THE OPPORTUNITY
We are hiring a Director of Security Engineering for our Information Security team in Portugal! This is a Remote – Portugal position, meaning you can work from anywhere within the country. Please note that this role is only open to candidates in Brazil.
The Information Security team is responsible for protecting our subscription-based product serving millions of users. As a Director of Security Engineering, you will be the technical leader driving application security, DevSecOps practices, and security engineering across our 10 product verticals. This is a unique opportunity to build security capabilities in a high-growth environment. You will help construct the technical security strategy, architect security solutions, lead threat modeling, and establish secure development practices across all engineering teams. The role requires deep technical expertise in application security, cloud security, and modern DevSecOps practices.In this capacity, you will serve as the primary architect for our security engineering roadmap, ensuring that protection is integrated at every stage. You will oversee the deployment of automated security tooling, mentor senior engineers in advanced vulnerability research, and partner with product leaders to balance rapid feature delivery with robust risk mitigation. Your leadership will be pivotal in scaling our security posture to meet the demands of a global, multi-vertical ecosystem while fostering a culture of shared security responsibility.
YOUR IMPACT
- Lead the technical security strategy for product and application security, defining architecture standards, security baselines, and secure coding guidelines aligned with OWASP ASVS, NIST SSDF, and BSIMM frameworks.
- Architect and implement a comprehensive DevSecOps pipeline, integrating SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanning across all CI/CD pipelines serving 10 product verticals.
- Drive threat modeling practices across critical product flows, partnering with engineering leads to identify and mitigate security risks before they reach production.
- Design and implement a centralized security telemetry architecture, connecting application logs, WAF events, and fraud signals into a unified SIEM platform for real-time detection.
- Lead the technical evaluation, selection, and implementation of security tools (SAST/DAST, SIEM/SOAR, PAM, API Gateway security, container security scanners).
- Establish and mentor a team of 7-8 embedded DevSecOps engineers across product verticals, providing technical guidance and ensuring consistent security standards.
- Own the technical roadmap for reducing MTTD from >48h to <1h and fraud detection from D+1 to real-time through security engineering and automation.

WHO YOU ARE
- A seasoned security engineer with experience in application security, cloud security, or security engineering, with at least 4 years in a senior technical leadership role.
- Deep expertise in secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC), threat modeling (STRIDE, PASTA), and security architecture for distributed systems and microservices.
- Hands-on experience with security tooling: SAST (Checkmarx, Snyk, SonarQube), DAST (Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP), SCA, container scanning (Trivy, Prisma), and SIEM platforms (Elastic, Splunk, Sentinel).
- Extensive knowledge of cloud security (AWS and/or GCP), including IAM, VPC security, secrets management, and container orchestration security (Kubernetes/EKS).
- Experience building and scaling DevSecOps programs, integrating security into CI/CD pipelines, and mentoring engineering teams on secure coding practices.
- Proficiency in at least two programming languages (Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript) with the ability to review code, write security tooling, and automate security workflows.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, PCI DSS, LGPD/GDPR) and how they translate into technical security controls.
- Effective communication skills (Portuguese and English) to translate complex technical security concepts into actionable guidance for engineering teams at all levels.

The Darwin team is responsible for the central nervous system of our company. We build and maintain the internal backoffice ecosystem that empowers our operations teams to scale. THE OPPORTUNITY

YOUR IMPACT
- Deliver products initiatives using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently;
- Stay on top of program initiatives schedules, providing clarity of risks, deadlines, and efforts to stakeholders;
- Lead the collaborative cross-team decision – prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team;
- Lead initiative across squads, connecting the required parts and organizing interdependencies across other focus areas;
- Facilitate decision-making on changes in product development, ensuring consequences are understood, and changes are visible.
- Apply experience, practical knowledge, and judgment to drive the technical evaluation process, which may include point of contacts, across multi-level internal and external stakeholders;
- Guide teams into the Agile best practices, facilitating ceremonies, and fostering an accountability culture of delivery within the teams.
- Track, in collaboration with the product team, problems on the initiatives, troubleshooting incidents, assessing both impact and risk.
- Monitor and provide visibility into OKRs, initiative status, and agile metrics that identify bottlenecks, and engage teams on opportunities for improvement.
WHO YOU ARE
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience;
- Consolidated experience in computer/ software technology;
- Experience with the Salesforce platform;
- Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects in an Agile environment.
- Advanced experience in Agile methodologies and frameworks;
- Experience with software development processes and agile tools (e.g., Jira, Pivotal Tracker, Bugzilla, etc.);
- Experience with troubleshooting technical issues, including capturing and analyzing logs;
- Knowledge of Software Architecture and system integration;

