About the role
ID.me is looking for an AI Creative Designer to join our Design Team and shape how we create visual content for the communities we serve — from military members and first responders to nurses, teachers, and beyond. This role combines the eye of a photographer, the instinct of a marketer, and the mind of an engineer to produce photorealistic imagery and visual assets that connect with diverse audiences and inspire action.
You'll use the latest generative AI tools to create hero images, email visuals, personalized ads, social content, illustrations, and eventually video. But this role goes beyond producing individual assets. You'll also write code and build the systems that make personalized, on-brand visual content creation scalable — so that the right image reaches the right audience at the right time.
The ideal candidate has a strong creative portfolio, a photography background, and technical proficiency in automation, scripting, and building generation workflows
Responsibilities
- Create photorealistic images and visual assets using generative AI tools (Nano Banana, ChatGPT/DALL-E, Flux, Seedream, Runway, Seedance, and emerging platforms) for landing pages, emails, digital ads, and social media.
- Apply deep knowledge of photography fundamentals — focal length, aperture, depth of field, lighting, lens characteristics — to craft prompts that produce imagery indistinguishable from professional photography.
- Work both independently and alongside Marketing, Design, and Product team members, communicating creative vision clearly and aligning output with business goals.
- Architect systems that enable hyper-personalized visual content, adapting imagery to specific audience segments, demographics, and campaign contexts.
- Stay ahead of the rapidly evolving AI landscape, continuously evaluating and integrating new tools, models, and techniques.
- Develop and maintain prompt libraries, style references, and brand parameters to ensure visual consistency across all AI-generated content.
- Partner with Marketing, Design, and Product teams to translate campaign objectives, audience insights, and brand guidelines into visual concepts that communicate clearly and drive engagement.
- Support future expansion into AI-assisted short video creation.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience coding, with ability sufficient to build generation systems, automation pipelines, or API integrations (Python, JavaScript, REST APIs, or equivalent).
- 2+ years of experience with generative AI image creation tools such as Nano Banana, ChatGPT/DALL-E, Flux, Seedream, Runway, Seedance, or other emerging platforms.
- 2+ years of hands-on photography experience with working knowledge of camera settings, lighting, composition, and the technical details that make images feel authentic.
- 2+ years of experience with personalized asset generation systems or dynamic content pipelines such as Contentful or Braze.
- A portfolio that includes: AI-generated photorealistic visual assets, traditional photography shot with a camera, websites or applications you've coded, and marketing campaigns you've created or contributed to.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Photography, Computer Science, Marketing, or related field — or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating visual content for marketing campaigns, including landing pages, emails, and digital advertising.
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling and marketing principles.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with the design tool Figma.
- Experience building automated workflows using APIs, webhooks, or pipeline orchestration tools.
- Background in or exposure to communities such as military, healthcare workers, teachers, or first responders.
- Understanding of A/B testing, personalization strategies, and audience segmentation.
- Experience with AI video generation tools (Runway, Seedance, or similar).

Role Overview
The Senior Designer plays a key role in bridging creativity and systems thinking, shaping how design systems are applied across web, product, and marketing experiences.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with other designers, UX partners, and product teams to bring ideas to life, translating concepts into cohesive, user-centered designs that feel consistent across touchpoints. You’re comfortable moving fluidly between early exploration and detailed execution, balancing speed with craft, and maintaining an eye for both structure and storytelling through the thoughtful application of design systems.
A strong sense of UI motion and interaction design is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Craft & Execution
- Conceptualize and design creative solutions that bring clarity, cohesion, and visual impact across web, product, and marketing experiences.
- Work from concept to delivery with a systems mindset, applying and expanding the frameworks of the existing design system to ensure scalability and consistency.
- Use interaction, and storytelling to elevate the quality and personality of digital experiences.
- Adapt visual direction across multiple touchpoints, balancing brand integrity with usability and performance.
- Set the standard for design quality, inspiring peers through strong execution and creative problem-solving.
Design Systems & Consistency
- Apply and evolve design system components and visual frameworks to maintain consistency and scalability across all touchpoints.
- Identify gaps or opportunities for improvement within the system and help define patterns that support product and brand growth.
- Support documentation and guidelines that enable broader adoption and alignment across design and development, with a strong understanding of variables, variants, and styles.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with product, UX, and marketing teams to translate creative direction into practical, user-centered solutions.
- Communicate design intent effectively through visuals, prototypes, and storytelling that align teams and stakeholders.
- Contribute to a collaborative design culture by participating in reviews, sharing insights, and providing constructive feedback.
- Lead through influence — fostering alignment, elevating work quality, and helping peers think through design challenges with clarity.
Design Quality & Process Improvement
- Help identify and refine design processes that improve efficiency, clarity, and collaboration within the broader design organization.
- Advocate for design excellence through consistency, accessibility, and attention to detail across all deliverables.
- Partner with other designers to uphold and evolve visual standards, mentoring peers and encouraging executional excellence across the team.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to adapt visual direction and design language across multiple touchpoints, including web, product, marketing, and brand experiences. (Bonus point if you have agency experience).
- Strong foundation in visual design principles. Composition, layout, typography, color, and hierarchy, with ability to apply them with both creativity and consistency.
- Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Comfortable using motion tools such as After Effects and prototyping.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams in design, UX, product, and marketing.

