About the Role

Our New York office is seeking to employ a Trading Assistant. This individual will be responsible for manually inputting and updating orders for constantly changing markets throughout trading hours, coordinating with traders to deliver relevant and correct information, and consistently monitoring the state of the market. They must also be capable and comfortable working and communicating accurately in a time-sensitive environment and have the ability to multitask by prioritizing the input of key market data first. Lastly, they must be able to reconcile trades daily with accuracy and precision by checking trade records against our internal records.

Please note this role is 100% in-office 5 days per week and responsibilities are aligned with market hours.

About You

Annual Base Salary: $300,000.  Total compensation packages are comprised of base salary and a discretionary bonus.

About the Role 

A dynamic NYC-based trading firm is looking for a Compliance Analyst to join its growing compliance  team. The team is charged with establishing, implementing and maintaining adequate policies and  procedures to ensure compliance of the firm with its legal and regulatory obligations. In this position,  tasks will primarily include surveillance and monitoring of trading activity, training and inducting staff,  documenting new policies, managing regulatory reporting and communication, administering existing  policies, and monitoring regulatory developments and best practices.

About You

The candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, impeccable professional  background, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a regulated environment preferred. Ability to work  independently, organization, superior attention to detail, and ability to multitask are required. Strong  knowledge of key compliance areas and strong ability to work with spreadsheets are required. 

Annual Base Salary: $75,000 - $100,000. Base salary does not include discretionary bonus, if eligible, or  benefits. 

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on professional for our growing systems administration team. 

Systems Administrators are responsible for the workstations and servers of our rapidly expanding trading operations. In addition to all systems work both on the desktops and in the datacenters, Five Rings Systems Administrators frequently interact with users at various levels all across our organization.

We are a Linux shop both on the server side and the trader desktops.

Our firm runs Windows servers very rarely and Windows desktops as needed. 

Skills & Attributes:

• Fluency in Linux administration is a must
• Experience in Debian/Ubuntu preferred
• Strong communication skills
• A demonstrated ability to work tasks to completion and tolerate frequent context switches
• Experience with:
  • BIND
  • Ansible
  • Linux KVM
  • Zabbix
  • Google workplace collaboration and productivity tools
  • Some Windows administration skills are a plus, but not required
• Experience scripting in bash and python is preferred, SQL and Perl a plus
• Knowledge of cybersecurity tools including 2FA, iptable rulesets, Malwarebytes, fail2ban, etc.
• Ability to move and install equipment weighing up to 50lbs
• Preference to apply a breadth of experience towards varied responsibilities in a small-shop environment
• Comfortable with hands-on work, racking and stacking in datacenters is commonplace

Responsibilities include:

• Installations of workstations on our trading floors and in offices
• Installations of servers and networking appliances in data centers, sometimes requiring travel

Additional tasks include:

• Hardware maintenance
• Large-scale build-outs, sometimes requiring travel, both domestic and international
• Installations of office appliances such as printers, phones, televisions, etc.

This role will be fully in-person based out of New York City.

Annual base salary is $275,000. Total compensation packages are comprised of base salary and a discretionary bonus.

About the Program

Five Rings offers an intensive 9 week summer internship program that runs from the beginning of June through the beginning of August. The program includes immersion in hands-on projects, classroom instruction, and in-house built strategy games. Interns will work closely with the research team on development projects. You will have a mentor fully dedicated to you during the internship. 

You will take part in a series of talks to introduce you to key trading concepts. We also offer a variety of activities such as strategic game nights, nights out in NY, dinners, and so much more.

• Must be working towards a PhD in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, economics, or another qualifying field
• Exceptional at math and with other quantitative skills

Annual Base Salary: $300,000. Additionally, interns receive a sign on bonus and corporate housing.
