Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source powerhouse. There are more than 20M users of Grafana, the open source visualization tool, around the globe, monitoring everything from beehives to climate change in the Alps. The instantly recognizable dashboards have been spotted everywhere from a NASA launch and Minecraft HQ to Wimbledon and the Tour de France. Grafana Labs also helps more than 3,000 companies -- including Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, and eBay -- manage their observability strategies with the Grafana LGTM Stack, which can be run fully managed with Grafana Cloud or self-managed with the Grafana Enterprise Stack, both featuring scalable metrics (Grafana Mimir), logs (Grafana Loki), and traces (Grafana Tempo).
We’re scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different: an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work. Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do.
You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.
This is a remote position and we're considering candidates in the US or Canada (EST working hours preferred).
The Opportunity:
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Grafana Backend team. We strive to deeply understand developers, both internal and those who are part of our larger community. We play an active role in research to help deliver the best developer experience. Close collaboration with Product, Docs and Customer Experience is something you will regularly be engaging in.
What You’ll Be Doing:
This is not an exhaustive list, and we know that people can have a wealth of knowledge in their individual backgrounds. A list of some of the things we think would be ideal in this role are:
We invest heavily in developer productivity. You can use modern AI coding assistants as part of your daily workflow (your choice of tools, within security guidelines), backed by a company-funded usage budget so you can iterate quickly without unnecessary friction.
We encourage pragmatic AI-assisted development: faster prototyping, test generation, refactors, documentation, and incident follow-ups—always paired with strong code review and quality standards.
You’ll also have access to frontier models (e.g., GPT-Codex 5/3, Claude Opus 4.6, Gemini 3 Pro).
What Makes You a Great Fit:
Compensation & Rewards:
In Canada, the Base compensation range for this role is CAD 211,450 - CAD 253,740. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process. Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable) and other benefits listed here.

This is a remote opportunity and we would be interested in applicants located in Canadian time zones (EST + CST only at this time).
Application Core Services (AppCore) is a group within Platform, in the Foundations department. Foundations produces the Internal Engineering Platform (IEP) and partners closely with our Cloud, Enterprise, and Grafana teams. Our team develops the essential systems driving Grafana's business operations. We utilize the grafana.com platform to engineer bespoke integrations and solutions that unify the diverse technical ecosystem of a modern software enterprise.
The team owns important domain areas that help keep both our customer workflows and internal business processes running smoothly. AppCore is made up of multiple squads, each focused on one or more of these domains. Our work includes maintaining the billing engine responsible for customer usage calculation, automating provisioning after a customer signs a contract, integrating with cloud marketplaces such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and building and maintaining the user portal our customers rely on to manage their accounts.
This is a team working at the intersection of product, platform, and business operations. The systems we build are critical to how Grafana scales. We are looking for engineers who enjoy solving complex workflow and systems problems, improving reliability and developer experience, and building software that directly supports both customers and internal stakeholders.
As a company we are remote-first and global, we embrace people of different experiences and backgrounds to build diverse teams where every person brings a unique perspective to the software. Engineers at Grafana also have the opportunity to contribute to Open Source communities and collaborate across teams beyond their immediate scope.
What You’ll Be Doing:
The AppCore Stacks squad owns the systems that create, configure, reconcile, migrate, and operate Grafana Cloud stacks at scale. A stack is the customer-facing Grafana Cloud environment that connects an organization to Grafana and the backend services it uses, including Mimir, Loki, Tempo, plugins, dashboards, data sources, and stack-level configuration.
Our work sits at the intersection of product, platform, and operations. We build the control-plane services and workflows that keep stack state aligned across grafana.com, Stack State Service (SSS), Hosted Grafana, cloud regions, and the underlying Grafana Cloud infrastructure. When this domain works well, customers get reliable stack creation, safe configuration rollout, predictable migrations, and fewer manual operational interventions.
Of course, there is an on-call component to this role and one that we take seriously. As a company, we hire globally (remote-first) to ensure our on-call remains healthy and aligned to approximately 12 daylight hours per day. You will work closely with counterparts in other regions to provide balanced coverage and shared ownership.
At Grafana, we actively embrace AI-assisted and agentic development practices, integrating these technologies into both our engineering workflows and the systems we deliver. We encourage our engineers to thoughtfully leverage AI tools to enhance every stage of the lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, documentation, and operations. We also look for strategic opportunities to embed agentic capabilities within our services to eliminate toil, bolster reliability, and ensure that complex customer workflows remain resilient and safe.
We are seeking a Staff Backend Engineer who thrives on building production systems where correctness, scalability, and operational clarity are paramount. As a remote-first organization, you should be comfortable collaborating asynchronously across time zones and taking full ownership of the critical systems powering Grafana Cloud. Our team is small and operates with a high degree of independence; you will be expected to lead major projects, coordinate across service boundaries, and help define the technical direction for our domain.

