Sanitation Lead - 2nd Shift - Days Off: Sunday & Monday

This role follows a 2nd shift schedule with designated days off on Sunday and Monday. Shift hours are listed below.
Sunday: OFF
Monday: OFF
Tuesday: 3:30pm - 12:00am
Wednesday: 4:30pm - 1:00am
Thursday: 4:30pm - 1:00am
Friday: 4:30pm - 1:00am
Saturday: 4:30pm - 1:00am
The Sanitation Lead is responsible for providing oversight of the sanitation team for their specific shift for the cleaning and sanitizing of food assembly and storage areas and non-food handling areas (i.e. break rooms, locker rooms).
Detailed Responsibilities
Executes Sanitation Plan
- Responsible for assigning tasks to Sanitation & Janitorial team to complete required tasks
- Verifies equipment and/or chemicals are being used appropriately
- Observes for unsanitary practices and conditions to make necessary improvements
- Monitors sanitation team for usage of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Supports Core Sanitation Activities
- Demonstrates mastery of all core Sanitation & Janitorial Associate responsibilities
- Responsible for accurately documenting master sanitation activity completion for their shift in the appropriate application
Training, Retraining, and Coaching Sanitation/Janitorial Associates
- Serves as point of contact for all Home Chef Sanitation Tools & Applications, trains Sanitation & Janitorial Associates on access and usage
- Delivers training, retraining and coaching in real time to Sanitation & Janitorial Associates to correctly perform their job as necessary, including safety policies
Issue Escalation
- Promptly notifies Sanitation Supervisor, Sanitation Superintendent and/or FSQA Leadership when sanitation issues arise
- Maintain working knowledge of chemical inventory levels, escalating to Sanitation Supervisor or Sanitation Superintendent when inventory levels are low
General Responsibilities
- Follow the facility GMPs and help enforce them throughout the facility
- Support the efforts of the company to maintain our food safety system (SQF) and quality programs
- Follow all company policies and procedures including but not limited to related to safe chemical handling and lock out, tag out (LOTO)
Attitude and Attendance
- Arrives to work at scheduled time and follows time off request procedure
- Communicates with co-workers in a professional manner
- Treats co-workers with respect at all times
- Escalates attitude issues among Sanitation & Janitorial Associates to Supervisor and/or Sanitation Superintendent

Qualifications

- General high school degree, or equivalent, (e.g. GED).
- Fluency (reading and writing) in English is required, fluent in Spanish is preferred
- 2+ years of experience working in the food, safety or sanitation industry
- Demonstrated informal leadership in previous positions
- Demonstrated ability to read a Safety Data Sheet (SDS), preferred
- Experience with sanitation of automated equipment, preferred
- Previous experience with GFSI, SQF, FDA, and USDA audits, preferred

Home Chef offers the base salary range as posted below, with the exact offer depending on factors such as geographic location, experience, skills, and internal equity. While compensation is within the provided range, it is not typical for offers to be made at the upper end. In addition to base salary, Home Chef provides a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare coverage, 401k match, and paid time off.

Sanitation Associate shifts and hours are identified below. Days off and available shifts vary based on site needs at the time.

The Sanitation Associate is responsible for all activities involved in maintaining the cleanliness and food safe environment in the food processing facility. The Sanitation Associate is expected to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times, maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, organized and safe manner at all times, and follow all health and safety regulations.
Detailed Responsibilities
General Cleaning
- Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean, and sanitize receptacles on a daily basis
- Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing them with floor scrubber
- Clean and wipe down racks
- Clean metal tables and sanitize on a daily basis
- Re-stock vinyl gloves in all sizes in designated areas
- Check for leaks, drips, and condensation
Equipment Cleaning
- Clean all food manufacturing machinery according to SSOPs
- Clean and sanitize hand wash sinks and three department sinks
- Wash dishes and utensils as necessary
- Use proper PPE while performing cleaning task
- Follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures according to policy when applicable
General Responsibilities

- Escalates attitude issues among janitors to FSQA Manager
- Uses teamwork with working with production throughout the day
Qualifications

- Fluency in Spanish and English is preferred
- 2+ years of experience working in the food industry
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must have floor presence and be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
- General high school degree, or equivalent, (e.g. GED)
