Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Metal Fabrication Technician II (Tech II) to join our prototyping team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in fabrication, metrology, and set up and operation of machines including laser/punches, routers, and brakes. Tech II responsibilities include the manufacture of metal parts, evaluation of drawings, and documentation. This role is critical. Applicants must think independently, and work with little supervision. Production schedules must be meticulously maintained.

Responsibilities

• Analyze diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other instructions, or procedures for correctness, clarity and manufacturability.
• Collaborate to document and fix errors.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and improve techniques.
• Set up, and operate fabricating machines, such as press brake, laser/punch machine, horizontal bend machine, and CNC router for various metals including steel, aluminum copper.
• Manufacture metal and plastic parts to specifications and schedules.
• Accurately utilize measuring devices such as 3D Scanners, scales, gauges, rulers, micrometers, calipers, squares, and tape measure.
• Comply with all safety, quality and work rules, guidelines, and regulations.
• Maintain production equipment, and a safe, clean, and healthy work environment.
• Escalate problems and communicate progress.
• Accurately transact data and update dashboards.
• Handle, store and retrieve materials.
• Support others.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of fabrication experience; preferably in mixed metal fabrication.
• 1-2 years of experience, or training in document control.
• Forklift certified.
• Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Industrialization Electrical Systems Engineer to support the development and manufacturing of low and medium voltage switchgear products. This role is critical to ensure the accuracy, safety, and reliability of electrical assemblies by reviewing designs, proposing wiring methods, validating product functionality, and collaborating with electrical designers and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Review and Validation:

• Interpret electrical schematics as single-line and three-line, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings to ensure manufacturability and compliance with standards.
• Identify design errors or inconsistencies and propose corrective actions to design teams.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineers to align electrical design with physical constraints and manufacturing capabilities.
• Propose improvements to wiring methods and component selection to enhance reliability and ease of assembly.

1. Process Definition and Documentation:

• Define and document standardized wiring processes for various switchgear configurations.
• Develop validation protocols for electrical assemblies, including continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing.
• Ensure traceability of design changes and maintain version control of electrical documentation.
• Support the creation of work instructions and training materials for technicians and assemblers.

1. Product Validation and Testing:

• Lead the development of electrical validation procedures for prototype and production units.
• Define and implement test setups for verifying electrical performance and safety.
• Analyze test results and support root cause analysis for failures or deviations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., UL, IEC, IEEE) and internal quality requirements.

1. Training and Technical Support:

• Train technicians and assemblers on proper wiring techniques, safety protocols, and interpretation of electrical drawings (single-line and three-line)
• Provide on-the-floor support during initial builds and troubleshooting of electrical issues.
• Develop visual aids and reference materials to support consistent execution of electrical tasks.

1. Continuous Improvement and Collaboration:

• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on manufacturability.
• Collaborate with design, operations, and quality teams to improve product performance and reduce assembly errors. Building a close relationship with IEM Electrical Engineers
• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
• Recommend new tools, components, or technologies to enhance electrical assembly processes.

Competencies:

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and wiring practices for low and medium voltage applications.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.

Assembly and Wiring Technician responsibilities include the assembly of metal, plastic and electronic parts, evaluation of drawings, documentation, and process control. This role is critical, and applicants must be self-starters who require little supervision to assemble switchgears quickly and safely. Production schedules must be meticulously maintained.

• Terminate, route, bundle, and label wires and wire harnesses according to IEM standards, and methods.
• Operate computer, terminal and wire labeling equipment.

• Scale ladders to attach overhead objects.
• Assure connectivity of cables and test for compliance to standards.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and improve techniques.