This is a remote opportunity and we would be interested in applicants located in USA time zones (EST + CST only at this time).
You will be particularly successful in this role if you enjoy solving challenges related to stateful systems, eventual consistency, and reconciliation loops. We value engineers who can take ambiguous lifecycle requirements and transform them into explicit, modular solutions. You should be adept at breaking down complex systems work into safe, iterative increments while clearly communicating technical tradeoffs to both internal stakeholders and adjacent product teams.

This is a remote position. We are looking for candidates in the US and Canada.
The Opportunity:
As our Cloud / Grafana-as-a-service business continues to grow, we've started to change Grafana's core architecture to be fully multi-tenant and scalable, as well as a solid platform for our opinionated Cloud apps.
We're looking for someone with a lot of experience with SaaS platforms at scale. We are turning Grafana into a proper observability app platform where OSS and proprietary apps can directly tap into dashboards, alerts, incidents, and telemetry and deliver even more integrated experiences.
To get there, we need to refactor a big part of Grafana so that it’s simpler and standardized. Grafana is used by countless OSS and Cloud users across different platforms, so planning and rolling out changes safely to avoid service disruptions is crucial; we are looking for someone who is excited about this sort of work.

You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.
What You’ll Be Doing:
We invest heavily in developer productivity. You can use modern AI coding assistants as part of your daily workflow (your choice of tools, within security guidelines), backed by a company-funded usage budget so you can iterate quickly without unnecessary friction.
We encourage pragmatic AI-assisted development: faster prototyping, test generation, refactors, documentation, and incident follow-ups—always paired with strong code review and quality standards.
You’ll also have access to frontier models (e.g., GPT-Codex 5/3, Claude Opus 4.7, Gemini 3 Pro).
What Makes You a Great Fit:
In the United States, the compensation range for this role is $174,986 - $209,983 USD. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process. All of our roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), giving every team member ownership in Grafana Labs' success. We believe in shared outcomes—RSUs help us stay aligned and invested as we scale globally.
*Compensation ranges are country specific. If you are applying for this role from a different location than listed above, your recruiter will discuss your specific market’s defined pay range & benefits at the beginning of the process.
Why You’ll Thrive at Grafana Labs:
Equal Opportunity Employer: We will recruit, train, compensate and promote regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, disability, age, veteran status, and all the other fascinating characteristics that make us different and unique. We believe that equality and diversity builds a strong organization and we’re working hard to make sure that’s the foundation of our organization as we grow.

What is Grafana Cloud?
Grafana Cloud is our composable observability platform that integrates metrics, logs, traces, and profiles with Grafana. It allows our customers to leverage the best open source observability software – including Prometheus, Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope – without the overhead of installing, maintaining and scaling their own observability stack.
The Databases department owns and operates the telemetry databases that are Mimir for metrics, Loki for logs, Tempo for traces, and Pyroscope for profiles. We offer our databases as a Cloud service supporting Grafana Cloud.
Adaptive Telemetry Group
The Adaptive Telemetry group, part of the Databases department, has the mission of ensuring that all telemetry stored in our databases is worthy of attention. Under that mission, the group is responsible for the development of Adaptive Metrics, Adaptive Logs, Adaptive Traces and Adaptive Profiles.
Our Adaptive Telemetry solutions give users the ability to control and optimize their telemetry data. These solutions ensure that data storage is optimized based on individual usage patterns, so only the most valuable data is retained.
As a company we are remote-first and global, we embrace people of different experiences and backgrounds to build diverse teams where every person brings a new perspective to the software.
What will you be doing:
You are a motivated self starter with a bias towards action. You are customer focused. We build everything with our users in mind. You have a passion for creating intuitive products that fit customers’ needs

We are looking for an experienced product marketer to join as a key member of the Grafana Labs Product Marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating Go-To-Market programs that effectively position the value of Grafana Labs and its products to solve the needs of target customers. You will show how our products and solutions — as well as our open source strategy — help prospects and customers achieve their goals.

