Job Summary: 

This is an exciting role at an innovative, high-growth defense technology company. The Senior RF Engineer will lead the design of solid-state power amplifier modules from concept to production. The ideal candidate for the position is someone who has experience with high power amplifier design and will have full ownership of product development through all stages of conception, prototype, and productization. In this role, you will work closely with a talented engineering team in a fast-paced environment to apply emerging technologies in innovative ways to rapidly produce new products. This position will report to the Manager of RF Engineering.   

Responsibilities:  

• Design of high-power microwave amplifiers and RF front-end modules for CW or pulsed operation  
• Modeling, simulation, analysis, design, test, and optimization of high power active and passive power amplifier circuits  
• Generate schematics and work closely with mechanical, thermal, and PCB layout teams to ensure circuit designs meet requirements while striving for first pass design success  
• Board bring up, test, and bench level tuning  
• Develop design verification test plans and assist with testing  
• Evaluate, characterize, and select off-the-shelf power amplifier components like discrete transistors, MMICs, couplers, splitters/combiners, etc.  
• Assist with RF system and/or subsystem requirement development and feasibility studies  
• Assist with manufacturing process and test requirement development  
• Coordinate with internal quality and supply chain teams for process improvements  
• Work with vendors to explore new device capabilities and modeling   
• Troubleshoot board level RF issues/failures and provide recommended paths forward  
• Hold design reviews and presentations with peers and act as a reviewer 

Basic Qualifications: 

• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in RF Engineering  
• 5+ years experience with broadband high power amplifier design and development in frequency ranges from UHF to C band or higher with power levels 100W or greater 
• Thorough understanding of high-power amplifier design process from component characterization and selection to volume manufacturing 
• Experience with RF cascade analyses, component selection, and component evaluations  
• Skilled with modeling, simulation, analysis, design, test and optimization of RF power amplifiers and supporting circuits like couplers, detectors, and bias sequencing / control  
• Familiar with power amplifier impedance matching circuits and optimizations  
• Experience with schematic capture and guiding PCB layout  
• Experience with test plan development and test execution  
• Experience developing circuit models and simulations using tools like Keysight ADS or Cadence AWR  
• Experience with test equipment like vector network analyzers (VNAs), spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and load pull  
• US Citizen or permanent resident (future security clearance may be required)  

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

• Experience with 3D electromagnetic modeling and simulation using tools like Ansys HFSS, CST, and Feko or similar

Job objective: This is an exciting role an innovative, high-growth defense technology company. The ideal candidate for the position is someone who has experience designing, verifying, and integrating state-of-the-art FPGA systems and embedded processing solutions for RF applications. As a Sr. FPGA Engineer, you will work closely with a talented, multi-disciplinary engineering team in a fast-paced environment to apply emerging technologies in innovative ways to rapidly produce new products.     

Duties  

• Design and verification of RTL modules for FPGA applications
• Ownership of entire FPGA designs from initial architecture trades through implementation, verification, and hardware bringup, including FPGA sizing estimation and IO planning.
• Lead initial testing and bring-up of custom FPGA circuit cards, validating functionality of on-board peripherals including memory interfaces, Ethernet controllers, and integrated sensors.
• Automating test environment (up to and including hardware-in-the-loop testing), lab equipment, and measurement devices
• Capturing design tradeoffs, state machine flow, system address maps, and block diagrams 

Required Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in FPGA design, implementation, and testing
• Extensive experience implementing FPGA designs and embedded processing designs on embedded hardware
• Experience working with latest generation state-of-the-art Xilinx/Intel Parts and associated tool sets (Vivado, Quartus)
• Understanding of common digital communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART)
• Development Experience of Integrated Embedded Applications (ARM, GPU)
• Experience with standard bus and streaming protocols, such as AXI and AXI-Stream
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes
• Active Secret or Top Secret clearance, or ability to obtain one desired but not required.  

Desired Qualifications   

• Experience with design automation, scripting languages (TCL, Python, Perl, Matlab)
• Knowledge of Advanced Firmware Verification Testbench Development (UVM, System Verilog)
• Skilled with Advanced High-Speed Verilog/VHDL Designs including High Speed Memory Interfaces (DDR4, HBM) and High Speed SerDes IO and Protocols (100GE, JESD204B, Interlaken)
• Experience implementing Complex DSP Algorithms on FPGAs using tools such as Matlab, Simulink, HDL Coder to implement advanced communications or other designs in FPGA
• Experience collaborating with software engineering team in an SoC environment to develop designs that incorporate HDL combined with embedded Linux

Job Summary: This is an exciting role in an innovative company. The ideal candidate for the Senior Systems Engineer position is someone who has experience with full lifecycle system development. In this role, you will work closely with a talented engineering team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Systems Engineering and part of Systems team. This role is a multidisciplinary role, with significant breadth (interacting with all engineering disciplines) and depth (from customer needs to unit-level specifications). You will focus on typical Systems Engineering responsibilities, such as requirements definition & management (at system, subsystem, and component levels), system architecture, system analysis, change management, interface definition, etc. Additionally, this role is a key stakeholder in integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) planning and execution to ensure products meet requirements.  As much as possible, a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach is employed to make Systems Engineering processes more thorough and efficient. 

Responsibilities: 

• Contribute to system requirements definition and management for a product  
• Ensure Key Performance Parameters, as derived through mission modeling and operational analysis, are properly flowed to system requirements  
• Act as an interface with either existing or prospective customers to prove that customer requirements/needs are fully satisfied by system requirements

Job Summary: In this role, you will design electromechanical assemblies, mechanisms, and large structures – following designs through their full lifecycle. You will have a hands-on role in designing, building, and testing mechanical designs ranging from small electronics packages to large actuated systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build RF-phased array structures and electronic packages as a key member of a cross-functional product design team
• Design harnesses, cables, and interconnects for large electronics assemblies and vehicle-mounted systems
• Perform thermal and structural analyses to validate designs and ensure robust, reliable designs.
• Create CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings, including tolerance analysis and GD&T in compliance with ASME Y14.5
• Collaborate with the operations team to transition designs into production, driving quality and manufacturability.
• Develop and execute environmental testing to validate product performance in real world conditions.

Basic Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