Role Overview
The Design Systems Specialist, Motion defines how ID.me moves — shaping the rhythm, responsiveness, and emotion behind every interaction across our products, platforms, and ecosystem.
You’ll craft the motion language that powers our design system — establishing principles, tokens, and patterns that unify everything into one seamless experience. Working closely with Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams, you’ll translate design intent into living systems that scale across native, web and on-device platforms.

Your work will ensure every transition, micro-interaction, and animation reinforces confidence, continuity, and our brand’s promise: a verified identity you control.
Key Responsibilities
Motion Systems & Interaction Language
- Define and evolve a motion design system — principles, patterns, and tokens that scale across platforms and devices.
- Establish motion guidelines and frameworks that connect brand expression with functional UI behaviors.
- Translate static components into living systems that express hierarchy, feedback, and state changes through motion.
- Collaborate with engineering partners to ensure motion tokens, variables, and libraries are consistent and performant across environments.
- Document motion principles with examples and rationale that make adoption easy across teams.
Craft & Execution
- Create high-fidelity motion prototypes to communicate interaction intent, transitions, and micro-interactions.
- Use motion to clarify relationships, guide focus, and reduce cognitive load in complex interfaces.
- Collaborate with brand and marketing teams to ensure product motion aligns with broader brand storytelling.
- Push the boundaries of how design systems communicate emotion, rhythm, and identity through animation.
- Maintain balance between expressive and systematic motion — ensuring performance, accessibility, and usability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with product, design systems, and engineering teams to bring motion principles into component libraries and production code.
- Lead motion reviews and motion audits — identifying inconsistencies and opportunities for refinement.
- Serve as a mentor and advocate for motion literacy across the organization, helping designers and developers integrate motion intentionally.
- Communicate complex motion concepts clearly through storytelling, prototypes, and visual documentation.
Design Quality & Systems Evolution
- Ensure motion contributes to accessibility and inclusivity (e.g., prefers-reduced-motion compliance).
- Evolve the design system’s interaction layer as the bridge between static design and living product experience.
- Define success metrics and qualitative patterns for motion consistency and performance.
- Contribute to the broader design system roadmap, influencing how motion integrates with typography, color, spacing, and component evolution.
- Champion accessibility, ensuring motion adheres to prefers-reduced-motion standards without sacrificing meaning.
- Design motion patterns that aid cognitive understanding — using animation to communicate hierarchy, spatial relationships, and system feedback for users with visual or cognitive challenges.
- Develop adaptive motion states that adjust intensity, duration, or behavior based on user settings or context, ensuring motion remains inclusive, not exclusionary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience creating and maintaining motion systems within a design system or large-scale product environment.
- Deep understanding of animation principles, easing, timing, and choreography across web and native platforms.
- Expertise with Figma, Figma Make, After Effects, or similar motion and prototyping tools.
- Strong foundation in visual design, hierarchy, and interaction design — with the ability to use motion as a storytelling and usability tool.
- Experience collaborating with engineers to translate design motion into production-ready code (e.g., via CSS transitions, Lottie, or motion libraries).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and advocate for motion as part of the design system’s DNA.
