ASSOCIATE CNC MACHINIST (MILL)

As an Associate CNC Machinist, you’ll play a key role in Freeform’s machining and post-processing operations. You’ll work with advanced multi-axis CNC machines that transform 3D-printed metal parts into precision-finished aerospace-grade components, helping bridge the gap between 3D printing and final production. You’ll gain hands-on experience operating CNCs, mills, and lathes, making basic program edits, setting up jobs, and inspecting parts. The right candidate for this role will be an energetic go-getter with a positive attitude and a “no job too big or small” mentality. 3D printing experience is not required to be successful here - rather we look for smart, motivated, collaborative individuals who love solving hard problems and creating amazing technology!  

Responsibilities:  

• Operate and support CNC machining, including setup, basic programming edits, tool changes, and part inspection
• Use manual machining tools such as mills, lathes, bandsaws, and grinders to support part finishing and fixture creation
• Learn and apply precision measurement techniques to verify part quality and tolerances
• Support maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines and shop equipment (air compressors, chillers, inert gas systems, etc.)
• Contribute to shop organization and process improvements, helping build a high-functioning R&D machine shop

Basic Qualifications:  

• 1+ years of experience of CNC operation OR completion of formal technical training (e.g., NTMA, community college machining program, or similar)

Nice to Have:  

• Experience operating CNC mills or lathes, including basic G-code understanding
• Exposure to metal additive manufacturing and post-processing techniques
• Familiarity with manual machining, welding, or fabrication of stainless steel, aluminum, or nickel alloys

SENIOR ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL SYSTEMS)

As a Senior Engineering Technician (Mechanical Systems) at Freeform, you will work closely with the engineering team to fabricate, assemble, test, and develop custom hardware for our advanced metal 3D printing factory systems. You will also build-out and maintain critical infrastructure systems (air, water, and inert gases), and ensure that all onsite fabrication and R&D areas are outfitted with the required tools/equipment, remain clean/organized, and are being used safely. You will have an opportunity to use a variety of machines and tools including lathes, mills, bandsaws, grinders, precision drills, and wire EDMs. The right candidate for this role will be team-oriented and have a positive attitude with a “no job too big or small” mentality. • Act as the go-to resource for the engineering team in building critical hardware for advanced 3D printing machines

• Perform planned maintenance and unplanned repairs on equipment including air compressors, water chillers, inert gas systems and general machine/fabrication shop equipment 
• Read and utilize schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) to troubleshoot systems down to the component level 
• Organize and improve shop operations; own process improvements from cradle to grave and build a first-class R&D shop 

Basic Qualifications:  

• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or production 
• Experience working in an R&D or custom job shop environment 
• Experience building complex things with little work instructions or blue prints  

Nice to Have:

MACHINE SHOP GENERAL HELPER

As a General Helper in our Machine Shop, you’ll support critical day-to-day activities in Freeform’s state-of-the-art metal 3D printing factory. In this role, you’ll help maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment, assist with basic facilities upkeep, and support preventative maintenance and repairs on machines and equipment. You’ll also have the chance to learn directly from experienced machinists and technicians, gaining hands-on exposure to a wide range of manufacturing tools and processes along the way. The right candidate is dependable, eager to learn, and has a “no job too big or small” mentality.

• Maintain safe work practices and help enforce cleanliness and organization standards in shared spaces

DEBURR TECHNICIAN (ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING)

As a Deburr Technician at Freeform, you will play a critical role in the post-processing of metal 3D printed parts for the world’s first high-volume additive manufacturing factory.  You will debur and post-process parts with complex geometries and tight-tolerances with a keen eye for precision and attention to detail. You will have an opportunity to use a variety of tools and machines such as EDM’s, grit blasters, grinders, power hand tools, and more. Our customers are the most iconic names in aerospace, defense, automotive, advanced energy, and industrial sectors, so the impact of your work will be direct and meaningful. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced R&D environment, will take pride in their work, and will have a no-job-too-big-or-small mentality.

• Post process printed parts including depowering, precision cleaning, removing supports, and surface-finishing

We are looking for someone with extreme attention to detail and a keen eye for process improvements to help Freeform scale to mass production. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced R&D environment, will take pride in their work, and will have a no-job-too-big-or-small mentality.
