, such as Monte Carlo simulations, Derivative Pricing, and Multi-modal Portfolio Optimization.
- AI/ML for FSI: Experience selling AI/ML or high-performance analytics solutions for use by Quants, Risk Managers, and Marketing Analytics users.
- Quantum Literacy: Knowledge of Quantum Technologies (Compute and Networks) specifically as they relate to Quantum Algorithms/ Applications in FSI as well as Quantum enabled cyber security.
- Category Creation: Experience in category creation selling—i.e., creating compelling approaches to sell frontier technology solutions that are not yet a standard line item in IT or R&D budgets.

The approximate base salary range for this position is $169,869 - $242,612. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, and equity.

We are looking for a Senior Quantum Sales Executive to be part of our US Go-To-Market team whose mission is to bring IonQ’s offering—including Quantum Hardware (Systems and Networks), Software, Applications, and Access—to a curated set of clients across the Life Sciences ecosystem (Pharma/Biotech, Healthcare Providers, CROs, and MedTech). This is an individual contributor role with the potential to build a team down the road.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop and own executive-level relationships with target accounts (e.g., VPs of R&D, Chief Scientific Officers, and Innovation Leads) in partnership with your Field Engineer counterpart.
- Pipeline Generation: Develop a robust pipeline across IonQ’s full stack, including Quantum Computing for drug discovery, Quantum Networking for secure data sharing, and Quantum Sensing for next-gen medical diagnostics.
- Strategic Qualification: Prioritize opportunities based on clinical impact, financial profitability, and long-term strategic alignment with IonQ’s roadmap.
- Full Lifecycle Ownership: Own every phase of the sales lifecycle from initial relationship building and technical qualification to RFP response, high-stakes negotiation, and closing.
- Internal Alignment: Ensure support of the broader organization to successfully pursue opportunities throughout the sales lifecycle
- Retention & Expansion: Partner with Customer Success post-sale to ensure high satisfaction, driving renewals and identifying opportunities for incremental revenue
You’d be a good fit with:
- Industry Tenure: Minimum of 10 years of experience selling to the Life Sciences and Healthcare sectors with quota-carrying responsibilities and a proven track record of closing multi-million dollar infrastructure or platform deals.
- Deep Network: relationships within Fortune 100 Life Sciences firms (including Top 20 Pharma, global CROs, and major MedTech players).
- Category Creation: Proven ability to sell "off-budget" or "future-state" solutions that do not yet have a standard line item in IT or R&D budgets.
- Complex Problem Solving: Ability to navigate the unique procurement hurdles of the healthcare industry, including HIPAA compliance and validated environment requirements.
- Technical Infrastructure Sales: Experience selling high-performance computing (HPC), AI infrastructure, or complex medical imaging hardware to the industry.
- STEM Foundation: An undergraduate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
You’d be a great fit with:
- Genomics & Personalized Medicine Expertise: Existing Senior-level relationships (Head of Genomics, Chief Data Officer) within the Genomics and Personalized Medicine space.
- Domain Fluency: Deep understanding of the business drivers in BioTech and Genomics, specifically how Quantum can accelerate Lead Optimization, Protein Folding, and Polygenic Risk Scoring.
- AI/ML for Drug Discovery: Experience selling AI/ML or "In-Silico" discovery solutions to Computational Chemists, Bioinformaticians, and Clinical Researchers.
- Quantum Literacy: Fundamental knowledge of Quantum Technologies and their specific application to molecular simulation or high-resolution diagnostics.

The Role:
IonQ is seeking a driven Quantum Sales Executive to lead growth in Germany and the broader European market. As a pivotal member of our cross-functional team, you will have the unique opportunity to drive IonQ's mission of developing the world’s most advanced quantum computers. This role sits at the forefront of category creation, bringing IonQ’s platform offering (quantum hardware, networking, software, and applications) to hyperscalers, neo-cloud providers, AI labs, HPC centers, and government organizations.
You will operate in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, driving high-value, technically sophisticated deals while helping customers understand and adopt next-generation computing architectures. This is a rare opportunity to shape an entirely new market while delivering meaningful revenue impact.
Responsibilities:
New Market Creation & Strategic Sales
- Identify, develop, and progress a robust pipeline of commercial and government opportunities for IonQ’s innovative products and services.
- Craft tailored customer proposals that adhere to specific customer and regional requirements, with a particular focus on the DACH countries
- Act as a category creator, educating customers on the value of quantum
- acceleration beyond traditional compute (CPU/GPU) paradigms
- Drive double-digit million-dollar/euro annual bookings
- Build and own executive relationships with CTOs,, Infrastructure Leaders, and Research Organizations
- Engage with hyperscalers, neo-cloud providers, AI labs, national labs, and government agencies
- Negotiate and finalize agreements, fostering long-term business relationships.
- Position IonQ as a strategic partner in next-generation compute and secure infrastructure
Complex Deal Execution
- Own the full sales lifecycle:
- Opportunity identification and qualification
- Technical discovery and architectural alignment
- Proposal development (including RFPs and government tenders)
- Negotiation and contract execution
- Navigate CAPEX-heavy, multi-year, multi-stakeholder deals ($10M+)
Technical Solution Selling
- Drive adoption of:
- Hybrid quantum-classical architectures integrated into AI and HPC environments
- Quantum networking solutions, including quantum-safe communications (PQC, QKD)
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to deliver successful outcomes
- Influence internal strategy based on customer needs and market signals
- Contribute to long-term GTM strategy and future team build-out
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise sales or business development within complex, high-tech environments
- Proven track record of closing $10M+ deals involving infrastructure, hardware, or advanced technology solutions
- Demonstrated ability to open new markets and sell emerging technologies
- Exceptional relationship management and business acumen.

The Role:
IonQ is seeking a highly motivated Sales Executive to drive revenue growth within cybersecurity-focused accounts. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing opportunities where IonQ’s quantum technologies intersect with security, encryption, and next-generation risk mitigation strategies.
You will work closely with technical teams, product specialists, and executive stakeholders to position IonQ’s solutions as critical components in the future of secure computing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting security-focused enterprise and commercial organizations
- Identify opportunities related to quantum-safe encryption, cybersecurity resilience, and post-quantum readiness
- Build and maintain strong relationships with CIOs, CISOs, IT leaders, and executive decision-makers
- Lead the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, solution positioning, negotiation, and closing
- Collaborate with core sales, engineering, & technical teams to tailor solutions that align with customer security needs
- Educate customers on the impact of quantum computing on cybersecurity and encryption
- Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management using CRM tools
- Represent IonQ at industry events, conferences, and client engagements
Requirements:
- 10+ years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of enterprise sales experience, preferably in cybersecurity or advanced technology sectors
- Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas in complex, consultative sales environments
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts (encryption, threat landscapes, compliance frameworks)
- Experience selling to large enterprises or government agencies
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to operate in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders internally and externally
- Strategic thinking and solution-oriented selling
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management

Preferred Qualifications:

The Role:
IonQ is seeking a highly motivated Sales Executive to drive revenue growth within cybersecurity-focused accounts. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing opportunities where IonQ’s quantum technologies intersect with security, encryption, and next-generation risk mitigation strategies.
You will work closely with technical teams, product specialists, and executive stakeholders to position IonQ’s solutions as critical components in the future of secure computing.

The Role:
We are looking for an Account Executive that will be part of our US Federal Go-To-Market team whose mission is to bring IonQ’s offering—including Quantum Hardware (Systems and Networks), Software, Applications, and Access—to a curated set of clients across the US Department of War.