Responsible for the platform that serves the entire Wellhub business, processing millions of transactions for users and companies around the globe. THE OPPORTUNITY
We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to our Fraud & Prevention team in Brazil! This is a Remote – Brazil position, meaning you can work from anywhere within the country. Please note that this role is only open to candidates in Brazil.
Our team is responsible for identifying, preventing, and removing fraudulent actors from Wellhub. We work closely with all teams inside Wellhub to identify potential fraud vectors and the actions to take in order to prevent and/or remove those fraudulent actors.
YOUR IMPACT
- Collaborate with a cross functional team spanning operation, product management, and engineering to build new technologies and features;
- Build production systems that prevent fraud from happening;
- Help to prototype, implement and productionize new anti fraud solutions at scale;
- Ensure successful deliveries, and promote the long-term technical health of our journeys;
- Ensure a high bar on code quality standards, making sure developers are proud of their work;
- Apply development best practices;
- Take part in incident resolution and troubleshooting in the production environment;
- Take ownership of critical features, be accountable, and possess a high level of ownership by following up on engineering SLOs and product KPIs;
- Interact with the product team and stakeholders to impact the business;
- Mentor other engineers;

WHO YOU ARE
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent practical experience;
- Proactive learner eager to master new technologies and resolve challenging technical issues;
- Experience in developing RESTful web services;
- Experience with Java or Kotlin;
- Nice to have experience with Golang;
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL technology (such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB), understanding common use cases and performance pitfalls;
- Experience dealing with event-driven architectures and message brokers (such as KAFKA, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, etc.) understanding of their use cases and pitfalls:
- Experience applying computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis;
- Experience with microservices and high-volume distributed systems;
- Experience with Cloud-based architectures (AWS experience is nice to have);
- A true team player who loves working towards both team and individual goals with years of experience in web development.Strong communication skills, including verbal and written English and Portuguese.

WHO YOU ARE
Frontend Software Engineer
- An engineer with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience and with solid experience using modern component-oriented front-end frameworks such as React;
- An expert using state-of-the-art JS ecosystem tooling such as Typescript / GraphQL / CSS-in-JS;
- Experience in designing and developing modern web applications;
- Developed or worked with shared Design Systems;
- A CSS Veteran who is not afraid to experience new techniques;
- Being open to new experiences, willing to learn and grow;
- Willing to work within an agile environment meant to be continuously challenged and improved upon;
- Understands the various testing methodologies such as unit, integration, and end-to-end tests;
- A believer in automation (be it tests, CI/CD, or something else);
- Strong communication skills (both in English and Portuguese) to work with multidisciplinary teams located in several countries with different cultures.
Backend Software Engineer
- An engineer with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience;
- Experienced in mentoring multiple multidisciplinary teams of software engineers;
- Experienced in architecting large-scale multi-tier web applications;
- Experienced in designing and developing complex modern web applications;
- Experienced in Cloud-based architectures (AWS / GCP);
- Experienced in developing RESTful web services collaborating with front-end teams to create mocks, define payloads and follow the HTTP best practices;
- Experienced in applying computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis;
- Experienced in working with SQL/NoSQL technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB understanding common use cases and performance pitfalls;
- Proficient in one or more programming languages (Kotlin /Java / Node.js/ Golang);
- Ability to communicate and present ideas and solutions in English.