Product Marketing lives within the Product org rather than the Marketing org at Grafana Labs, and we are thinking differently about product marketing. Rather than purely executing launches or campaigns, we want PMMs to teach Product Managers and Engineers in our org how to think about growth and demand, and to codify product marketing knowledge in tools and processes that anyone in the organization can use.

We are a technical Corporate Engineering team, ensuring stakeholders across Grafana have the technology they need to excel. This covers the historical way of managing corporate systems, including IT Operations, Internal Helpdesk, Corporate Security, and service development. This also covers the future of corporate systems, where developers and non-technical employees alike need to build automations, ship internal applications, and deploy background agentic workloads. Our job is to provide the core systems and platforms to optimize our current and future stacks and enable all employees to own their own workflows.
We can build any tool we need, while knowing when to buy to improve velocity. We support a highly autonomous, technical, 100% remote, across the globe, cloud-native organization. To support our growth and ambitious vision, we embrace agile principles and values, share openly, default to action, and have an OSS-first mindset. We believe in high-velocity but sustainable expectations and timeframes, giving people the room to do great work, and keep our souls intact.
We are looking for a leader to curate and drive our Corporate Engineering team. You will be responsible for finishing the optimization of our current IT operations stack, and be the driver of our internal AI native strategy. You want to push decision-making to wherever the right information is, rather than centralizing approvals, and you can build the processes and systems to enable all teams to experiment and own their own tools. You embody DevOps principles, and long lead or approval times fill you with dread. You see shadow IT as a signal that we have a gap, rather than something to be controlled.
You will lead a team that manages the operation and security of traditional corporate IT systems, help desk queues, and employee hardware, but also provides tools and platforms for other teams’ to effectively operate in. Your team is also significantly responsible for the operational and security strategy for internal AI usage, agentic workloads, and general automation at Grafana. You will guide your team building and delivering internal platforms that automate typical IT work and enable our employees to do their best work seamlessly. You must have significant engineering acumen as this is a highly technology-driven role.
This is a high-impact opportunity to define what IT and corporate systems looks like in the AI age at a technical, everything-as-code company. You will have a fully staffed team and significant autonomy to achieve objectives. If you read the Phoenix Project and Seat at the Table/Art of Business Value and it struck a chord then you are the next engineering leader we are looking for.
In Spain, the Base compensation range for this role is EUR 106,000 - EUR 133,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process. All of our roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), giving every team member ownership in Grafana Labs' success. This is a fully remote position and we're considering candidates in Canada.
The Opportunity:
Grafana is building the Interactive Learning Plugin: an open source, in-product learning experience inside Grafana that helps users level up without leaving their workflow. We’re hiring a software engineer embedded in Developer Advocacy who ships real product code that directly impacts both Grafana Cloud and Grafana OSS.
This is for an engineer who moves fast with strong judgment, is excited about AI-assisted development in open source, and wants to help build a platform where anyone can contribute high-quality learning content—not just engineers.
Your primary focus will be the open source Interactive Learning Plugin: https://github.com/grafana/grafana-pathfinder-app and its content: https://github.com/grafana/interactive-tutorials
You’ll also have access to frontier models (e.g., GPT-Codex 5/3, Claude Opus 4.6, Gemini 3 Pro).
This role includes participation in an on-call rotation as part of our DevOps culture. We believe in end-to-end ownership—those who build the software also help run and support it in production.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
We know it’s rare to find everything. You should be strong in at least two of the three areas below:
You’ll also do a small but meaningful amount of communication work (~20%) which will include writing clear docs, design notes, and PR descriptions, as well as occasionally demo work or explaining decisions to internal/external audiences.
Bonus Points For:
Compensation & Rewards:
In Canada, the base compensation range for this role is $186,368 CAD - $223,642 CAD. At Grafana, we build observability tools that help users understand, respond to, and improve their systems – regardless of scale, complexity, or tech stack. The Grafana AI teams play a key role in this mission by helping users make sense of complex observability data through AI-driven features. These capabilities reduce toil, lower the barrier of domain expertise, and surface meaningful signals from noisy environments.

