As a Software Engineer on the Meal Program team, you’ll take ownership of our web application, managing the entire end-to-end experience for our corporate clients and their employees. This includes everything from launching innovative new features that solve real user needs to performing the platform upgrades and routine maintenance that keep our systems scalable and secure. By ensuring the ordering, catering, and billing processes are seamless and efficient, you’ll help our customers provide high-quality food options while supporting local businesses and reducing food waste.

What You'll Do:

• Own the Core Platform: Take full ownership of the Meal Program web application lifecycle, including admin tooling, menu recommendations, order management, and billing systems.
• Modernize and Maintain: Proactively manage the infrastructure and platform dependencies to ensure the existing application remains robust, secure, and scalable.
• Build for Customers: Respond to corporate client and business needs by evolving existing products and identifying high-impact areas for new initiatives.
• Bridge Data and UX: Partner with our data technology team to transform complex data models into intuitive, user-facing features that simplify the ordering experience.
• Architect Solutions: Decompose complex problems into elegant technical designs and collaborate with fellow engineers to implement, test, and validate your team’s output.

What You Have:

• Fullstack Expertise: You have experience working on a product engineering team and feel comfortable navigating both the frontend and backend.
• Technical Proficiency: You are skilled in fullstack technologies including Ruby on Rails, React, GraphQL, REST APIs, and TypeScript.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) and a demonstrated ability to integrate them into daily engineering workflows to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and automate routine development tasks. Eagerness to share AI best practices with peers is also a plus!"
• Proven Experience: You have 3 or more years of development experience working within a production codebase.
• Adaptability: You are eager to learn new languages and stacks such as Go. Existing experience with Go is a significant plus.

A critical area for ezCater’s growth over the coming years will be solidifying the current menu capabilities and building the next features which will service the full spectrum of our customer’s food needs. As a member of our Menus Core Services (MCS) team, you will play a pivotal role designing and building the foundation for these menus systems. This is a high visibility team at the center of ezCater’s core services initiatives. Additionally, you will partner with teams across the organization to fuel new functionality, improved customer experiences and partner integrations.

What You'll Do: 

• Bring your knowledge of distributed systems to build highly-scalable, fault-tolerant systems in a hybrid monolithic/microservices architecture.
• Partner with our data technology organization to enable detailed insight into our menus, unlocking future roadmap opportunities across the org.
• Work cross-functionally with product managers and business stakeholders to understand the complex processes that drive order fulfillment.
• Make an impact working on projects that will drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction across ezCater.
• Improve performance at every chance you get (we believe speed itself is a feature).
• Partner with fulfillment and customer care teams to improve the experience for customers, catering partners, delivery drivers, and customer support agents.

What You Have: 

• Fullstack experience on a product engineering team, ideally in Go or Ruby on Rails.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) and a demonstrated ability to integrate them into daily engineering workflows to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and automate routine development tasks. Eagerness to share AI best practices with peers is also a plus!
• Deep knowledge of SQL / relational databases. Postgres? Even better.
• Exposure to GraphQL and Kafka is an asset, but not a requirement.
• Experience designing and building large-scale systems.
• Extensive experience designing APIs and an understanding of API-first development.
• Desire to work on a backend-heavy platform team.
• An appetite for learning, experimentation, relentless curiosity and an ability to leverage what you learn to make our products better.
• A friendly, flexible, and pragmatic disposition.
