Position Summary

The AutoCAD Administrator is responsible for the support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IEM’s AutoCAD standards, symbol libraries, and design blocks. Being part of CAD team that will own the AutoCAD library, drives standardization across the organization, and ensures CAD tools enable engineering efficiency, accuracy, and innovation. Response to any AutoCAD users request for help and deliver help in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities

• Part of team that will Manage IEM’s CAD library, including development of standardized symbols, design blocks, templates, and drawing tools to support engineering productivity.
• Able to create and edit documentation, and enforcement of IEM-wide CAD standards, consolidating best practices from all locations into a unified, well-documented system.
• Partner with engineering, mechanical design, and production teams to develop and maintain libraries of standard layouts for repeatable IEM products, panel arrangements, and wiring diagrams.
• Work with Documentation department to drive innovation in CAD workflows, identifying and implementing improvements to reduce design time, minimize errors, and improve manufacturing readiness.
•  Maintain and update physical component layout drawings, wiring symbols, and diagram standards to reflect current product offerings and best practices.
• Develop training programs and provide guidance to engineers and CAD users on best practices, new tools, and updates to CAD standards.
• Experience using SharePoint for documents and AutoCAD file management.
• Ability to create, edit, and maintain AutoLISP routines

Competencies

• Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD and/or DRAFTSIGHT, including advanced Dynamic block creation and editing, attribute management, and template development.
• Demonstrated ability to create, document, and implement CAD standards across multiple teams and locations.
• Ability to install and configure AutoCAD using IEM-standard customized installations, including setup of company-specific file paths and resource mappings on new user workstations.
•  Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and/or SolidWorks Electrical is desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
• Effective communicator, able to train, mentor, and influence adoption of new standards and processes across all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation, training materials, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical field, engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CAD management, library development, or related role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Proven experience implementing and managing AutoCAD standards across multiple teams.
• Experience in electrical or mechanical equipment manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with process documentation and training program development is a plus.

The Program Manager – Engineering Quality and Reporting Systems will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of engineering measurement systems.

The Program Manager serves as the central coordinator between Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to define, monitor, and improve the key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive design and product quality, on-time delivery, and Design for Manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering Quality Program Leadership

• Develop and execute the engineering quality metrics program across all product lines (e.g., switchboards, MV MetalClad Switchgear, control panels, Power Distribution Units).
• Standardize processes for capturing and reporting engineering and product quality data across design and production sites.
• Manage cross-functional initiatives to reduce quality issues and improve product reliability.

1. Quality Metrics Development & Reporting

• Define, establish data sources for, track, and maintain KPIs such as:
• Design defect density and engineering change order (ECO) rework rate
• Field failure rate (MTBF / MTTR) and warranty claim trends as a result of design issues
• First-pass yield (FPY) and end-of-line test performance
• Corrective and preventive action (CAPA) closure time
• Supplier quality performance for critical electrical components
• Partner with Data & Analytics team to develop automated dashboards and reports (e.g., Tableau) for leadership visibility to drive better business decisions.
• Serve as the product owner for engineering data products
• Support data quality, governance, and documentation for engineering metrics

1. Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement

• Drive structured problem-solving (8D, A3, DMAIC) for design quality issues.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and process engineering teams as well as with manufacturing and field service teams to identify recurring issues and implement design-for-quality (DFQ) principles.
• Work with Quality Team to coordinate reliability and validation testing to verify corrective actions and ensure long-term durability.

1. Standards, Compliance, and Auditing

• Ensure engineering processes align with industry standards and certifications such as UL, IEEE, ISO 9001, and ANSI requirements.
• Support internal and external quality audits; maintain documentation required for compliance and product certification.
• Support Quality Department in making control plans related to engineering and design deliverables
• Define Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) to identify risk and help engineers to understand and mitigate risk in the design phase.

1. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with:
• Engineering – to design and validate for manufacturability and serviceability.
• Manufacturing – to ensure feedback loops from production quality metrics to design teams and to help produce consistent data inputs where they do not exist
• Field Service & Warranty – to integrate customer feedback into continuous improvement cycle and to drive factor escapes toward zero.

1. Change Management & Training

• Champion Engineering Quality Review Board, holding regular meetings with engineering and external stakeholders where we present and review KPI’s.
• Lead cultural adoption of data-driven decision-making and proactive quality management within engineering.
• Conduct training for engineers and technicians on metrics interpretation, root cause tools, and reliability engineering concepts.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).

Experience:

• 7+ years in engineering, manufacturing, or quality leadership roles in power distribution equipment, electrical assemblies, or industrial systems manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success implementing engineering quality systems or performance dashboards.
• Familiarity with power distribution components (switchgear, MCCs, breakers, relays, busbars, etc.).

Skills:

• Proficiency in data visualization (Power BI, Tableau) and statistical tools (Minitab, JMP).
• Able to handle a Chaotic and fast paced working environment and to drive transformative organizational change
• Understanding of reliability analysis, DFMEA, PFMEA, and SPC.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and executive levels.

Compensation