We’re looking for an AI Software Engineer with a strong software engineering background, a quick iteration mindset, and a passion for experimentation – balanced by a focus on shipping and scaling impactful features that deliver value to users. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and ship AI-powered features that contribute to improving infrastructure and observability quality through automation, while also expanding the capabilities of AI agents across the observability stack to assist users with incident response.
This is a remote opportunity and we would be interested in applicants based in Spain, Germany, the UK or Sweden at this time.
Grafana Cloud is our composable observability platform that integrates metrics, logs, and traces with Grafana. It allows our customers to leverage the best open source observability software – including Prometheus, Mimir, Loki, and Tempo – without the overhead of installing, maintaining and scaling their own observability stack
The Observability department is focused on enabling developers to understand the health and performance of their applications and infrastructure in any environment by providing tools to instrument their code, ingest observability data into Grafana Cloud and visualize and explore it.
In this role, you will be part of the team that builds our Cloud Observability stack that allows customers to collect and visualize metrics from various systems and applications. We build and maintain the backend of opinionated applications such as Cloud Provider Observability, Database Observability, and Kubernetes Monitoring. This includes the dashboards, alerts, documentation, and infrastructure while working closely with other teams to ensure seamless experiences. We also strive to incorporate OSS contributions in our work by contributing to projects such as Alloy, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Beyla. The Observability department provides a core building block for customers using Grafana Cloud.
As a company we are remote-first and global, we embrace people of different experiences and backgrounds to build diverse teams where every person brings a unique perspective to the software. We are looking for Engineers that are passionate about communicating with data and providing seamless experiences for our customers to join our growing team! Engineers at Grafana also have the opportunity to contribute to Open Source communities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
At Grafana Labs, our engineers have a dedicated career path and do not have to become managers to progress in their career. Staff Software Engineers at Grafana have a large amount of experience across multiple areas. They are able to estimate, plan, coordinate and deliver large tasks spanning multiple systems. They actively coach and mentor other team members in their team and are able to identify and resolve issues with technology and product processes.
You will bring your passion for observability and software engineering expertise to help us take our infrastructure monitoring capabilities within Grafana Cloud to the next level. This will include working with our Kubernetes monitoring solution.
As we are remote-first and our engineering organization is entirely remote, we provide guidance and meet regularly using video calls, so an independent attitude, good communication skills, and transparency are a must.

This is a remote opportunity and we are looking for candidates from the U.S.
The Opportunity
Grafana Labs is looking for a Staff AI Engineer, People Technology to help build the next generation of AI-powered systems that support our global workforce and People programs. This role sits within the People Technology team, partnering closely with People Operations, Talent Acquisition, Enablement, Finance, and Go-to-Market teams to design intelligent workflows and data products that improve how we hire, develop, and support Grafanistas worldwide.
At Grafana Labs, we believe AI should be actually useful. Our approach to AI is grounded in solving real problems and creating practical tools that help teams work better. As part of this philosophy, you’ll apply AI thoughtfully within our People systems, building solutions that improve how we operate and support team members.
As our first People Team AI Engineer, you’ll architect and implement AI-driven solutions that unlock insights from our People data ecosystem, including BigQuery and systems such as Workday, Greenhouse, Docebo, Tangelo, and Salesforce. Your work will focus on creating scalable data pipelines, automation, and AI-powered workflows that drive operational efficiency and deliver actionable insights for People leaders.
This role requires both technical depth and a strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and responsible AI practices. You’ll help establish standards for anonymization, ethical AI usage, and secure handling of sensitive People data while building systems that empower the People team to make data-informed decisions.
